Gypsum composites used in fire resistant building components
A composite product includes gypsum in an amount of 60 to 90% by weight, fibers in an amount of 1.5 to 26% by weight substantially homogeneously distributed through the composite, and a rheology-modifying agent in an amount of 0.5 to 6% by weight. The composite is caused or allowed to cure to form a cured composite. The cured composite is a fire resistant component used in a fire-rated door core, a fire-rated door or a fire-rated building panel. The fire resistant component may include a building panel, a door panel, a door core, a door rail, a door stile, a door lock block, a door border, or a door insert.
FIRE DOOR, FRAME, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE FIRE DOOR
A fire door with a frame for arrangement is provided in a wall opening with an opening plane, at least one fire door leaf to be opened at least in sections along an opening normal of the opening plane for fire-retardant closure of the wall opening, at least one vacuum insulation panel for reducing heat transport through the fire door leaf along the opening normal in a closed state of the fire door, and at least one leaf sealing element which connects the frame to the fire door leaf in a wind-tight manner in a closed state of the fire door. The leaf sealing element defines a leaf sealing plane in a closed state of the fire door, which is arranged parallel to the opening plane. A frame and a manufacturing method for the fire door is also provided.
HARDWARE PREPARATION FILLER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FIRE RATED DOORS
A method and system for achieving compliance for a fire-rated door assembly. To comply with fire rated door assembly codes and compliance, all components, including hardware must be listed and labeled by a certification agency, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL). The disclosure may include a hardware preparation filler solution which allows fire-rated doors to maintain fire rating and compliance when removing or modifying hardware, or converting between hardware types.
Door and method of forming a door
A door includes a single panel folded to form a latch face and first and second main faces of the door. The door preferably further includes edge tabs folded to form upper, lower and hinge faces of the door. The panel is preferably a composite panel including an inner metal sheet, an outer metal sheet, and a plastics core material between the metal sheets.
Fire Rated Door
A fire rated door includes a core, a first decorative panel and a second decorative panel. The core includes: (a) a fire resistant center panel having a bottom, a top, a first side, a second side, a first end and a second end, wherein the fire resistant center panel is made of a first fire resistant material, and (b) an extruded fire resistant border attached to the first side, the second side, the first end and the second end of the fire resistant center panel, wherein the extruded fire resistant border is made of a second fire resistant material having a higher density than the first fire resistant material. The first decorative panel is attached to the top of the fire resistant center panel and the extruded fire resistant border. The second decorative panel is attached to the bottom of the fire resistant center panel and the extruded fire resistant border.
HIGH-PRESSURE RESISTANT FABRIC FIRE SHUTTER
A fire shutter for preventing the spread of fire and smoke through an opening such as a door in a building structure that is resistant to pressure from a high-pressure hose. A flexible coated fabric composite, using high-temperature and high-pressure resistant materials. The shutter combines two layers of texturized fiberglass fabric, wherein each layer combines fiberglass and wire strands, with one strand wrapped in a spiral around the other, in both the warp and weft directions. The fabric is impregnated with vermiculite. Each layer of fabric, containing the fiberglass and wire strands, is coated, on an outer portion, with a high temperature stabilized, functionally filled polymer. After exposure to an extreme temperature condition, immediately followed by a standard hose test, the fire shutter functions as a fire partition, without smoke, fire or water penetration, while remaining flexible and allowing for egress.
Firewall access door
A firewall access door includes a rectangular door frame with a rectangular door coupled there to by at least one door hinge. The door consists of a first rectangular pan member and a decorative gypsum wall panel mated together. The door further includes a second rectangular pan member having a flat surface with opposite side walls extending perpendicular from a flat surface of the second rectangular pan member. The side walls of the second rectangular pan member have flanges for mounting to a back surface of the first pan member opposite the gypsum panel and adjacent the side walls of the first rectangular pan member. The second pan member spans the back of the first rectangular pan member and forms an air gap between the flat surface and the back of the rectangular pan member.
Gypsum based compositions and processes for making and using same
Gypsum based compositions, processes for making same, and articles made therefrom. In one example, the gypsum based composition can include about 1.5 wt % to about 3 wt % of a starch, about 11 wt % to about 14 wt % of a paper, about 0.7 wt % to about 2.3 wt % of vermiculite, about 1.3 wt % to about 3 wt % of a plurality of reinforcing fibers, about 7 wt % to about 10 wt % of a binding agent, about 2 wt % to about 4 wt % of perlite, and about 65 wt % to about 75 wt % of a calcium sulfate, where all weight percent values are based on a combined weight of the starch, paper, vermiculite, plurality of reinforcing fibers, binding agent, perlite, and calcium sulfate.
