Adaptable Assembly
20180051511 · 2018-02-22 ·

Disclosed herein is an adaptable assembly (10) comprising an elastically deformable sheet (12) for at least partially covering an opening. The sheet (12) has a higher flexural rigidity in the first direction A than in the second direction B. At least one actuator (16) is connected to the sheet (12) at two or more points spaced apart in the second direction B. When actuated, the actuator (16) is configured to apply a force between the two or more points to cause the sheet (12) to elastically deform from an initial configuration to an actuated configuration.

MOTORIZED COVERING FOR A WINDOW
20240401404 · 2024-12-05 ·

A motorized covering for a window, including a selectively positionable plurality of slats; a flexible material layer connected to the plurality of slats, the flexible material layer extending generally parallel to the window when the plurality of slats is in the extended position, a plurality of temporary air cells being formed between the plurality of slats, the flexible material layer, and the window when the slats are in the extended position; and a motor system operatively connected to the plurality of slats and the flexible material layer to selectively lower and raise the slats and the flexible material layer, the motor system being configured to lower and raise the plurality of slats and the flexible material layer in response to at least one control signal, the at least one control signal being based on a determination to change an insulation factor for the window.

Window covering

A window covering includes a liner attached to a first rail and window covering material attached to the first rail and the liner such that the window covering material is moveable from a retracted position to an extended position when the liner is moved from its retracted position to its extended position. The window covering material can be configured to define a first number of folds when the window covering material is moved to the retracted position of the window covering material. The liner can be configured to define a second number of folds when the liner is moved to the retracted position of the liner. The second number of folds can be a number of folds that is at least 50% larger than the first number of folds formed in the window covering material when it is moved to its retracted position.

Retractable shade for coverings for architectural openings

A retractable cellular shade is illustrated in various embodiments to consist of a support structure that could assume numerous forms including cellular material, flexible sheets of material, tapes or ribbons, or flexible monofilaments or similar cords of natural or synthetic fibers with the support structure supporting a plurality of vanes or slats in various configurations and orientations. The movement of the vanes or slats is totally dependent upon movement of the support structure. The fabric so formed can be incorporated into a covering for architectural openings with the covering including a headrail with means for gathering the fabric material within the headrail.

SYSTEM FOR BIASING SHEET OF MATERIAL TO GATHER IN PREDETERMINED DIRECTION

A system for biasing or encouraging a sheet of material to gather in one direction when one edge of the sheet of material is moved toward an opposite edge of the sheet of material is provided. A plurality of strips of material may extend along a face of the sheet of material and may be laminated to the face of the sheet of material. The plurality of strips of material may overlap each other and may define stiffened regions extending along the overlapped interface between the plurality of strips of material. When the covering is moved from an extended position to a retracted position, the sheet of material may gather in loops of material that may have apexes defined at or adjacent the overlapped interfaces of the plurality of strips of material.

Cordless blind assembly

A window curtain includes a first curtain body and multiple second curtain bodies attached to the first curtain body. The first curtain body allows light to penetrate therethrough. Each second curtain body has a connection edge formed on the top edge thereof so as to be connected to the first curtain body. Multiple first magnet units and multiple second magnet units are connected to the rear side of each second curtain body. The rear side faces the first curtain body. When folding either of the second curtain bodies relative to the first curtain body, the first and second magnet units are magnetically attracted to each other.

RETRACTABLE SHADE WITH COLLAPSIBLE VANES

A retractable cover for architectural openings having collapsible vanes includes a support structure in the form of a sheet of material, monofilaments, tapes, ribbons, cords, or the like, supporting an upper edge of a plurality of vertically spaced, horizontally extending vanes with the lower edges of the vanes in most embodiments of the invention being connected to operating elements adapted to raise the lower edges of each vane toward the upper edges to define openings or gaps between the vanes through which vision and light can pass in an open condition of the covering. Variations of the covering do not require movement of a lower edge of a vane relative to an upper edge but simply movement of some vanes relative to other vanes. The vanes can be made of materials having different flexibilities and where more rigid materials are used, creased fold lines can be established for desired operability.

Covering for architectural opening including cell structures biased to open

A covering for an architectural opening including a support tube and a panel operably connected to the support tube and configured to be wound around the support tube. The panel includes a support sheet and at least one cell operably connected to the support sheet. The at least one cell includes a vane material operably connected to a first side of the support sheet and a cell support member operably connected to the vane material and configured to support the vane material at a distance away from the support sheet when the panel is in an extended position with respect to the support tube.
