Stepladders and related methods of using and manufacturing stepladders are provided. In one embodiment, a stepladder is provided that comprises a top cap, a first assembly and a second assembly. The first assembly has a pair of spaced apart rails pivotally coupled with the top cap. The second assembly includes at least one rail pivotally coupled with the top cap. The first assembly and second assembly are configured to be displaced relative one another such that the stepladder is selectively positionable between a first, deployed state and a second, collapsed state. The first assembly, the second assembly and the top cap are cooperatively configured such that the at least one rail of the second assembly is at least partially nested within an envelope defined by the pair of spaced apart rails of the first assembly with the step ladder is in a collapsed state.

Provided herein is a ladder that includes a cantilevered step. The ladder, for example, may be a stepladder ladder having a cantilevered step disposed at one or more positions on a rail assembly, for example on the front rail assembly. In one illustrative configuration, the cantilevered step may include a first or secured portion that is disposed between a first rail and a second rail of the rail assembly. The cantilevered step may also include a second or extended portion that is cantilevered from the first portion and extends beyond the first rail and the second rail. The second or extended portion of the cantilevered step may be coupled to the first or secured portion along at least two discrete attachment surfaces.

A ladder that includes two side rails, with each side rail having a cross-sectional shape defining an at least partially enclosed channel including an outer wall. The first and second lateral walls extend inward from the outer wall, and the first lateral wall includes a first offset defining a first inner wall. Each of the lateral walls extends further inward beyond the first inner wall to define first and second connecting walls of the side rail. The ladder also includes a plurality of rungs extending between the side rails, with each of the rungs being attached to the first and second connecting walls of the side rails.

A scaffold stairway having two spaced-apart side rails designed as hollow profiles and a plurality of separate steps. The steps can be fastened by their free ends in holding devices for holding the steps that are designed as grooves on the mutually facing lateral faces of the side rails. The free ends of the steps lie on a groove flank or a groove flank portion. As a result, the side rails can be coupled.
