APPARATUS AND KITS FOR FLUID INFUSION
An infusion device includes a housing with an interior chamber sized and configured to hold at least a flange and plunger of a syringe, a trigger held by the housing, and a lever in communication with the trigger and including an upwardly extending cam with a cam path having an upper end. The cam is in communication with the flange of the syringe. In response to actuation of the trigger to dispense fluid from the syringe, the upper end of the cam travels upward above the syringe and longitudinally toward a dispensing end of the syringe to linearly translate the plunger of the syringe in a first direction to dispense fluid from the syringe. To refill fluid into the syringe, the upper end of the cam travels downward and longitudinally away from the dispensing end of the syringe to linearly translate the plunger in a second direction to intake fluid.
ACTUATING MECHANISM, METHOD OF OPERATION AND ASSEMBLY FOR FLUID DISPLACEMENT AND PRESSURIZING DEVICE
A fluid pressurizing and displacement device which is configured for both macro movement and micro movement of a plunger. In order to execute micro movement of the plunger, a user need only rotate the plunger; to execute macro movement of the plunger, a user need only push or pull the plunger. This simplicity in use is possible because a half-nut (or other suitable structure within the device) remains engaged with the plunger, except when the plunger is being pushed or pulled by its operator. All user motions are simple and intuitive.
Drug delivery system and a method for operating a drug delivery system
An inventive drug delivery system includes a reservoir that holds a drug to be administered. A drug applicator injects or infuses the drug, and a pump generates a flow of the drug from the reservoir to the drug applicator. A control system has a pressure sensor that measures pressure signals indicative of resistance against the flow of the drug and a processor is in communication with the pressure sensor. The control system detects with the pressure sensor a pressure signal indicative of the resistance against the flow of the drug while the drug is being administered and compares the measured pressure signal to a reference value. The control system also generates display data and provides it to an output device when the measured pressure signal exceeds the reference value. The display data includes a scheduled test reminder for a glucose level test that is communicated to an output device.

SYRINGE FOR DETECTING PRESSURE CHANGE
The invention provides a syringe for detecting pressure change. The syringe includes a barrel defining a reservoir for receiving a constituent, a piston movable within the reservoir and a plunger. The barrel further includes a proximal end and a distal end with an outlet, an engaging member with a pair of fingers formed on an outer periphery of the barrel and a rib extending from the outer periphery of the barrel and disposed proximally to the engaging member. The plunger includes a first plunger part, a second plunger part and a baseplate supporting the first and second plunger parts. The first plunger part is partially received by the reservoir and slidably engaged with the piston. The second plunger part further includes at least one stop ledge to which the fingers of the engaging member releasably latch, and the stop ledge formed on a periphery of the second plunger part, and a compartment for accommodating a first biasing member with first and second ends. The first and second ends of the first biasing member engage with the rib and the baseplate respectively.
System and method for monitoring injection site pressure
A system and method for monitoring the pressure of an injection site, utilizing a fluid operating in the laminar regime flowing through a calibrated tube, and measuring a pressure at one end of the calibrated tube with a pressure sensor, as well as a fluid velocity with a flow sensor, such as an elastic filament velocimeter, that comprises a nano-scale sensing element. Additional elements may be utilized, including the use of data acquisition units, processors, user interfaces, pumps, syringes, and control loops.
Apparatus and method for locating a nerve block site by establishing a reference plane and delivering anesthetic to the site
The present disclosure relates to a local anesthetic delivery device for delivering anesthetic to a nerve block site comprising a surgical mechanism for establishing a reference plane for identifying the nerve block site, wherein the surgical mechanism establishes the reference plane at the peritoneum and uses a known fixed distance to the nerve plane above to accurately locate the nerve block site and deliver anesthesia.
Multi-component injection system and methods for tissue repair
The present disclosure provides devices, kits and methods for preparing injections with cells and carrier components for delivery to a target area in the body. The disclosed devices, kits, and methods provide preparation and monitoring of injections.
PRESSURE TRANSDUCER FOR INJECTIONS
The present invention relates generally to methods and systems for ensuring the injection pressure of glue or filler (or other material) for functional and/or cosmetic procedures does not result in retrograde embolus of the injected substance causing functional complication. It does so by indicating the injection pressure, which can be compared vs. the patient's own diastolic blood pressure—by never allowing injection pressure to exceed the diastolic pressure, the occurrence of such embolus into an artery traveling retrograde should be minimized or completely negated. The mechanism of detection of diastolic blood pressure can either be remembered by the user and the injection pressure visually confirmed to remain below this diastolic blood pressure when injecting, or this system may be automated, to ensure that the diastolic blood pressure in a feed-forward mechanism regulates the injection flow pressure when the comparable pressure is neared or reached.
Ocular injector and methods for accessing suprachoroidal space of the eye
An ocular medical injector is provided for drug delivery. A method includes inserting a puncture member of the medical injector into the eye until the puncture member reaches the SCS. The puncture member defines a lumen therethrough. With the puncture member disposed within the SCS, a flexible cannula is advanced distally through the lumen of the puncture member, beyond the distal end portion of the puncture member and along the SCS towards a posterior region of the eye. The flexible cannula has an atraumatic distal tip and defines a lumen therethrough. With the distal tip of the flexible cannula disposed within the SCS beyond a distal end portion of the puncture member, a therapeutic substance is administered to the SCS.
