Adjustable rebar centralizer for use in a drilled shaft/bore hole
A system for centering a reinforcing member within a drilled shaft/bore hole includes a first cage member and a second cage member. The first cage member is operable to surround a first half of the reinforcing member. The second cage member is operable to surround a second half of the reinforcing member. The second cage member is operably connected to the first cage member, and the first and second cage members have identical shapes.
Clamp having a core layer of rigid polyurethane
A creep resistant material comprises a core layer (12) of rigid polyurethane with a first tensile reinforcement layer (17) applied on one surface and a second tensile reinforcement layer (17) applied on the other opposed surface of the core layer, the entire respective first and second tensile reinforcement layers being in contact with the first and second surface of the core layer of the material.
Bend restrictor
An apparatus (1) for restricting the bending of a tubular member underwater comprises a plurality of interlocking modules each formed from a first half shell component (2) circumferentially displaced from a second half-shell component (3), wherein the first half shell component comprises one or more projections (19) extending from a side edge (18) thereof and the second half shell component comprises one or more grooves (21) in a side edge (18) thereof, the projections and grooves being angled to the side edges of the first and second half shell components, the arrangement being such that when assembled together each of the one of more projections of the first half shell component are inter-engaged with a corresponding groove of the second half shell component to secure the two half shells together.
Modified Tubular
A modified tubular, particularly a drill pipe (12) has a composite non-rotating drill pipe protector assembly (1) including first and second composite collars (2, 3) provided as cooperating parts positionable around the drill pipe (12) and bondable thereto using bonding agent, a non-rotating composite protector shell (4), provided as cooperating shell parts and an internal polymeric radial bearing (7) which fits within a recess (41) within the non-rotating composite protector shell (4) and has an internal surface (10) configured to provide a plurality of internal fluid flow channels (11). An external surface of the non-rotating composite protector shell (4) has blades (14), spaced apart by fluid flow by-pass channels (24). In use the rotation of the drill pipe facilitates fluid movement within the non-rotating composite protector shell by creating a pumping effect inducing ingress of fluid and through-flow within the internal polymeric radial bearing (7).
Casing friction reduction methods and tool
Systems and methods for reducing friction between a casing string and a bore of a subterranean well when moving the casing string within the bore of a subterranean well include a roller bearing assembly. The roller bearing assembly has a bearing body and a plurality of spherical bearings spaced around an outer diameter of the bearing body. The bearing body is sized to be removably attached to an outer diameter of the casing string and to be stationary relative to the casing string.
SUCKER ROD GUIDES
A sucker rod guide having low friction and high wear resistance is disclosed herein, along with a fluid extraction system comprising the same. At least a part of the exterior surface of the sucker rod guide is formed from a cold worked and spinodally-hardenable or spinodally-hardened copper alloy comprising from about 5 to about 20 wt % nickel, and from about 5 to about 10 wt % tin, the remaining balance being copper, and having a 0.2% offset yield strength of at least 75 ksi. The guide includes a smoothbore adapted to surround and engage the surface of a sucker rod. The exterior surface of the guide can include grooves miming between the two ends. In particular embodiments, the guide is made by joining together two identical guide segments. In other embodiments, the guide is a single integral piece molded around a sucker rod.
Drill string apparatus with integrated annular barrier and port collar, methods, and systems
A drill string apparatus includes an upper casing section having a port collar. The port collar provides a controllable opening from an interior of the upper casing section to an annulus around the upper casing section. A lower casing section is coupled to the upper casing section through a swivel. The lower casing section includes an external casing packer and a casing pad coupled to an external portion of the lower casing section. The external casing packer is expandable to an annulus around the lower casing section before a cement operation to avoid cement loss circulation to weak formation below the packer.
Drill pipe torque reducer and method
An apparatus and method for reducing torque in a drill string, in which the apparatus includes a first clamp assembly including a plurality of arcuate clamp segments that are pivotally connected together, the plurality of arcuate clamp segments being configured to be positioned around and secured to an oilfield tubular so as to be rotationally fixed to the oilfield tubular, and an outer sleeve positioned around the first clamp assembly. The outer sleeve includes at least two sleeve segments assembled together to form a generally cylindrical sleeve around the first clamp assembly, and the first clamp assembly is configured to rotate with the oilfield tubular and with respect to the outer sleeve.
