Shear plate for window frame assembly
Example aspects of a shear plate for a window frame assembly, a window frame assembly, and a method for insulating a window frame assembly are disclosed. The shear plate for a window frame assembly can comprise a shear plate body defining an outer shear plate surface and an inner shear plate surface, the shear plate body defining a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a pair of lateral sides extending between the first end and the second end; and at least one pair of shear plate holes extending from the outer shear plate surface to the inner shear plate surface, the pair of shear plate holes oriented such that a line running through a center of the pair of shear plate holes is substantially parallel to the first end and the second end.
SASH APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
There is provided a sash apparatus for securing in a window or a door, and a methods making same. The sash apparatus comprises a frame with multiple segments securable to the window or door, where each of the segments has an internal passage therein. The multiple segments are arranged and coupled together at non-straight angles to form the frame, with the internal passages within the segments in fluid communication with one another. The sash apparatus also includes a bonding fill at least partially filling the internal passages within the frame to hold the multiple segments together.
COLLAPSIBLE ELEMENT FOR FAÇADE SYSTEMS
A façade system includes a mullion having exterior and interior portions and defining a glazing pocket between the exterior and interior portions, a thermal break arranged within the glazing pocket and extending between the exterior and interior portions, the thermal break dividing the glazing pocket into a shallow pocket and a deep pocket larger than the shallow pocket, and a collapsible element arranged within the deep pocket and extending between the thermal break and a lateral side of a panel introduced into the deep pocket. The collapsible element is movable between a collapsed state and an expanded state. The collapsible element divides the deep pocket into two or more thermal chambers when in the expanded state to reduce heat transfer by convection through the glazing pocket.
Cross-linked polyethylene foam insulation for window and door frames
There is a frame insulator that covers a window or door frame. A door or window has one or more panels that are supported by frame members. The frame members have interior surfaces and exterior surfaces. The one or more panels are mounted on the frame members. The interior surfaces or the exterior surfaces or both are enclosed by sheets of cross-linked polyethylene foam extending adjacent to the one or more panels and forming frame insulators.
INSULATED DOOR ASSEMBLY
A vacuum insulated door for an appliance includes an outer wrapper that defines an evacuation port, An inner liner is coupled to the outer wrapper defining an insulating cavity therebetween. A base is coupled to the outer wrapper adjacent to the evacuation port. A servicing tube has a connecting end and a servicing end. The servicing tube is in fluid communication with the insulating cavity via the evacuation port. The connecting end is coupled to the base. A handle has first and second ends coupled to the outer wrapper and a center portion therebetween spaced-apart from the outer wrapper. The first end is coupled to the outer wrapper proximate the evacuation port. The servicing tube extends along an inner surface of the handle.
Insulated architectural covering systems and methods
An apparatus for an architectural opening may include a plurality of panels. At least one of the plurality of panels may include a frame including a plurality of first frame members and a plurality of second frame members sealed together at respective interfaces to define at least one opening. The interfaces may be defined by ends of the first frame members positioned at least partially within respective apertures defined in the second frame members. Each frame member may include an internal cavity, with the apertures fluidically connecting the internal cavities of the frame members. An inset panel may be secured within the at least one opening. One or more hinges may pivotably connect a first panel of the plurality of panels to a second panel of the plurality of panels. The apparatus may be a garage door, an entry door, a window, or a storefront.
Shock insulating door system and method
A door system includes a door having a frame forming at least a portion of a perimeter of the door and a sleeve configured to encase at least a portion of the frame. The frame is constructed from a first material and the sleeve is constructed from a different second material. The first material may be electrically conductive and the second material may be electrically insulating. Alternatively or additionally, the first material may be susceptible to wear and tear and the sleeve may be resilient and replaceable.
PROFILED PLASTIC SECTION FOR A METAL/PLASTIC COMPOSITE PROFILED SECTION
The invention relates to a profiled plastic section (1) for a metal/plastic composite profiled section (31). The profiled plastic section (1) comprises a first profiled element (2) and at least one second profiled element (3). The first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3) together form a latching mechanism (4, 9; 5, 10; 6, 11), by means of which a form-fitting connection can preferably be produced between the first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3) in a width direction (x) and in a height direction (y). The first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3) overlap preferably over a large area when the form-fitting connection is produced between the first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3), and the form-fitting connection can be produced on the cross-sectional plane (x, y) between the first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3) by latching the profiled elements (2, 3) of the profiled plastic section (1). The form-fitting connection between the first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3) is designed such that a movement of the first profiled element (2) and the second profiled element (3) in a longitudinal direction (z) of the profiled plastic section (1) is allowed when a first metal component (29) is connected to the first profiled element (2) and a second metal component (30) is connected to the second profiled element (3) preferably in a shear-resistant manner. The profiled plastic section (1) can likewise also be designed with more than two profiled elements (2, 3), and the basic principle according to the invention of generating a shear-free plastic/metal composite profiled section (31) can be carried over.
