DOOR FRAME
A door frame assembly, comprising a first frame member comprising a first door frame casing for one side of a doorway and jambs projecting therefrom, a second frame member comprising a second door frame casing for another side of the doorway and jambs projecting therefrom, wherein the two frame members are arranged to fit together in a plurality of overlapping positions to form the door frame assembly such that the jambs of the first frame member overlap the jambs of the second frame member by different respective amounts in each of the plurality of overlapping positions to allow the door frame assembly to be applied to walls of different thicknesses.
Door frames with energy absorbing door stops
Described are trimless door frames and energy absorbing door stops. The energy absorbing door stop allows for relative movement between the door stop and the surrounding door frame. The relative movement of the energy absorbing door stop helps to distribute and dissipate forces and vibrations from opening and closing a door, reducing the levels of force transferred into the surrounding wall. The reduction in forces applied to the wall allows for the elimination of heavy door framing and trim. Since door trim is no longer necessary, trimless door frames may be installed with a smooth appearance without cracks appearing in the surrounding wall due to stress or fatigue.
ANTI-OBSTRUCTION SYSTEM HAVING A RELEASE STOP WITH RELEASE LOCK
An anti-obstruction system for improved safety in the event a barrier becomes obstructed by objects or a person. The anti-obstruction system utilizes a double swing hinge and an emergency release stop to act as the stop for the barrier so that the barrier can only swing in one direction. The release stop may have a support member (e.g., coupled to a frame) and a stop member coupled together through the use of a cover. The stop member stops the door from swinging in two directions when the release stop is engaged and allows the door to swing past the stop member when it is disengaged. The release stop may be engaged and disengaged through the use of a release lock that has one or more projections that restrict movement between the support member, the stop member, and/or the cover when engaged, and allows for movement when disengaged.
FRAME PROFILE WITH MULTIFUNCTION CHANNEL FOR DOOR JAMBS
A frame profile is an elongated extrusion having a consistent cross section along its length which can be cut to required lengths for forming side jambs and/or a head jamb of a door. The frame profile includes a base plate having a first face, a second face, a first side edge and a second side edge. There is a first formation extending from the first face adjacent the first side edge, and a second formation extending from the first face close to the second side edge. The second formation is spaced from the first formation to define a main channel therebetween. The second formation includes a trim receiving space for receiving a trim board therein.
UNIVERSAL JAMB ASSEMBLY
The invention provides a universal jamb assembly for a door casing, comprising two jambs having an identical cross section for making them universal for placement as hinge-side jamb or as strike-plate-side jamb of the door casing and each having a wall side and a door side face, and two elongated mounting strips, the elongated mounting strips having a jamb-facing face matching at least part of the door side face, one of the elongates mounting strips provided with at least two hinge leave recesses for allowing hinge leave mounting and the other elongated mounting strip provided with a strike plate recess for allowing strike plate mounting, the elongated mounting strips and the jambs mutually adapted to be coupled with the elongated mounting strip being applied onto the jamb from a direction substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of the jamb, and the jamb made of wood or wood-replacing composition.
CLOSURE ASSEMBLY
A closure assembly including a pair of closure members with one designated as an active closure member and the other as a passive closure member, and an astragal provided with the passive closure member, which is configured to cover a gap between the closure members when the closure assembly is in a closed position. There is a pair of sweep receivers each mounted on at least one of the closure members at opposite ends and each closure member having substantially the same thickness about its horizontal midline, such that each closure member can be configured as either a right or left closure member by adjusting its orientation.
UNIVERSAL FRAME FOR CONCEALED DOORS SUITABLE FOR INWARD AND OUTWARD OPENING CONFIGURATIONS AND RIGHT OR LEFT DOOR SWING
A frame that addresses the identified technical problems and provides a universal construction system for concealed door frames that can be applied interchangeably to doors opening outward or inward, using only four structural components and without requiring any off-site preparation before installation.
