FILTER SUB FOR DOWNHOLE APPLICATIONS

A filter assembly can include a filter element and a fluid inlet for fluid to flow through the filter element. The filter assembly can include bypass ports that are in a closed position from bypass port plugs until the filter screen becomes sufficiently clogged such that the fluid is restricted or prevented from flowing through the filter screen, which causes pressure to build up within the filter assembly. The increase in pressure can cause the bypass port plug to open the bypass ports such that fluid can flow through the bypass ports. The filter assembly can include a debris sleeve that partially or wholly surrounds the filter screen.

In situ expandable tubulars

Expandable tube members that are fabricated from a composite material that includes a structural plastic, which structural plastic includes phase change materials that undergo a permanent expansion upon exposure to wellbore conditions. This permanent expansion of the structural plastic causes the expandable tube member to expand radially and/or longitudinally without the use of an expansion tool. The expandable tube member can be used to control fluid loss, patch wells, stabilize a formation in a wellbore, enhance flow, provide sand screening, and repair damaged pipes, casings, or liners.

An elongated shroud includes a perforated exterior surface, having rows of holes extending into an interior of the elongated shroud; each row of the have holes of a same width; and the width of the holes associated with each row decrease in each row out from a center row of holes.

Screens

A screen assembly, such as a downhole/sand screen assembly, comprising first and second screen portions or screens longitudinally coupled together, wherein there is provided a fluid flow path between the first and second screen portions or screen. Optionally, the first and second sleeves are coupled or connected by a centralizer or further sleeve or screen, and/or optionally by or via first and second support ring.

COMMINGLING FLOW BETWEEN TRANSPORT TUBES OF A MULTI-TRANSPORT TUBE SHUNT SYSTEM

A technique facilitates gravel packing along a borehole. According to an embodiment, a shunt system is positioned along a sand screen system. The shunt system comprises a plurality of transport tubes and a plurality of packing tubes. A manifold is coupled to the plurality of transport tubes and to the plurality of packing tubes at a corresponding sand screen joint of the sand screen system. The manifold serves to separate a portion of the gravel slurry flowing through the plurality of transport tubes and to direct the portion into the corresponding packing tubes. Additionally, a commingler is positioned along the plurality of transport tubes at a location separate from the manifold. The commingler has an internal chamber where gravel slurry is received from uphole transport tube sections and is commingled before flowing into downhole transport tube sections.

Downhole screen assembly

A screen assembly, such as a downhole/sand screen assembly, comprising first and second screen portions or screens longitudinally coupled together, wherein there is provided a fluid flow path between the first and second screen portions or screen. Optionally, the first and second sleeves are coupled or connected by a centralizer or further sleeve or screen, and/or optionally by or via first and second support ring.

SAND CONTROL SCREEN ASSEMBLIES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS OF MANUFACTURING

A sand control screen assembly includes a base pipe having openings through its thickness, and a mesh layer having mesh material sections coupled to safe edges, or connectors, for connecting sections together. The safe edges include areas of thinning to provide flex joints that yield when exposed to high stresses. The mesh layer may be a drainage layer or a filter medium of the sand control screen assembly.

Filtration media for an open hole production system having an expandable outer surface

A subsurface system includes a tubular having an opening. A filtration media is mounted about the tubular over the opening. The filtration media includes a selectively expandable outer surface positioned over the opening. The selectively expandable outer surface includes one or more selectively expandable openings. The one or more selectively expandable openings transition from a first dimension to a second dimension upon expansion of the selectively expandable outer surface.

OIL WELL TOOL SYSTEM AND APPARATUS

An oil well tool operable to be deployed downhole on a production string including a tubular member having a wall extending from a first end to a second end opposite the first end and the wall forming a plurality of apertures. The oil well tool also includes a mesh screen coupled to an inner surface of the wall of the tubular member and covering the plurality of apertures.

LINER FOR A WELLBORE

A liner for a wellbore having a sidewall in which one or more nozzles are formed is described, wherein the one or more nozzles are plugged by temporary plugs. Also described is a method of completing an open hole well that penetrates a subterranean formation in which a liner having a sidewall in which one or more nozzles are formed, wherein the one or more nozzles are plugged by temporary plugs, is deployed in the well such that the nozzles communicate with the formation.
