In yet another aspect, a fenestration supplement frame member includes specially shaped grooves that can accept and retain different types of connectors.
Window frame and/or opening frame
Disclosed is a fixed frame or opening frame, resulting from an assembly of joinery profiles, forming the mullions and the cross-members of the frame, with the profiles of the mullions and the cross-member profiles being assembled by their ends. The frame includes at least one device for compressing, including at least one mechanical connection extending interiorly along an intermediary portion of the frame, the at least one mechanical connection connecting by its ends of supports of the device for compressing, the supports being integral respectively with mullions or cross-members, on either side of the intermediate portion of the frame, the mechanical connection being solicited in traction in order to provide the maintaining under constraint of the ends of the joinery profiles of the intermediate portion of the frame against the corresponding ends of the joinery profiles, arranged on either side of the intermediate portion, belonging to the mullions or cross-members.
Fenestration trim assembly
A corner key for a fenestration trim assembly includes a sloped bearing surface configured to bias a first lineal toward a second lineal about the longitudinal axis of the second lineal.
DOOR ELEMENT OR WALL ELEMENT
A door or wall element includes a frame having four elongated profiles. Two side panels are provided at opposed sides of the frame and are attached to the frame. At least two of the profiles positioned at opposed sides of the frame are provided with a groove situated at the sides of the concerned profiles defining the outer circumferential surface of the frame. Each of the side panels are provided at opposed edges with an upstanding rim fitting into the concerned groove of the frame. The profiles are hollow profiles. The door or wall element includes at least one connection piece provided between two adjacent profiles of the frame, and the connection piece includes a guide surface allowing angular movements between the adjacent profiles during an assembly phase of the door or wall element.
Configurable door system with plural panels
A configurable door system includes a first and second door panel, an astragal, and a frame. The frame defines a first axis and is configured to pivotally support the door panels in a first configuration of the door system and in a second configuration of the door system. The first door panel is disposed to one side of the second door panel along the first axis within the frame in both the first and second configurations. The door system, in the first configuration, includes the astragal fixed to the first door panel and releasably attaches the first door panel to the frame, and the second door panel is releasably secured to the astragal. The door system, in the second configuration, includes the astragal fixed to the second door panel and releasably attaches the second door panel to the frame, and the first door panel is releasably secured to the astragal.
Spacer element for a double glazed article
A spacer element for a double glazed article, a kit for assembling the spacer element, and a double glazed article including the spacer element. The spacer element includes a frame section. The frame section has a first substantially planar mounting surface located on a first side of the frame section for mounting a first sheet of glass on the spacer element at a periphery of the first sheet of glass. The frame section also has a second substantially planar mounting surface located on a second side of the frame section opposite the first side, for mounting a second sheet of glass on the spacer element at a periphery of the second sheet of glass. The spacer element also has a cavity located in-between the first and second mounting surfaces for accommodating a lock and/or roller mechanism of the double glazed article at a periphery of the double glazed article.
Two piece window edge corner system and method for installation
A break-in resistant window assembly whose components include a window pane having at least a pair of edges and a corner; a frame boarding the window pane; a sheet of polymeric film overlying the pane, a first adhesive layer fixedly interconnecting the pane and the sheet of polymeric film; and a corner assembly which includes a base portion and a cover portion which are able to be mechanically locked to each other to complete a corner assembly. The base portion includes adhesive pads for bonding both to the corner of the window pane and the corner of the window frame. Trim pieces which abut the base portion are also bonded to the window pane and the window frame by adhesive pads. The cover portion is arranged to extend over the abutting ends of the base portion and the trim pieces and thereby conceal any mismatch between those abutting edges.
Door Element or Wall Element
A door or wall element includes a frame having four hollow profiles; two side panels at opposed sides of the frame and attached to the frame; at least two of the profiles, positioned at opposed sides of the frame, include a groove at the sides of the profiles defining the outer circumferential surface; and each of the side panels at opposed edges has an upstanding rim fitting into the slot of the frame. The element includes a connection piece between two adjacent profiles of the frame wherein the profiles are mitred and the connection piece includes a body having a cross section matching the inner space of a first profile and inserted therein. The body has a mitred end surface from which at least one toothed part protrudes in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the body and fits in the inner space of an adjacent second profile.
Assembly device
An assembly device is disclosed for attaching first and second hollow frame members together. The assembly device includes a hollow base member having a top wall, four sidewalls and an open bottom surface. The base member also has a hollow tube positioned therein. The assembly device also includes first and second hollow coupling members projecting outward from a top wall and a side wall of said hollow base member. Each of the first and second coupling members has four sidewalls and one or more cavities formed therein. The cavities allow an expandable adhesive that is placed therein to contact the inner periphery of one of the first and second hollow frame members once the first and second hollow frame members are slid onto one of the first or second coupling members. The expandable adhesive will hold the first and second hollow frame members secure to the assembly device.
Cornerlock having a self configurable first body member
A cornerlock is used with a frame assembly. The frame assembly includes first and second frame members each having walls defining interior voids. The cornerlock extends into the interior void of each of the first and second frame members. The cornerlock comprises first and second body members mating with the interior voids of the first and second frame members, respectively. Each body member has proximal and distal ends and are rigidly fixed to one another. The first body member has a leg and an arm both extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The leg is resistant to deflection. The arm is deflectable about the proximal end and immediately deflects upon engagement with the first frame member for engaging the leg with one of the plurality of walls and biasing the arm into engagement with another one of the plurality of walls of the first frame member.
