A surgical apparatus for removing deposits from an interior of a vessel including an outer member and a rotatable shaft having a lumen to receive a guidewire. The lumen has a cross-sectional dimension to enable fluid injection between an inner diameter of the shaft and an outer diameter of the guidewire. A tip is mounted to the shaft for rotation about its longitudinal axis and mounted such that the distal opening of the shaft is axially spaced from a distal internal surface of the tip such that fluid injected through the lumen of the shaft contacts the distal internal surface of the tip and is redirected proximally to direct in a proximal direction deposits removed by the rotational movement of the shaft. The tip includes including a guidewire lumen for receiving a guidewire to enable over the wire insertion of the apparatus.

ADJUSTABLE LIPOSUCTION CANNULA

A device for removing fat from a body can include a pair of nested hollow members that each has at least one opening and an adjustment means for adjusting the orientation of the nested hollow members from a first configuration to a second configuration to change an amount of overlap between openings in the nested hollow members. The nested members can be deformable to change the shape of the openings.

UTERINE FIBROID TISSUE REMOVAL DEVICE

A uterine fibroid tissue removal device includes an inner tube disposed within an outer tube and configured to be translated and rotated relative to the outer tube, and a separately formed unitary distal tip member attached to a distal end of the inner tube, such that the distal tip member translates and rotates relative to the outer tube along with the inner tube, wherein a distal facing open cutting end of the distal tip member in fluid communication with an axial lumen of the distal tip member translates across a tissue resection window in a sidewall of the outer tube so as to sever tissue extending therethrough, the distal tip member axial lumen being in fluid communication with an axial lumen of the inner tube, wherein an outer diameter of the distal tip member is greater than an outer diameter of the inner tube.

Fluid transfer device

The present application provides a device (100) for transferring a fluid from a surgical site, comprising an elongate body portion (102) defining a proximal end region (106) connectable to a source of negative pressure; an elongate neck portion (104) defining a distal end region (108) of the device locatable at a surgical site; a through bore (118) extending from the distal end region to the proximal end region; and a control member (116) for selectively controlling a negative pressure at the distal end region, wherein the control member comprises a valve portion (124) configured to at least partially restrict a fluid flowing along the through bore when moved from an open position towards a closed position. A system including the device for transferring a fluid from a surgical site is also provided.

Ears disimpactor

An ear disimpactor for disimpacting material impacted in an ear canal and against a tympanic membrane, is disclosed. The impacted material comprises cerumen, insects, and other debris. The ear disimpactor comprises a housing, a warm water irrigation unit, and a suction unit. The housing comprises an ear speculum attached to an outer surface of the housing, a motorized auger comprising a drill bit extending from the motorized auger to a tip of the ear speculum, a warm water line extending from the tip of the ear speculum and across a length of the housing, and a suspension suction tube extending from the tip of the speculum and across the length of the housing. The warm water irrigation unit provides warm water to the ear canal through the warm water line and the suction unit sucks out suspension from the ear canal.

A device for visualizing and providing suction for a surgical procedure in an ear may include a handle, a main shaft extending from the handle, an imaging sensor at a distal end of the main shaft, a light source at the distal end of the main shaft, and a suction shaft extending from the handle. The device may also include a spring coupled with the suction shaft and/or the handle, such that when the suction shaft is advanced in a distal direction and then released, the suction shaft retracts automatically. The suction shaft may have a distal curved portion, and the device may have a thumb depress portion that allows a user to spin the suction shaft to suction in different directions. Some embodiments may include a suction shaft with a sharp distal tip that is configured for placing an ear tube in the tympanic membrane.

Modular assembly for a portable hemodialysis system

A modular assembly for a portable hemodialysis system may include a dialysis unit, e.g., that contains suitable components for performing hemodialysis, such as a dialyzer, one or more pumps to circulate blood through the dialyzer, a source of dialysate, and one or more pumps to circulate the dialysate through the dialyzer, and a power unit having a housing that contains suitable components for providing operating power to the pumps of the dialysis unit. The power unit may be selectively connected to the dialysis unit and provide power (e.g., pneumatic power in the form of pressure and/or to vacuum) to the dialysis unit for the pumps when connected to the dialysis unit, but may be incapable of providing power to the dialysis unit when disconnected from the dialysis unit. The dialysis unit and the power unit are sized and weighted to each be carried by hand by a human.
