Compound fenestration assembly mull joints and methods
Compound fenestration assembly mull joints, compound fenestration assemblies using those mull joints, and methods of making and using the same are described herein. The mull joints in compound fenestration assemblies as described herein use universal joining strips to form both sides of a mull joint, as well as other universal components such as, e.g., corner gussets, locator plates, end plugs, seal members, etc. that may be used as needed to form mull joints as required in a compound fenestration assembly.
Versatile hybrid window system
An extrusion for a multiple configuration window base frame is disclosed. In one aspect, the frame includes a main body defining an interior-side surface and an opposite opening-side surface extending between first and second ends. To facilitate use with different window types, part or all of the opening-side surface can be formed in a parallel arrangement with the interior-side surface. The frame can include a first attachment arrangement located proximate the main body first end that is configured for attachment to one or more cladding members. In one aspect, the first attachment arrangement includes a first clip member having a first outer portion and a first inner portion that define a first female receiving area and having a first overhang portion extending at least partially across the female receiving area to enable a snap-fit connection between the main body and the cladding member.
Polymeric wind and debris resistant garage door window frame and method of manufacture
A window frame assembly for installation within a garage door having front and rear exposed surfaces and one or more window openings. The assembly includes front and rear window frame members which are installed within the door openings in the garage door. The front and rear members are brought toward each other to sandwich the borders of each of the window openings while also capturing an associated transparent pane. A series of fastening members are used to hold the front and rear frame members securely against each other. The front and rear window frame members are made of synthetic polymeric starting stock starting materials which, together with the transparent panes, are able to withstand hurricane force winds and associated blowing debris.
Press-fit window insert
A press-fit window insert configured to provide secondary protection to an existing window, having a carrier, a fin, and a fastening clip. The carrier includes a substantially rigid framework having channels within the framework configured to securely accept one or more attachments. The fin extends from the carrier and includes a substantially flexible blade extending from a base portion of the fin. The base portion of the fin is configured to interlock the fin to the carrier. The fastening clip includes a substantially rigid brim extending from a base portion of the fastening clip. The base portion of the fastening clip is configured to interlock the fastening clip to the carrier.
Retention clip assemblies, retention systems and methods
Retention clip assemblies, retention systems, and methods of using the same. The retention clip assemblies, retention systems and methods described herein may be used to retain glass lites and, potentially, other panels, in frame openings provided in fenestration unit frames.
Frame assembly
Systems and methods for providing a universal window frame assembly. A window frame assembly can include a plurality of frame members, wherein at least one of the frame members comprises a first profile frame member and at least one of the other frame members comprises a second profile frame member. The at least one first profile frame member and the at least one second profile frame member seat together to form the frame assembly. Head and side jamb members of a window frame can have a common first profile, and a sill jamb member can have a second profile. The frame members can be connected with corner keys configured to engage one or more openings in the first and second profiles. The sill jamb member can provide a sill slope angle.

Frames, wings and pillars of wood for heat-insulating windows for passive buildings
Construction of frames, wings and posts of wood for insulating windows for passive construction are described. The wing uses six elements in the form of a rectangular wooden boards that are interconnected in such a way that the wood grain of the respective connected elements are matched alternately.
Quick release cladding system for fenestration frames
Disclosed is quick-release removable cladding for interior fenestration frames, such as the interior frames of doors, window, skylights, or curtain walls. The cladding is held flush against the frame by a pair of brackets or alternatively by a bracket attached to frame and a shaped cavity within the cladding. In one aspect, the pair of brackets can be shaped and arranged so that when engaged, a downward force on the cladding causes the cladding to move flush against the frame. In another aspect, the cladding can be held securely in place to the frame by a keeper bar. The keeper bar can be configured to prevent upward movement of the cladding against the frame.
