KEYED REMOVABLE MULLION
An exemplary fitting for a mullion includes a first bracket, a second bracket nested with the first bracket, and a lock cylinder assembly selectively coupling the first bracket and the second bracket. The nested brackets include a set of interleaved walls, and openings in the walls cooperate to define a pocket in which the lock cylinder assembly is seated. The lock cylinder assembly includes an armature having a first position and second position. When in the first position, the armature prevents removal of the lock cylinder assembly from the pocket such that the lock cylinder assembly prevents separation of the brackets. With the armature in the second position, the lock cylinder assembly can be removed from the pocket, after which the brackets can be separated from one another.
THERMAL FRAME
The invention features a refrigerator cabinet door frame. The frame includes a thermally conductive outer frame, a thermally insulating inner frame member, and a sealing plate. The outer frame member includes a forward end having an outer surface that is disposed outside of a refrigerated cabinet with the frame mounted, and a rearward end defining a joint. The inner frame member includes a first end retained in the joint, and a second end. The sealing plate includes a first edge coupled to the outer frame member at the rearward end, forward of the joint, a second edge supported by the second end of the inner frame member, and a thermally conductive sealing surface. The first edge of the sealing plate is coupled to the outer frame member such that the sealing surface and the outer surface of the outer frame member together form a continuous heat transfer path.
Metallic fenestration systems with improved thermal performance and methods of manufacturing same
Thermally broken fenestration systems are provided that improve performance characteristics or combinations thereof, including strength and thermal conductivity. Embodiments disclosed include one or more fenestration frame assemblies, each having an interior frame member and an exterior frame member. The interior frame members and exterior frame members are coupled together via a plurality of bridges distributed along the length of the respective fenestration frame assembly. The bridges provide structural rigidity, while providing a plurality of air gaps between interior frame member and the exterior frame member to provide a thermal break.
DOOR ASSEMBLY
A door assembly is shown and described herein. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a mullion. The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may be a mullion and include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. The inventions disclosed are also applicable to jambs and window structures. Also disclosed are methods and assemblies for a mullion door frame members.
Hand tool
Method and apparatus for an electrically powered hand tool which can be used to install a spline into the groove on a frame member of a screened-in porch or window screen wherein the tool uses a reciprocating roller to press the screen and spline into the groove of the frame member so that the screen can be secured to the frame member. The hand tool has a handle serving as a housing for an electric motor with a rotating output shaft connecting to a transmission for creating reciprocating motion of a drive shaft having a distal end supporting a rotatable wheel adapted to compress the spline in the groove containing a portion of the screen while the handle is moved along the spline in the groove by a user.
Mullion for use with narrow stile doors
A mullion is adapted for use in a narrow stile door system. The mullion is a three-section mullion with top and bottom hollow mullion tubes and an I-shaped centerpiece. The top and bottom hollow mullion tubes have a first outside width and first outside depth and a second inside width and second inside depth, the second inside width and depth defined by the inside of the hollow tube walls. The I-shaped centerpiece is connected to and fixed in between the top and bottom mullion tubes. The I-shaped centerpiece comprises a thin middle portion and top and bottom flanges, and top and bottom insert portions connected to the top and bottom flanges, and the top and bottom insert portions having a third width and third depth that are smaller than the second inside width and depth of the top and bottom hollow mullion tubes, with the insert portions adapted to be inserted into the hollow portion of the top and bottom mullion tubes and fixed therein.

The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may be a mullion and include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. The inventions disclosed are also applicable to jambs and window structures. Also disclosed are methods and assemblies for a mullion door frame member.
MULL SYSTEM FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
A system for mulling a plurality a first fenestration frame and a second fenestration frame including a primary mull connector that is sliding received between the first and second fenestration frames. The primary mull connector having a first end with a jamb engagement portion and a second end that is free of a jamb engagement portion.
MULLING SYSTEM FOR A WINDOW ASSEMBLY
A mullion assembly is provided for forming a window assembly, the window assembly comprising a first window frame and a second window frame coupled to a monolithic mullion core such that a distal portion of the first window frame is in contact with a proximal surface of the mullion core and a proximal portion of the second window frame is in contact with a distal surface of the mullion core. The mullion assembly further comprises a first and second female connector on a respective first and second side of the mullion core. A plurality of separate compartments is defined along a length of the mullion core vertically between the proximal and distal surfaces and laterally between the first and second female connectors. The mullion assembly further comprises first and second male connectors configured to engage the female connectors and seal the first and second sides of the mullion core.
