APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
An example device suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person may include a fluid impermeable housing defining an internal volume. The device can include a porous material disposed within the internal volume. The fluid impermeable housing can define an opening in fluid communication with the internal volume. The porous material includes a contact surface and first and second sidewalls. The sidewalls can extend from the contact surface, for example, substantially orthogonal to the contact surface, or laterally and inwardly from the contact surface at an acute angle.
CATHETER BASED DEVICE FOR TREATMENT OF OBSTRUCTION IN BODY LUMEN
A method and apparatus for treating or removing an obstruction in the body lumen of a patient, and particularly the treatment of a pulmonary embolism is disclosed. The treatment involves macerating and dissolving the clot by providing mechanical means of breaking up the obstruction while applying a dissolving agent such as a lytic agent to the specific area. A means of aspirating the obstruction debris is provided. In addition, various means of grasping an obstruction and removing it from the body lumen are disclosed.
VISUALIZED SURGICAL ASSEMBLY AND CORRESPONDING ENDOSCOPE THEREOF
A visualized surgical assembly is provided, characterized in that the visualized surgical assembly includes a disposable drainage tube and a functional tube for providing visualization function, the disposable drainage tube and the functional tube are connected detachable along the axial of the tube body, and the functional tube is provided with a self-destructive part for cutting the disposable drainage tube. A corresponding endoscope is also provided. The visualized surgical assembly is a combination structure of the disposable drainage tube and the functional tube which can provide visualization function. The disposable drainage tube can removable connect with the functional tube, and the functional tube can be repeated disinfection, which can reduce the cost and avoid the risk of cross infection.
ROLLING SURGICAL DRAINS AND METHODS FOR USE
Described herein are negative pressure drains configured as “rolling” surgical drains including an invertible porous mesh having an expanded configuration so that negative pressure may be applied out of the invertible porous mesh to extend a uniform negative pressure within the body region being treated. The invertible porous mesh may then be withdrawn into the apparatus without significantly disrupting the tissue.
APPARATUS WITH COMPRESSIBLE CASING FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
A device suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person including a casing defining an internal volume and an opening. The casing can include a compressible material which is elastically deformable when the device is disposed in a pubic region of a female user. The device can include a porous material disposed within the internal volume and in fluid communication with the opening. The porous material can wick, draw, or direct fluid, such as urine, away from the pubic region of the female user and into the internal volume. The device can include a fluid conduit disposed within the internal volume and enabling extraction of fluid from the internal volume. The device can include a fluid impermeable housing disposed within the internal volume and adhered or otherwise affixed to the casing.
DEVICE FOR ALLEVIATING OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA
A device for alleviating obstructive sleep apnea, comprising: a base fitted and fixed to an user's head and having a passage portion; an adjustment element extending into the passage portion and undergoing relative displacement therein; a locking element disposed at the passage portion, wherein an user uses the locking element to fix the adjustment element in place to limit the relative displacement of the adjustment element; a suction member undergoing relative displacement relative to the passage portion together with the adjustment element and having a channel, wherein the channel extends into the adjustment element, undergoes relative displacement in the adjustment element, and connects to a tongue fixing portion disposed at the front end of the user's tongue; and a negative pressure source being mounted on the base and in communication with the channel, providing a negative pressure to the user's tongue in contact with the tongue fixing portion.
CONSTANT PRESSURE SYRINGE FOR SURGICAL USE
A closed system for harvesting fat through liposuction, concentrating the aspirate so obtained, and then re-injecting the concentrated fat into a patient comprises as its main components a low pressure cannula having between about 7 to 12 side holes of about 1-2 mm by 2.0 to 4.0 mm, a spring loaded syringe holder with a constant force or coiled ribbon spring to apply a substantially constant pressure over the fill excursion of the plunger, and a preferably flexible collection bag which is also preferably graduated, cylindrical over most of its body and funnel shaped at its bottom, all of which are connected through flexible tubings to a multi-port valve. The multi-port valve has two flutter/duck bill valves which restrict the fluid flow to a one way direction which effectively allows the syringe to be used to pump fat out of a patient and into a collection bag in a continuous manner. After the bags are centrifuged to concentrate the fat, the excess fluids are separated and the valve is re-connected to permit the syringe pump to reverse fluid flow to graft the concentrated fat back into the patient.
Aspiration catheter systems and methods of use
Described are methods, systems, devices for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature. A catheter advancement device includes a flexible elongate body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a single lumen extending therebetween. The flexible elongate body has a proximal segment, an intermediate segment, and a tip segment. The proximal segment includes a hypotube coated with a polymer. The intermediate segment includes an unreinforced polymer having a durometer of no more than 72D. The tip segment is formed of a polymer different from the intermediate segment and has a durometer of no more than about 35D and a length of at least 5 cm. The tip segment has a tapered portion that tapers distally from a first outer diameter to a second outer diameter over a length of between 1 and 3 cm.
MALLEABLE SUCTION INSTRUMENT WITH OFFSET POSITION SENSOR
An apparatus such as a suction instrument includes a position sensor proximate to a distal tip of a malleable shaft. A sensor wire couples the position sensor to a processor of an image guided surgery system such that signals generated by the position sensor can be interpreted to determine the position of the surgical instrument. The malleable shaft includes a malleable outer shaft and a flexible inner tube. The flexible inner tube includes a primary lumen that can provide suction, fluid, or various deployable surgical tools, and an inner lumen that holds the sensor wire. Protected within the inner lumen, the sensor wire runs the length of the shaft and exits the inner lumen and passes through a slot in the outer shaft to reach the position sensor. A heat shrink cover wraps the distal tip, sealing the components together and providing an opening suitable for suction.
