Packer
A morphable packer and method of setting the packer to anchor one tubular within another tubular or borehole, and create a seal across an annulus in a well bore. The packer is formed as a single tubular member having a central section between end sections. Undulations are formed on the tubular member to create recesses in which annular slips having oppositely arranged inclined surfaces and an outer gripping surface are located to provide an anchoring arrangement. When morphed the slips move uniformly radially outwards and anchor to an outer tubular. Embodiments include pairs of reversed slips located in the recess, pairs of anchoring arrangements located along the tubular member and a gasket seal arranged around the tubular member.
Relating to well abandonment and slot recovery
A resettable mechanism and a method of controlled actuation of a hydraulically operated downhole tool to allow selective operation of the downhole tool in a wellbore. The resettable mechanism provides an inner sleeve member which is longitudinally moveable between a first and second position which opens and closes a fluid pathway to at least one actuation port on the downhole tool. Movement of the inner sleeve member is controlled via an indexing mechanism operated by drop balls. An embodiment of a casing recovery system is described mechanism operated wherein a downhole pulling tool is selectively actuated so as to prevent operation of the pulling tool while a hydraulically operated casing cutter is cutting casing.
HYDRAULIC DRILLING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A hydraulic drilling system and method for drilling a borehole from a wellbore are disclosed. The system comprises a whipstock that is selectively rotatable about the central long axis of the work string, for repositioning the whipstock exit radially, without extracting the whipstock or the workstring from the wellbore. The system includes an extendable and contractible second work string for absorbing any axial forces on the work string. The system may also include a positional measurement device and the distal end of the drill tubing may be selectively steerable. The system may be used to drill a plurality of boreholes from the same wellbore. In one aspect of the method, an earth measurement device and/or an earth manipulation device is placed downhole.
DOWNHOLE TOOL WITH MULTI-STAGE ANCHORING
A downhole tool includes a tool body and an anchoring device integrated with the tool body. The anchoring device includes a contact pad that is at least partially external to the tool body, the contact pad having multiple stages with different thicknesses. The anchoring tool also includes a first linear actuator and a second linear actuator. The first linear actuator is configured to move the contact pad axially with respect to the tool body to align one of the multiple stages with the second linear actuator. The second linear actuator is configured to apply a radial force to the contact pad.
Slip subsystem, method and system
A slip subsystem, including a slip having wickers angled in a first direction and wickers angled in a second direction opposite the first direction, an engager disposed adjacent the slip to selectively engage the wickers, and a biaser to bias the engager into engagement with the wickers. An anchor including a housing having a slip ramp, a drive plate, a power spring to bias the drive plate, a slip subsystem operably connected with the housing. A method for setting an anchor in a borehole, including driving a drive plate into a slip, forcing the slip to climb a housing, engaging an activation block with the slip to prevent slip movement relative to the housing in an anti-setting direction. A borehole system, including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and a slip subsystem disposed within or as a part of the string.

Landing system
A system includes a landing system with a landing member configured to move between an extended position and a retracted position inside an axial bore of a mineral extraction system component. The landing system further includes a shaft configured to drive the landing member in a first radial direction. The landing system further includes an actuation system configured to move the shaft in the first radial direction within the axial bore to move the landing member into the extended position. The landing system further includes a spring configured to drive the shaft in a second radial direction to retract the landing member.
