A modular reaming device incorporable into a tubular string. The modular reamer can include a tubular body having a first end and a second end and an internal bore, the internal bore extending longitudinally through the tubular body from the first end to the second end. The tubular body has an external surface with an outer diameter with cutting elements extending from the tubular body beyond the outer diameter of the tubular body for engagement with a bore hole sidewall. Each of the first and second ends have a coupling for coupling engagement with a tubular string.

An end of the armored cable is connected to a control system, and the other end is connected to the fishing device in the drill pipe. A fishing head of the fishing device is connected to a spearhead of the core tube.

A drilling rig and methods are provided for using multiple types of drilling when installing geothermal systems. The drilling rig can perform sonic drilling such as percussive sonic drilling and a type of non-sonic drilling. Control switching valves are added to the hydraulics of the drilling rig to selectively provide sufficient flow of hydraulic fluid to motors used in the multiple types of drilling, depending on which type of drilling is currently most efficient for the underground formation being drilled. The water pump and hydraulic motor for such have been designed to handle both types of drilling on a small drilling rig frame, thereby allowing for the drilling to occur in space-constrained environments. A method of recycling water used to remove cuttings during drilling to put back downhole is also provided.

The device also comprises a displacement excitation device arranged at a proximal end of the fluid column and configured to excite the fluid column to cause the working fluid in the fluid column to oscillate, wherein the excitation device is configured to excite the fluid column at an excitation frequency at or within 10% of a natural frequency of the fluid column determined based on the fluid column having a fixed boundary condition at a proximal end thereof. The device further comprises a tool piston moveably mounted at a distal end of the fluid column and a drilling tool connected to the tool piston such that the oscillation of the working fluid in the fluid column imparts an oscillating force to the drilling tool.

The auxiliary chambers are formed around respective waists on the piston and externally delimited by respective cylinders which are arranged longitudinally in series. A set of supply chambers filled with the pressurized fluid are defined by annular recesses in the external surface of the piston for supplying said fluid to the chambers. Supply channels and discharge channels are formed in between the outer casing and the cylinders for respectively supply pressurized fluid through exit ports in the cylinders to the supply chambers and emptying the chambers through discharge ports in the cylinders. The supply and discharge of the chambers is controlled in a cooperative way by the piston and the cylinders. A normal circulation drill hammers is provided having this system.
