PLANT FOR THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF BITUMINOUS CONGLOMERATES
Plant for the production and distribution of bituminous conglomerates and operating method of the plant, wherein the plant is provided with a dryer having a first portion and of a second portion, which are connected to each other in series one after the other.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MAXIMIZING RAP CONTENT IN PAVING
An asphalt production apparatus (APA) (14) and process for utilizing a substantial fraction of RAP (Recycled Asphalt Product) (10) in producing a renewed amalgam (12) for paving. The APA (14) is formed about an inclined central axis (18) and includes core components (16), namely: a non-rotating ignition cylinder (24); a rotating mixing drum (26) having a hollow interior (16) with radially spaced combustion tubes (52) longitudinally extending therethrough; and a stationary capture trap (28) for receiving renewed amalgam (12) and redirecting some spent gases (54) back through the a mixing drum (26) in a second pass. The ignition cylinder (24) receives combustion fuel (32) delivered to an igniter (34) and directs flaming gas (36) through the combustion tubes (52) at a flow rate such that the flaming gas (36) becomes spent gases (54) within the tubes (52) short of the capture trap (26) and no flaming gas (36) contacts RAP (10) in the interior of the mixing drum (26).
Aggregate dryer with exhaust quenching system
An exhaust quenching system is provided for use in connection with an asphalt concrete production plant having a dryer for drying aggregate material, an exhaust gas outlet conduit for discharge of exhaust gases from the dryer, and a dust collection assembly that is adapted to receive exhaust gases and entrained dust from the dryer via the exhaust gas outlet conduit. The exhaust quenching system is adapted to effect evaporative cooling of the exhaust gases in the exhaust gas outlet conduit upstream of the dust collection assembly.
RECYCLED ASPHALT PRODUCTION APPARATUS
An apparatus for producing hot mix asphalt from 100% recycled pavement aggregates includes a rotatable inclined drum having a central axis and having a first and second end. A heat source spaced from one of the ends introduces hot gas into the drum via one of the first and second ends. An aggregate supply introduces aggregate into the drum through one of the first and second ends. A RAP collar spaced from the ends and positioned around the drum is used to introduce sand through openings beneath the collar into the drum as the drum is rotated. The RAP collar has an annular heat and smoke shield fastened around the drum for minimizing escape of hot gas from the drum openings beneath the RAP collar. The drum has replaceable buckets within the openings for receiving, holding and distributing sand into the drum as the drum rotates about its axis.
Device and method for producing coated products, for example bituminous coated products, with protection plates
The invention relates to a device for manufacturing coated materials, the device comprising: a furnace comprising an enclosure (2) that is designed to be caused to rotate, that has an inside wall (2A) and that is provided with a main inlet (3) designed to receive non-coated new granular materials (25) or recycled granular materials (25) or a mixture of both of these types of granular materials, and an outlet for the bituminous coated materials that are manufactured inside the enclosure (2); heater means defining a combustion zone (4) inside the enclosure (2) and generating a drying flow suitable for drying the granular materials (25); and protective means for protecting the inside wall (2A), which means are situated in the combustion zone (4); said device being characterized in that the protective means are formed by a plurality of plates (13) that extend at some distance away from or else against the inside well (2A), and that are mutually overlapping in part so as to protect the inside wall (2A) thermally. Methods and devices for bituminous coated materials.
Highly portable asphalt plant
A highly portable asphalt plant of substantial size and product manufacturing capacity carries the system components on the confines of two transportable vehicles. The two vehicles are arranged in a fashion whereby vehicle one is connected to vehicle two in an inline continuous fashion. Vehicle two contains an integrated inertial dust separator baghouse design and provides for the receiving of the rotary dryer drum mixer directly and without the use, of interconnecting ductwork.
Recycled asphalt process
A method of making hot mix asphalt using recycled asphalt in which tertiary air is mixed with products of combustion at an exit of a refractory-lined chamber to produce hot controlled temperature process air, the temperature of the tertiary air being increased while the temperature of the products of combustion is decreased to adjust a temperature of the hot controlled temperature process air. Particles of the recycled asphalt are heated by exposing the particles to the hot controlled temperature process air in the rotary counter-flow dryer and mixer and moisture is removed from the recycled asphalt with the hot controlled temperature process air.
CONTROL OF AN ASPHALT MIXING PLANT
An asphalt mixing plant (700) includes a first drying drum (11) for drying and heating a first aggregate to a first aggregate temperature. The first drying drum (11) includes a first burner (31) and a first controller (41) configured to control by a first control loop (51) the first aggregate temperature of the first aggregate. The asphalt mixing plant (700) further includes a second controller (42) configured to control by a second control loop (52) a first raw gas temperature of a first raw gas of the first drying drum (11). The first controller (41) and the second controller (42) are configured to operate independently from each other. Further aspects relate to a corresponding method and a corresponding computer program product.
Hot (or warm) mix asphalt plants capability of producing up to 100 percent RAP (or ARS) recycled asphalt mixes
A hot mix asphalt (HMA) or warm mix asphalt (WMA) plant features material transfer by shear action of segmented screws and directional flights standing on an inner drum. Indirect convective material heating is initiated by a heating source located inside of the inner drum. Material mixing, heating, melting, and uniform coating, all take place as a single simultaneous process. As the result of processing, regular HMA (or WMA) or up to 100% RAP (or ARS) recycled HMA (or WMA) can be produced. Many heat sources, such as a conventional oil burner and the surface combustion burner, may also be utilized in the plant. The plant may be combined with paving units for an integrated, mobile paving system.
