CAPACITIVE TOUCH VEHICLE ACCESSORY
A system for a vehicle having an accessory positioned along the vehicle. The system may also include a sensor located along the vehicle in wireless communication with the accessory, wherein the sensor triggers activation of the accessory based on input from an external source.
Automatic control of a power tailgate under external loading
Embodiments of a system for controlling a vehicle power tailgate are described. The system includes a motor operably connectible to a tailgate to open and close the tailgate, a processor, and a memory communicably coupled to the processor. The memory stores a tailgate control module including instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to, responsive to a value of a motor speed parameter being above a predetermined motor speed threshold and a value of a motor acceleration parameter being above a predetermined motor acceleration threshold during opening of a tailgate, control operation of the motor to apply a braking force to the tailgate.
Tailgate deactivation system
A tailgate deactivation system. A switch includes two terminals configured to be electrically coupled to a tailgate power circuit that supplies power to at least a portion of a tailgate of a vehicle, and an actuator configured to electrically couple the two terminals in an on state to allow power to flow in the tailgate power circuit, and to electrically decouple the two terminals in an off state to inhibit power from flowing in the tailgate power circuit.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL VEHICLE STORAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
An apparatus for enclosing a storage area of a vehicle is described. A first door encloses a first portion of one side of the storage area. A second door encloses a second portion of the one side of the storage area. A first pair of hinges is associated with the first door. Each of the first pair of hinges are located at opposite ends of a first edge of the first door and enable the first door to move between an open position and a closed position with respect to the first portion of the storage area. A second pair of hinges is associated with the second door. Each of the second pair of hinges are located at opposite ends of a first edge of the second door and enable the second door to move between an open position and a closed position with respect to the second portion of the storage area. A first pair of latches associated with the first door latch the first door into the closed position. A second pair of latches associated with the second door latch the second door into the closed position. A first latching lever releases the first pair of latches latching the first door into the closed position and a second latching lever releases the second pair of latches latching the second door into the closed position.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A FLAP ARRANGEMENT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for operating a flap assembly of a motor vehicle, a drive assembly for the motorized adjustment of the flap, a motor vehicle lock, and a flap sensor assembly for identifying a flap position, wherein the drive assembly has at least one drive which is restorably movement-coupled to the flap, with an electric drive motor, wherein the motor vehicle lock fixes the flap in a closed position in a main locked state, wherein the drive motor is activated by a drive control system of the drive assembly depending on the identified flap position. It is proposed that when the identified flap position reaches a predetermined braking initiation position situated before an end position in a movement procedure of the flap, the drive motor is activated in a braking routine by the drive control system in such a way that the drive assembly produces a motorized braking effect.
STAKE POST WITH LOCKING HINGE
A stake post having a locking hinge that enables selective movement of a gate unit between a first position in which the gate unit forms a portion of a retaining wall in cooperation with other gate units, and a second position in which the gate unit is removed from alignment with one or more adjacent gate units to thereby provide an opening through a retaining wall otherwise formed by the stake post when in the first position.
Vehicle having powered door control with object detection and classification
A vehicle having a powered tailgate is provided. The vehicle includes a body, a powered tailgate pivotally connected to the body, an actuator operatively coupled to the tailgate to move the tailgate between open and closed positions, and sensors configured to sense an object in a swing path of the tailgate. The vehicle also includes a controller for processing signals output from the sensor and identifying and classifying the object, and controlling the actuator to move the tailgate between the open and closed positions based on the classified object.
Sensor module for vehicle cargo door
A sensor module for a vehicle includes a housing structured to be mounted along a sidewall of a cargo door, and a pressure-sensitive sensor mounted in the housing so as to be extendible from the housing and retractable into the housing. A sensor deployment mechanism is operatively coupled to the sensor and is structured to be operable to extend the sensor from the housing and to retract the sensor into the housing.
POWER TAILGATE CARGO LOAD SENSOR
A vehicle tailgate structure of a vehicle is disclosed. The vehicle tailgate structure includes a tailgate located at the rear of the vehicle; a garnish covering a top surface of the tailgate and configured to deform when an external load applies on the garnish, the garnish including a plurality of rib structures along an interior surface of the garnish and a screw portion including the garnish around a screw of the screw portion; and a touch sensor extending along the top surface of the tailgate and covered by the garnish, the touch sensor configured to detect deformation of the garnish, the touch sensor including touch sensor wires connecting to a control system of the vehicle.
