Well injection and production method and system
A method and system for enhancing petroleum production are provided, in which petroleum is displaced from a fractured formation by selectively injecting fluid into selected fractures in the formation without injecting into the other non-selected fractures. The injected fluid flows out into the fractured formation and enhances recovery from the non-selected fractures. Petroleum is selectively collected from the non-selected fractures.
Torpedo plunger
A plunger having a generally hollow interior between an open upper end of the plunger and a closed bottom end of the plunger. One or more orifices extend through a sidewall of the plunger near the closed bottom surface. The orifices fluidly connect the hollow interior of the plunger with the tubing below the plunger when the plunger is in use. The orifices allow for a transfer of gas from the well bottom into the liquid load above the plunger during plunger ascent. The orifices also allow liquids to pass through the plunger during plunger descent.
NON-COMINGLED CONCENTRIC TUBING PRODUCTION FROM TWO DIFFERENT RESERVOIRS
An apparatus for obtaining fluids via a well is disclosed. The apparatus includes an outer tubing disposed in the well and set at a shallow reservoir comprising a first fluid, an inner tubing disposed concentrically within the outer tubing and set at a deeper reservoir further downhole than the shallow reservoir, the deeper reservoir comprising a second fluid, a first packer disposed between the outer tubing and an external tubing and disposed above the shallow reservoir, and a second packer disposed between the outer tubing and the inner tubing and disposed above the deeper reservoir, wherein the second packer blocks an annulus through which the first fluid is extracted via the outer tubing. The first fluid is obtained from the shallow reservoir and the second fluid is obtained from the deeper reservoir by drilling via the well.
KICKOVER TOOL
A kickover tool for retrieving a used gas lift valve installed within a gas lift mandrel connected along a wellbore tubular string and installing a new gas lift valve within the gas lift mandrel. The kickover tool may include a housing, a first holder configured to hold the used gas lift valve, a first displacement mechanism operable to move the first holder between a retracted first holder position in which the first holder is adjacent the housing and an extended first holder position in which the first holder is spaced away from the housing, a second holder configured to hold the new gas lift valve, and a second displacement mechanism operable to move the second holder between a retracted second holder position in which the second holder is adjacent the housing and an extended second holder position in which the second holder is spaced away from the housing.
DOWNHOLE CORE PLUG APPARATUSES AND RELATED METHODS
Embodiments include a core plug holding apparatus including a tubular member configured to be inserted into a side pocket of a mandrel, the tubular member having an uphole end, a downhole end, and a core plug section located between the uphole end and the downhole end, wherein the core plug section is used for housing of one or more core plug samples and wherein tubular member includes one or more orifices formed in the core plug section. Embodiments include a method of sampling a well including deploying one or more core plug holding apparatuses into one or more side pocket mandrels of a completion; holding the one or more core plug holding apparatuses in the one or more side pocket mandrels for an incubation period; and retrieving the one or more core plug holding apparatuses from the one or more side pocket mandrels after the passage of the incubation period.
Particle Trap Apparatus and Method
An apparatus and method for trapping particles disposed in a fluid. The apparatus may comprise one or more cavities disposed axially along a length of a tubular housing, one or more connecting components disposed at opposing ends of the housing, and may optionally comprise a check valve system. Alternate embodiments are provided for forming each of the one or more cavities, which may comprise a combination of a cavity frame and cavity surface. The method may comprise flowing a fluid into a first end of a particle trap apparatus at a rate of fluid flow, directing the fluid flow at least partially through one or more cavity sub-assemblies disposed in the particle trap apparatus, collecting the particulate matter in one or more of the cavity sub-assemblies when the rate of fluid flow may slow or become suspended, and clearing collected particles from the one or more cavity sub-assemblies upon restoration of fluid flow in a primary direction of travel.
Gas transport and pressurization system
A gas transport and pressurization system, including a static valve, a compartment concentrically arranged around the static valve, a dynamic valve axially displaceable relative to the static valve, and a crankshaft connected to the dynamic valve, wherein gas from a ground gas well flows through the compartment, the dynamic valve, and the static valve to a gas outlet.
Environmentally friendly, reliable, scalable, and efficient micro-turbine electric generator system
A power generation system includes one or more micro-turbine electric generators (“MTEGs”). The MTEGs include a housing having an inlet for receiving pressurized gas and an outlet for releasing expanded gas. The MTEGs also include a rotor, a user-replaceable nozzle for directing pressurized gas over blades of the rotor, and a stator for generating alternating current (“AC”) responsive to rotation of the rotor. The power generation system also includes a programmable logic controller (“PLC”) coupled to the MTEGs that operates flow control valves (“FCVs”) coupled to the MTEGs to modulate the flow of gas to the MTEGs to generate output power suitable to support an electrical load. The system also includes power conversion circuitry configured to convert AC generated by the MTEGs to direct current (“DC”) and to provide the DC to an electrical load. The system also includes a skid for mounting multiple and MTEGs and FCVs.
Processes and systems for injection of a liquid and gas mixture into a well
Processes and systems for injecting a liquid and gas mixture into a well are disclosed. The processes and systems include injecting a mixture of a liquid and a gas into a well in order to: increase production of a production fluid in the well, decrease the bottom hole pressure, decrease the density of the production fluid, or a combination thereof.
GAS-LIFT MANDREL PROVIDED WITH A SCALE INHIBITOR INJECTION SYSTEM
The invention discloses a chemical injection system adapted inside of the gas lift mandrel, such scale inhibitor injection system being intended to protect the chemical injection valve as well as the check valves and will also prevent scale deposition on the column above the gas lift mandrel due to dehydration caused by dry gas.
