Use of multiple charged cationic compounds derived from polyamines for clay stabilization in oil and gas operations
Multiple charged cationic compounds, which are derived from polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compound, in a clay treatment composition to reduces clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation in a subterranean formation in oil and gas operations are provided. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions commonly used for reducing clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation.

METHOD FOR PREPARING A WELLBORE
There is provided a method for preparing a wellbore for insertion of a barrier, the method comprising: providing a section of tubing or formation within the wellbore having a modified internal surface that is shaped such that a region adjacent the modified internal surface can be filled with barrier material and the barrier material can solidify to interlock with and be anchored by the modified internal surface.

METHOD FOR ENGINEERED GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM TREATMENT USING BRINES
A method of repairing a well is provided. The method includes injecting a brine solution into the well, injecting carbon dioxide into the well, and reacting the brine solution in the reservoir rock with the carbon dioxide to form calcite such that calcite precipitates into the desired flow path between a cold well and a hot well to effectively repair short circuits within the EGS reservoir.
EVALUATING ANNULAR MATERIAL IN A WELLBORE USING TRANSIENT THERMAL RESPONSE DATA
A method for identifying zones in an annulus with poor cementing that may include deploying a fiber optic cable within the wellbore, creating a temperature gradient in the wellbore, and collecting temperature data over a period of time as the wellbore returns to a thermal equilibrium. The method may also include comparing the temperature data collected by the fiber optic cable at one or more locations to predicted temperature data over the period of time at the one or more locations to identify locations where the measured temperature data deviates from the predicted temperature data for identifying locations or zones of the annulus that have poor cementing.

Method for preventing influx of fluid during fracturing of an offset well
Method is provided for preventing fluid from entering a well, such as a producing well, during a hydraulic fracturing treatment in another well completed in the same reservoir. Degradable ball sealers or degradable particulate material is injected into the well and pressure is maintained in the well during the fracturing treatment to prevent influx of fluid.

Compositions and methods for enhanced oil recovery from low permeability formations
The present invention provides compositions and methods for enhancing oil recovery from low permeability subterranean formation using three mechanisms: repressurization; reduction of interfacial tension; and increased permeability. The subject compositions comprise a chelating agent, a biosurfactant, a carbonate or bicarbonate salt, water, and a pH adjusting substance, which when applied to an oil-bearing formation according to the methods of the subject invention, allow for controlled release of carbon dioxide within the formation without complicated machinery or gas-producing microorganisms.
