An equalizing cartridge is arranged in the passage. The equalizing cartridge includes an equalizing housing and an equalizing plunger including an activation end provided at the first side of the flapper member.

BALANCE LINE CONTROL SYSTEM WITH RESET FEATURE FOR FLOATING PISTON

An operating control line is in communication with an operating piston for the safety valve as well as an equalizing piston such that pressure in the operating control line opens the safety valve and holds the equalizer valve closed. A balance chamber receives fluid from an operating piston in the safety valve when the valve opens to displace a floating piston to the open position. Operating control line pressure reduction allows valve closure and opposite floating piston movement to the closed position. If the floating piston is forced by a tubing seal leak against the open position travel stop, pressure in a balance control line against the equalizing valve member moves it from a seat to then equalize pressure on opposed ends of the floating piston allowing a bias force to move the floating piston off the open position stop so the safety valve can open despite the tubing leak.

Apparatus and method for stimulating subterranean formations

A method of stimulating a subterranean formation using a tubular member with one or more burst disks therein.

Equalizing cartridge for a flapper valve

The equalizing cartridge includes an equalizing housing and an equalizing plunger including an activation end provided at the first side of the flapper member.

Equalizing device for safety valves

A subsurface safety valve for controlling fluid flow in a well conduit incorporating a pressure equalizing feature. The safety valve includes a body member having a longitudinal bore, a valve actuator having axial movement within the longitudinal bore and a valve that restricts flow through the longitudinal bore. An equalization fluid flow passageway provides a fluid path between the longitudinal bore above the valve and the longitudinal bore below the valve. An equalizing device is located within the equalization fluid flow passageway and configured to resist sand and debris effects on its operation, the equalizing device regulating flow through the equalization fluid flow passageway and operated by the valve actuator prior to opening the valve.

Multi-ball valve assembly

This disclosure provides a multi-ball valve assembly that lessens the pressure applied from either uphole or downhole directions by directing a portion of the pressure into a sealed fluid chamber area between two balls that are operatively coupled together by one or more control arms. The multi-ball valve assembly may be a floating design where the balls move axially with respect to each other or fixed designs that use either pressure relief valves or biased travel piston valves to divert a portion of the pressure into the fluid chamber area, thereby lessening the distortion of the face of the ball valve against which fluid pressure is being applied.

Valve apparatus

A valve apparatus, such as a downhole valve apparatus, includes a housing having a flow path therein and a valve member mounted within the housing and being operable between closed and open configurations to control flow along the flow path. An actuator assembly is moveable from a first position to a second position to sequentially perform first and second actuation functions, the first actuation function being associated with the operation of an auxiliary system, and the second actuation function opening the valve member from its closed configuration.

WELLBORE SLEEVE INJECTOR AND METHOD

An apparatus, system, and method are provided for injecting carrier sleeves into a wellbore. The injection system is capable of individually indexing a selected sleeve from a sleeve magazine into an injector bore and axially aligning the sleeve with the bore with a retaining device. The retaining device prevents a subsequent sleeve from being indexed into the bore from the magazine. The selected sleeve can be restricted from free fall using a staging mechanism, which can subsequently be opened to permit the selected sleeve to fall into a staging bore. The staging bore is then fluidly isolated from the injector bore and the wellbore, pressure in the staging bore is equalized with the wellbore, and then opened to the wellbore for injecting the sleeve into the wellbore. The sleeve can be axially aligned and radially centered with the injector bore using a tapered portion in the bore or the staging mechanism.
