SEALING ASSEMBLY FOR WELLBORE OPERATIONS
A sealing assembly is disclosed, the sealing assembly comprising a plurality of components including an upper sealing element and a lower sealing element, the sealing assembly configured to encircle a tubular string positioned within a casing of a wellbore. The sealing assembly is configured to be actuatable to extend sealing elements between the tubular string and an inner surface of the casing to form a fluid seal between the tubular element and the inner surface of the casing.
Running lines through expandable metal sealing elements
Methods for traversing an expandable metal sealing element. An example method includes positioning an expandable metal sealing element in a wellbore; wherein the expandable metal sealing element includes a reactive metal and a void extending axially through at least a portion of the expandable metal sealing element. The method further includes disposing a line in the void and contacting the expandable metal sealing element with a fluid that reacts with the reactive metal to produce a reaction product having a volume greater than the reactive metal, wherein the reaction product seals around the line while it is disposed in the void.
INDIVIDUAL SEPARATE CHUNKS OF EXPANDABLE METAL
Provided is a downhole tool, a method for sealing within a well system, and a well system. The downhole tool, in at least one aspect, includes a tubular, and a collection of individual separate chunks of expandable metal positioned about the tubular, the collection of individual separate chunks of expandable metal comprising a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis.
Sealing apparatus with swellable metal
A sealing apparatus includes a swellable metal. The swellable metal, when exposed to a fluid, is transitionable from an initial configuration having an initial volume to an expanded configuration having an increased volume. The swellable metal, upon transitioning to the expanded configuration in an annulus of a fluid channel, forms a seal against a surface of the fluid channel such that fluid communication across the swellable metal in the annulus is at least partially restricted.
A DEVICE COMPRISING A DISSOLVABLE MATERIAL FOR USE IN A WELLBORE
A device is for use in a wellbore. The device has a dissolvable material for being dissolved over a limited time period and an electrically insulating material covering a portion of the dissolvable material for keeping the dissolvable material out of contact with any more noble material when the device is in use. A tubing has the device for use of the device.
Hollow annular seal for equipment disposed in a subsea environment
A hollow annular seal for sealing two concentric components in a subsea environment is disclosed. The hollow annular seal is constructed from an elastomeric material with a hollow core. The hollow annular seal also includes a plurality of apertures to allow fluid to flow through the apertures and into the hollow core to prevent collapse of the fluid filled, hollow annular seal.
LINER DEPLOYMENT TOOL
A gravel pack system includes a liner assembly and a deployment assembly. The liner assembly includes a sand control screen. The deployment assembly facilitates rotation of the liner assembly and circulation through the liner assembly while running the liner assembly into a wellbore using a work string. The deployment assembly includes a crossover tool that is operated to facilitate gravel packing without manipulation of the work string. The deployment assembly also includes a setting tool for setting a packer and/or a sand barrier at the top of the liner assembly.
Method and Apparatus for providing a ball-in-place plug activated by cup and internal continuous expansion mechanism
A plug assembly, dedicated for ball-in-place operation, includes an expandable assembly, a locking ring, a cup and studs, to be deployed using a retrievable setting tool. The expandable assembly is adapted to be deformed radially over the locking ring and the cup, while the locking ring is retained longitudinally relative to a mandrel of the retrievable setting tool, thanks to the studs positioned within the cup. The locking ring has a stopping inner surface. The combination of the cup and an untethered object is adapted to contact an inner surface of the plug assembly and, using well fluid pressure, to apply forces to the plug assembly. The forces cause the longitudinal movement of the cup and untethered objects while contacting the inner surface of the plug assembly until the cup contacts the stopping inner surface of the locking ring.
Methods of production of oil and gas service plugs
A method of production of a frac plug is disclosed comprising providing a blank defining an interior of the frac plug, placing a glass material around the blank such that a fiber reinforcement within the glass material is off axis to a longitudinal axis of the frac plug and wherein the placing forms a glass material blank, removing the blank from the glass material blank and performing at least one mechanical processing of an exterior of the glass material blank.
DISSOLVABLE PLUG REMOVAL WITH EROSIVE TOOL
Methods of plugging a hydrocarbon well by using degradable plugs are provided. When the plug is no longer needed, a degradation fluid or fluids are pumped downhole under high pressure, typically via jet, such that the degradation fluid provides an erosive force to the degradable plug, thus both speeding its degradation and preventing or minimizing the leaving of solid plug material remnants in the well.
