The mull post may comprise a one or two piece outer portion and one or more internal reinforcing members. The outer portion may comprise a plurality of interlocking pieces. A first internal reinforcing member may be formed of engineered material such as a wood laminate, and a second reinforcing member may comprise a channel that extends partially around the first reinforcing member. The reinforcing member may include orthogonal portions conterminously received within a correspondingly shaped central chamber formed by the housing formed by the joined interlocking pieces. The reinforcing member may include an upper wood portion and a lower durable portion, connected end to end by a glued finger joint.

Adjustable Mullion Receptacle

An adjustable mullion receptacle includes a two-sided safety block adapted to sit in the well portion of the mullion receptacle. A receiving block face side of the block is adapted to fit into the hollow bottom of a hollow mullion tube. The opposite side of the block defines a smooth safety face that can be used to set in the receptacle well when the mullion is removed for any purpose. The block then fills the well and provides a smooth surface over the receptacle well.

According to some embodiments, a multi-panel door system includes a fixed panel and an active panel. Both panels are secured to the astragal of the door frame by securement members driven into and through hinges connected to the active panel, through the astragal, and into the fixed panel. The securement members are driven through a middle portion of the astragal stem in order to align the fixed and active panels in a recessed position with respect to the door frame. The fixed panel and the active panel are coplanar. Hinge support plates are placed between the hinges and the astragal and communicate forces transmitted through the securement members into deeper portions of the astragal.

A connection system comprising an anchor connected to the window frame, a meeting rail having ends that may be snap fit to the anchor, and a single screw to tighten and true-up the connection once it is installed in the anchor. The connection system allows the meeting rail to be removed and replace from inside the building. In an alternative embodiment the disclosure details a kit for detachably securing a meeting rail to a frame jamb. The kit comprises separate anchors that are removably secured to the first and second side of the jamb frame and a profiled pin for insertion into the anchor for securing the meeting rail to the anchor and upon manual rotation of the pin the meeting rail and frame jambs are secured together.

Multi-layer sealing spacer for entryway components

A spacer for sealing a joint between a first component and a second component of an entryway. The spacer may include substantially rigid support and a first gasket having a first uncompressed thickness (T1). The first gasket is attached to a first surface of the support. The first surface has at least one first boss extending therefrom by a distance (D1) such that (D1) is less than (T1). The at least one first boss is configured to abut a portion of the first component to provide the desired compression of the first gasket between the first component and the support.
