LOW DOSE PREFILLED DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHOD

A drug delivery device (100) for administering a low dose of a medicament includes a housing (111) and a drug reservoir (101) disposed in the housing (111). A needle (135) is connected to the drug reservoir (101). A pressure applying member (113) is movably connected to the housing (111) and is movable between first and second positions. The pressure applying member (113) does not apply pressure to the drug reservoir (101) in the first position and applies pressure to the drug reservoir (101) in the second position to dispense medicament stored in the drug reservoir (101). A method of administering a low dose of insulin to simulate a first-phase insulin response of a pancreas is also disclosed.

Some people need to carry their medicines with them wherever they go. However, people can damage their medicines by leaving them outside in hot or cold weather. Specially designed systems can help increase safety by notifying people if their medicine is left behind or is getting too hot or cold.

Medicament applicator

Apparatus and methods for inserting a medicament into a body cavity are described. The apparatus comprises an elongate tube with a plunger rod therein. The plunger rod has at least one projection which cooperatively interacts or engages with at least one discontinuity on the inside of the elongate tube so that proximal movement of the plunger rod with respect to the elongate tube expels the medicament into the body cavity.

REVOLVING MULTI-CARTRIDGE HYPODERMIC SYRINGE AND METHOD OF USE
20170290985 · 2017-10-12 ·

A revolving multi-cartridge syringe device includes a needle and two or three revolving holders, each for receiving a cartridge containing medical fluid to be injected. The holders can be pre-loaded with the cartridges, with a first cartridge placed in a loaded position ready to dispense. After fluid in the first cartridge is injected into a patient, a second holder and cartridge are revolved into the loaded position, without breakdown of the syringe. The process can be repeated with a third cartridge. The engagement of each cartridge with the needle and retraction from the needle are implemented by sliding a sliding actuator in either a first direction or a second, opposite, direction, depending on which action is desired. Thus, injection and reloading of the cartridges can be easily actuated by the user through manipulation of a single slidable actuator, without requiring withdrawing the needle from the mouth area to reload.

VETERINARY SYRINGE FOR MULTIPLE INJECTIONS

A trigger operated syringe (100) for intramammary injection of antibiotics has a fluid containing syringe cartridge (203) activated by a plunger (206) which is inserted into the syringe cartridge (203A) and expels fluid when the trigger (205) is pulled. A syringe cartridge holding mechanism (223) holds the syringe cartridge in place until the trigger (205) is released and the plunger (206) retracted. Single syringe cartridge (203) and multiple syringe cartridge (204) versions are disclosed. The plunger moves in a direction which is effectively perpendicular to the direction of movement of the trigger, allowing for ease of injection to a cow's teats, and ejection of the spent cartridges.

Biomedical haemostatic powder dispenser

A biomedical haemostatic powder dispenser (1) by which individual doses of powdered medication that are stored in respective chambers of a rotatable carousel (22) are fluidized for delivery to a targeted treatment site (e.g., a wound in order to stop bleeding). In particular, a squeeze handle (7) is activated (i.e., depressed) so as to cause a blast of gas under pressure to be applied from a gas reservoir (30) to a particular one of the powder-filled chambers of the medication carousel so that a single measured dose of medication is entrained and delivered to the patient. At the same time that the squeeze handle is activated, the medication carousel is rotated so that a different powder-filled chamber is moved within a fluid path between the gas reservoir and an outlet nozzle tube (10) of the dispenser and a kit for dispensing a powder.

Dosing Apparatus

Dosing apparatus comprising a cartridge (11), the cartridge having:a body (13) with a cavity holding at least one product to be dosed,a nozzle (17) which is in communication with the cavity and which is configured for channelling the product to an orifice of an animal, anda recess (21) which is adapted to, or actually does, receive and provide a cover for the nozzle of an identical or similar cartridge.
