Drug delivery devices with partial drug delivery member retraction

Methods, devices, and components are provided to reduce tissue resistive pressure during a subcutaneous drug delivery operation by increasing the size of the injection cavity by partially retracting the drug delivery member after inserting the drug delivery member to a subcutaneous position. The drug delivery devices described herein include a magnetic actuator operably coupled to a primary container assembly including a drug delivery member. Power can be selectively provided to the magnetic actuator by a controller to retract the drug delivery member a predetermined distance to relieve pressure in an injection cavity in a patient. A force sensor can provide the controller with a drug delivery member insertion force. The controller can then estimate a tissue resistive pressure based on the drug delivery member insertion force and determine the predetermined distance for the drug delivery member retraction based on the tissue resistive pressure.

The pressure control device has an inlet channel on a distal side of the pressure control device communicating along an irrigation flow path with an outlet channel on a proximal side of the pressure control device, and a secondary outlet located between the inlet channel and the outlet channel and in communication with the irrigation flow path. The restriction element is inserted into the secondary outlet.

The present invention discloses a pump for measuring a pressure of fluid to be transferred, a fluid transport system using the same, and a method for operating the system. The pump includes a pumping portion alternately generating a positive pressure and a negative pressure; a first diaphragm which is provided on one side of the pumping portion and of which a shape is changed as the positive pressure and the negative pressure are alternately generated; a transport chamber which sucks and discharges a transport target fluid corresponding to the deformation of the first diaphragm; a second diaphragm which is provided on the other side of the pumping portion; a monitoring chamber which is provided on one side of the second diaphragm and of which a pressure changes corresponding to the deformation of the second diaphragm; and a pressure measuring portion measuring a pressure change of the monitoring chamber.

The pulsatile generator is configured to apply a pulsatile force on the fluid medium delivered through the delivery catheter at a pulsation frequency. The pulsatile force is defined by a plurality of duty cycles during the injection cycle, each of the plurality of duty cycles including a first flow level and a second flow level that is lower than the first flow level. The pulsation frequency is 3 or more duty cycles per second.

A connector for coupling a container carrying a medical fluid to a vascular access device may include a housing comprising and inner surface defining an internal chamber comprising a fluid channel disposed in the internal chamber. The fluid channel may include a pair of oppositely positioned cutouts. The connector may further include a slider disposed and supported in the internal chamber and having an internal compartment and an aperture through inner walls of the internal compartment. The slider may be reciprocally movable between (i) a first position, where the aperture of the slider is axially aligned with the pair of cutouts to allow the medical fluid to flow through the outlet, and (ii) a second position where the aperture of the slider is not aligned with the pair of cutouts and the inner walls of the slider blocks fluid connection between the slider and the fluid channel.
