SYRINGE INFUSION DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR DELIVERY OF ACTIVE AGENTS
A pump device (10) operable with a syringe (11) having a barrel (12) and a plunger (13). The pump device (10) is operable to cause relative movement between the syringe plunger (13) and the syringe barrel (12) for discharging fluid from the syringe (11). The pump device (10) comprises a portion (31) adapted to engage the syringe barrel (12), and a drive mechanism for moving the syringe plunger (13) relative to the syringe barrel (12) to discharge fluid from the syringe (11). The drive mechanism comprises an actuator (45) adapted to engage the syringe plunger (13) and a power mechanism (61) for moving the actuator (45) to effect movement of the syringe plunger (13) relative to the syringe barrel (12). The pump device (10) thus provides a syringe driving means. There is also provided an infusion system comprising a syringe driving means, the syringe driving means comprising the pump device (10). Further, there is provided an infusion system comprising a syringe driving means operable to maintain a constant pressure within a syringe and tubing with viscosity corrections for various antibiotic concentrations.
MEDICAL PUMP DEVICE FOR CONVEYING A MEDICAL FLUID
A pump device for conveying medical fluid includes an elastomeric membrane forming a pump volume. The membrane is elastically expanded in a filling state of the pump volume with medical fluid. The expanded membrane exerts a delivery pressure on the pump volume to deliver medical fluid into a fluid-line system. The pump device also has a throttle device with a channel having an inlet connected to the pump volume and an outlet connectable to the fluid-line system. Delivery of medical fluid through the outlet is finely adjustable to a defined flow rate at the time of manufacture. The throttle device has a first body and a second body. The channel is formed between oppositely arranged surfaces of the bodies. The surfaces are movable relative to each other for fine adjustment of the flow rate at the time of manufacture, so that an effective length of the channel is variable.
Adhesive and peripheral systems and methods for medical devices
A repeater system may control a pump by using a repeater and a user interface. An adhesive patch system may be used for affixing a pump or other object to a human body. Such an adhesive patch system may include two sets of adhesive members, each member including an adhesive material on at least one side so as to attach to the body. The members of the first set are spaced to allow the members of the second set to attach to the body in spaces provided between the members of the first set, and the members of the second set are spaced to allow members of the first set to detach from the body without detaching the members of the second set. Also, fill stations and base stations are provided for personal pump systems.
Infusion device with a hydrophilic sintered porous plastic or hydrophilic porous fiber air stop filter
The present invention provides infusion devices, such as intravascular (IV) devices, comprising a hydrophilic sintered porous plastic filter or a hydrophilic porous fiber filter which are effective at stopping or greatly reducing transmission of air through the filter.
AIR FILTER FOR MEDICINAL LIQUID INJECTION AND MEDICINAL LIQUID INJECTION APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME
An air filter device for medicinal liquid injection in which a medicinal liquid channel is formed includes: a housing having an air passage that diverges from the medicinal liquid channel and is connected to outside; a hydrophilic boundary filter disposed in the medicinal liquid channel and dividing the medicinal liquid channel into a first channel at an upstream side and a second channel at a downstream side; and a hydrophobic air-passing filter disposed at a boundary between the air passage and the first channel.
Ultra-microinjection detection and control device based on lensless imaging and method thereof
The present invention provides an ultra-microinjection detection and control device based on lensless imaging and a method thereof. A lensless optical liquid level sensor is used to measure a change of a liquid level in an injection needle. A microinjection control unit is used to track the change of the liquid level and correct an injection pressure of the injection pump. Transmitted light generated by a parallel light source passes through a transparent glass tube of the injection needle. Then the transmitted light passes through a light filtering film to reduce the intensity of the parallel light source to a photosensitivity range of a micro linear array image sensor chip. Finally, the transmitted light enters the micro linear array image sensor chip, so that the micro linear array image sensor chip measures the change of the liquid level in the injection needle.
Patch-sized fluid delivery system
A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.
KEEP VEIN OPEN INFUSION FLOW CONTROL DEVICE
Keep vein open (KVO) infusion flow control devices are provided. The KVO infusion flow control device couples to intravenous (IV) tubing and includes a flow controller that provides a full open fluid flow rate through an outlet portion of the IV tubing when the flow controller is in an open position, and a KVO fluid flow rate through the outlet portion of the IV tubing when the flow controller is in a KVO position. Visual indicators are disposed on the KVO infusion flow control device.
HEMOLYSIS-REDUCTION CONNECTOR FOR DIRECT BLOOD DRAW
A flow restriction device may include a male luer connector portion and a female luer connector portion. The male luer connector portion can define a cavity and a first lumen in fluid-flow continuity with the cavity. The female luer connector portion defines a second lumen and an extension in fluid-flow continuity with the second lumen. The extension includes a first end, a second end, an outer surface, and a channel. The channel is defined on the outer surface. The channel is helically disposed around the outer surface of the extension and extends between the first and second ends. The extension is configured to be at least partially disposed within the cavity. The channel and the inner surface of the cavity define a fluid passage in fluid-flow continuity with the first lumen and the second lumen.
