DOWNHOLE TOOL MEMBER COMPRISING A BRANCHED POLY(HYDROXYACID)
The invention relates to downhole tools comprising members comprising branched poly(hydroxyacid) polymers provided with improved degradation rate when in contact with water.
All mechanical counter dart, system and method
An all mechanical counter dart including a mandrel, a plurality of shoulder members disposed upon the mandrel and movable from a more downhole portion of the mandrel to a more uphole portion of the mandrel, individual ones of the plurality of shoulder members moving from an inactive position to an active position and back to an inactive position while traversing the mandrel, and an upset on the mandrel supporting the individual ones of the plurality of shoulder members when in the active position.
SELF-REGULATING FRAC PUMP SUCTION STABILIZER/DAMPENER
A hydraulic fracturing pump system includes an electric powered hydraulic fracturing pump positioned on a support structure. The system also includes a suction stabilizer/dampener coupled to a suction end of the pump. The system further includes a compressed gas supply, fluidly coupled to the suction stabilizer/dampener, and positioned on the support structure. The system also includes a flow path between the suction stabilizer/dampener and the compressed gas supply, the flow path including at least one valve and at least one regulator configured to control flow from the compressed gas supply to the suction stabilizer/dampener.
DART FOR DOWNHOLE DEVICE AND DOWNHOLE DEVICE
In a dart for a downhole device according to the present invention, a ball is formed of a first degradable material having a first degradation rate, a mandrel is formed of a second degradable material having a second degradation rate lower than the first degradation rate, and a sleeve is formed of the second degradable material or a third degradable material having a third degradation rate lower than the second degradation rate.
Ball seat release apparatus
Provided, in one aspect, is a ball seat release apparatus. The ball seat release apparatus, according to this embodiment, includes a shear sleeve, and a ball seat body located at least partially within the shear sleeve, a shear feature releasably coupling the ball seat body to the shear sleeve. The ball seat release apparatus according to this aspect further includes a ball seat slidingly engaged within the ball seat body, the ball seat configured to move from a first linear position to a second linear position, and further wherein a locking dog releasably couples the ball seat with the ball seat body.
Multiple system ports using a time delay valve
A multi-functional well completion apparatus and method of operation thereof that offers the ability, in a single trip and with limited running tool manipulation, to perform downhole completion operations, such as gravel pack operations or sand control frac or other fluid stimulation operations is described. The well completion tool has multiple functions or operational positions by using a self-closing time delay valve without the need of service tools, thereby saving rig time, reducing operating costs and operational risks associated with tripping service tools into and out of a wellbore.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACTIVATING A PRESSURE-SENSITIVE DOWNHOLE TOOL
Apparatus, systems, and methods are used for activating a downhole tool, powered by an exothermic reaction, for operation, while deploying a tubing string from a wellbore surface. The tubing string comprises a coupling for enabling pressurized activation of the downhole tool, which comprises a fuel (e.g., thermite) for producing the exothermic reaction. The coupling enables fluid to flow into an interior of the coupling through a first flow passage, during descent of the downhole tool. A stopper is dropped and/or seated to cause the coupling interior to pressurize to an activation pressure, which causes an activator to activate a burn within the downhole tool. Once the downhole tool completes its operation, the coupling interior is further pressurized to burst a burst disc, which opens a second flow passage for fluid to flow from the interior to exterior of the coupling, while downhole tool and coupling are raised to the surface.
One piece frac plug
A collet comprising a collet ring, a plurality of collet fingers, and an object seat (e.g., ball seat), wherein the object seat comprises a surface (e.g., a curved surface) configured to interface with a correspondingly sized blocking object (e.g., a ball, dart, etc.) to form a seal therebetween, wherein each of the plurality of collet fingers has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is proximate the collet ring, and wherein the second end of at least a portion of the plurality of collet fingers comprises a key (e.g., a tab) that is configured to engage a corresponding latch of a downhole structure.
FRAC DART WITH A COUNTING SYSTEM
A frac dart includes a body having an outer surface and an end including at least one opening. A cutter support is mounted at the end adjacent the at least one opening. A cutter is moveably mounted at the cutter support. A counter support is slideably mounted on the outer surface, and a counter is arranged between the counter support and the cutter support. The cutter is operable to sever a portion of the counter.
Methods and Apparatus for providing a plug activated by cup and untethered object
A plug assembly includes an expandable assembly, a locking ring and a cup. The expandable assembly is adapted to be deformed radially over the locking ring and the cup. The locking ring has a stopping inner surface. The plug assembly is used with one or more untethered objects, the untethered objects having an outer surface adapted to couple with the cup, and the cup having an outer surface adapted to couple with the stopping inner surface of the locking ring. The combination of cup and untethered objects is also adapted to contact an inner surface of the plug assembly and, using well fluid pressure, to apply forces to the plug assembly. The forces cause the longitudinal movement of the cup and untethered objects while contacting the inner surface of the plug assembly until the cup contacts the stopping inner surface of the locking ring.
