The present invention concerns a security barrier for providing protection in a public space or the like, said barrier comprising a mineral wool assembly comprising at least one mineral wool element having an outer liquid impermeable covering and wherein the at least one mineral wool element is adapted for being filled with a liquid. The invention further comprises a method of manufacturing such security barrier and a method of preparing the security barrier for providing protection in a public space.

An anchorless crash cushion apparatus having a plurality of interconnected water-filled crash cushion elements and a non-water filled forward-most cushion element includes vehicle capture structure resisting upward tilting of a frontally impacting vehicle and ramping of the frontally impacting vehicle and stabilizing structure resisting relative rotation between the crash cushion elements in both vertical and lateral planes during vehicle impact. External elongated deformable structural members extend along the sides of the crash cushion elements and bend outwardly away from the crash cushion elements during frontal vehicle impact.

A structural barrier and energy absorbing device comprises a plurality of structural elements. The structural element alone or in a plurality may serve as a traversal impediment or energy absorbing device, such as a pedestrian barrier, vehicular barrier, anti-tank obstacle, ballistic barrier, or the like. The structural element may be a tetrapod such that it comprises an element body having four extension portions that extend outwardly from the interior center to a distal end, such that the structural element maintains an identical orientation and a low center of gravity in each of four resting positions. The structural element may be a solid-state structural element comprised of a particular material or a portable and collapsible structural element wherein the element body comprises an outer skin defining an interior void space, such that during set-up or installation the interior void space may be filled with a filler substance onsite.

An end treatment array for crash attenuation includes a transition barrier module formed of side walls, end walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, wherein the module walls together define an enclosed interior space. The end treatment array further includes a containment impact sled having an axially extending frame. The frame has a width sufficient to contain the transition barrier module within the frame when in an assembled configuration, and has an axial length which is at least one-half the length of the transition barrier module. The frame defines an interior volume, the purpose of which is to contain a substantial portion of the transition barrier module in the assembled configuration, and to contain debris caused by destruction of the plastic barrier modules in a vehicular impact. The containment impact sled is attached to the transition barrier module.

Modular multipurpose, rapidly deployable, barriers that couple together into barrier walls and barrier blocks. The barrier walls are watertight, self-filling, and capable of being coupled horizontally without vertically lifting the barriers. The barriers are capable of being vertically and horizontally stacked in all directions while also allowing the stacked blocks to be offset and reinforced with poles, ropes and cables that thread through the stack vertically to support fencing and other materials. A water-ballasted protection barrier array and fencing and gate assemblies are disclosed. In one embodiment of the water-ballasted protection barrier array, first fence assemblies are placed in a superjacent relationship with barrier segments to form stacked first fence assembly-barrier segment combinations. The water-ballasted protection barrier array may be constructed by placing second fence assemblies in lateral interposed relationships with two stacked first fence assembly-barrier segment combinations. Alternatively, gate assemblies may be placed in lateral interposed relationships with two stacked first fence assembly-barrier segment combinations to buildout the water-ballasted protection barrier array. A system of connecting lugs and connectors having a common vertical axial alignment such that a connecting rod is inserted therethrough to securably join the components of the water-ballasted protection barrier array.

A road safety barrier has a plurality of panels flanking one another at respective vertical lateral edges thereof, made of a material deformable upon impact by a vehicle, and a plurality of vertical support elements supporting the panels.
