A bead for releasably securing a glazing unit to a frame member, comprising a body having a first end and a second end, and a resiliently deformable member secured to the body and having a first finger extending from the body to a first end, and a second finger extending from the first finger to a second end. The first end of the body and the first end of the first finger are configured to engage with respective first and second ends of a frame member so as to secure the bead to the frame member. The second end of the body is configured to releasably secure a gasket in a first position so as to secure a glazing unit against an opposed end of the frame member. In use, application of an external force to the gasket moves the gasket to a second position and deflects the second finger from a first position to a second position, and the first finger is configured to separate from the second end of the frame member upon deflection of the second finger to the second position, so as to release the bead from the frame member.

Thermally-efficient slidable fenestration assembly
10837221 · 2020-11-17 ·

Exemplary implementations of a thermally-efficient slidable fenestration assembly are glass window systems or glass door systems having one or more sliding glass panels. The fenestration assemblies are adapted to be mounted in an architectural structure such as a building or house. Accessory channels in the fenestration framework may be provided to facilitate nail-fin, retro-fit or screen adaptors as means to attach the assembly to the surrounding architecture. Stiles, tracks and rails of the assembly are specifically configured to reduce heat transfer across the fenestration assembly, while simultaneously maintaining the structural integrity and durability of the overall assembly. Certain stile, track and rail components may comprise materials of relatively low conductivities. Preferred stile configurations include interlock elements arranged to reduce the assembly's vulnerability to tampering from a position outside of the fenestration.

Architectural manufactures, apparatus and methods using additive manufacturing techniques

An apparatus, method and manufacture utilizes additive manufacturing techniques to produce architectural manufactures such as windows and doors. The manufactures may have a composite construction and may feature inclusions like metal plates and reinforcements. The model used for controlling the manufacturing process may be derived from digital scanning of the structure on which the manufacture is used. Optionally, a finite element analysis is used to test the model and alter it in response to stress and/or thermal requirements.

System and method for improved louver windows

The system includes a series of operable louvers mounted on a four-sided frame and connected on each side to the operating mechanism that allows for easy opening and closing of the louvers. Every part of the system that is exposing to the exterior of the building is separated from the interior part of the system by a low heat conductivity material as a thermal barrier. Each operable louver is composing of a four-sided main frame, two panes of glass (inner and outer) and a coupling mechanism on each side that connects to the operating mechanism. The main frame acts as the thermal break as well as a system that absorbs the energy created when an outside object impacts the window from the outside. The system incorporates sealing devices between all moving parts to eliminate water and air infiltration. The operating system allows for easy opening and closing of the window by rotating each louver with the crank mechanism assisted by springs.

The first thermal break strip, which is located among the outdoor metal frame, the indoor metal frame, the first nylon thermal break block and the second nylon thermal break block, is an aerogel thermal insulation blanket. The second thermal break strip, which is located among the indoor metal frame, the second nylon thermal break block, the outer decorative metal cover and the inner visual glass curtain wall, is another aerogel thermal insulation blanket.

Door, window, or facade element and fitting arrangement for such an element

A window, door, or facade element includes an outer frame composed of out frame bars and a leaf frame composed of leaf frame bars. One or more of the outer frame bars and/or of the leaf frame bars has/have at least the following features: a base profile, on which two fastening grooves that are open in the same direction are formed for fixing a corresponding fastener of a fitting arrangement, which bridges the intermediate space between the fastening grooves. The two fastening grooves have at least one latch for at least one counterpart latch, which can be attached without tools, of a fitting part arrangement. The fitting arrangement has a functional fitting on a fitting plate and at least one support element for supporting the fitting. The support element is designed for direct or indirect latching in the fastening grooves by means of the counterpart latch.

Folding device with adjusting strip

A folding device as room closure has a frame and a chain of panels arranged therein. The panels are pivotably connected by alternate first and second hinge arrangements and foldable from a stretched-out closed position into an open accordion fold arrangement. First hinge arrangements are guided on guide rails of the frame; second hinge arrangements are deflected away from the frame. In the closed position, the panels are sealed relative to each other and to the frame by frame seals extending at least partially along a sealing plane. An adjusting strip in front of a lateral frame part is adjustable to adjust a spacing between adjustable strip and lateral frame part for spatial adaption to an adjacent panel. The adjusting strip has a sealing contact surface aligned with the sealing plane and resting against a seal arranged on the lateral frame part and extending into the guide rails.
