Wiper ring assembly with energizing member
A downhole pump is used for a reciprocating pump system having a rod string disposed in a tubing string. A barrel of the pump is disposed, and a plunger of the pump coupled to the rod string is movably disposed in the barrel. The plunger has an external surface disposed at an annular gap relative to the barrel's internal surface. The external surface has circumferential grooves defined thereabout that hold wipers. An inner ring of the wipers composed of a swellable material is engaged in the one or more circumferential grooves, while an outer ring composed of a second material is disposed about the inner ring. The swellable material of the inner ring energizes the outer ring in slideable engagement with the internal surface of the barrel.

Hydrostatically actuable downhole piston
A hydrostatically actuable downhole piston apparatus for use in a wellbore, comprising glide spacers disposed in the primary chamber, capable of mitigating the deflection of the piston and other hydrostatic components at elevated wellbore hydrostatic pressures. The disclosed apparatus is suited for, among other applications, the hydrostatic setting of a downhole tool, such as a packer, in a wellbore. A method and system for hydrostatically setting a downhole tool using glide spacers disposed in the primary chamber of the downhole tool.

ELECTRIC TONG WITH ONBOARD HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT
A method and apparatus for local hydraulic power generation on an electric tong, including a power tong for spinning tubulars; a first electric motor functionally connected to the power tong; a plurality of hydraulic power consumers including a backup tong for clamping a tubular string; a second electric motor functionally connected to the plurality of hydraulic power consumers; electronics to drive the first electric motor and the second electric motor; and a switchbox providing at least two configurations of the system. A method includes arranging a tong system in a hydraulic power configuration; supplying hydraulic power with an onboard electric motor to at least one of a plurality of hydraulic power consumers to position a tubular for make-up; arranging the tong system in a rotary drive configuration; supplying at least one of torque and rotation with the onboard electric motor to a power tong.
Rotating control device head installer and remover
A device and method for installing a pipe into a rotating control device (RCD) head and for removing a pipe out from a RCD head are described. The device includes a body section for receiving and securing a RCD head placed thereon; and a scoping section configured to secure a first end of the pipe, and to push the first end of the pipe into a bore of the RCD head or to pull the first end of the pipe out from bore of the RCD head. The body section is configured to be substantially stationary when the scoping section pushes the first end of the pipe into the bore of the RCD head, or when the scoping section pulls the first end of the pipe out from the bore of the RCD head.
Swivel connection tool
A swivel connection tool holds a tubular of a work string or a drill string while a swivel connects or disconnects from the tubular. The swivel connection tool has a base mounted to a work floor of a derrick of a workover rig. The swivel connection tool is fixed spaced-apart from a hole in the work floor positioned over the wellhead. The swivel connection tool has a yoke oriented at an incline with respect to horizontal.
Drillpipe Spinner
An improved drillpipe spinner having a drillpipe spinner frame mounted to a hanging tree, a spinner arm frame assembly, two drive roller shaft assemblies, two pressure roller assemblies, two idler shaft assemblies, a single hydraulic motor, a gear cover, two spinner gripper cylinders and steel heat treated knurled rollers. A cluster of gears mounted in place, with the hydraulic motor to drive the cluster of gears, turn the steel knurled rollers. The two hydraulic cylinders are extended to engage the pressure rollers. The engaged spinner turns the drillpipe for makeup or spinout operation.
Apparatus and methods for tong operation
A tong includes a frame having jaws configured to engage a tubular and a tong control assembly disposed on the frame. The tong control assembly includes a housing connected to the frame, a shutoff switch, and a toggle lever located at a suitable position on the housing, whereby the toggle lever is configured to be operated while the shutoff switch is depressed, and wherein the toggle lever is configured to control at least one of: a rotational speed of the jaws and a rotational direction of the jaws. A method of operating a tong includes clamping a first tubular using first jaws of a tong, clamping a second tubular using second jaws of the tong, rotating the first tubular relative to the second tubular, and controlling a rotational speed of the first tubular using a toggle lever disposed on a frame of the tong.
Apparatus and methods for gripping a tubular member
Gripping apparatus includes a body, a pair of legs extending from the body and separated by a gap, and a gripping head opposite the legs. A magnet or other adhering fastener is supported on an inwardly facing surface of the legs. The legs straddle an extendable member of a chuck device, the adhering fastener retaining the body on the extendable member. The gripping head includes teeth or another gripping surface for engaging a tubular member that is disposed in the chuck.
