A side panel assembly configured for attachment to a snow plow is disclosed. The side panel assembly comprises a main frame configured to be removably mounted to the snow plow, a main panel connected to the main frame through a vertical hinge, and a bottom panel. The main panel is movable about the vertical hinge between an extended position and a retracted position. The bottom panel is connected to the main panel through a horizontal hinge on a bottom edge of the main panel.

V-SHAPED SNOWPLOW BLADE HAVING TRIP EDGES
20220074153 · 2022-03-10 · ·

A V-blade for a snowplow, a snowplow incorporating the V-blade and a method of use thereof. The blade includes left and right wings engaged with one another. A trip edge is provided on each wing and includes a lower section of moldboard, a cutting edge, and a snow shield. Each trip edge engages an upper section of the associated moldboard via a biasing assembly. The biasing assembly biases the trip edge into alignment with the moldboard's upper section and also biases the trip edge towards a central vertical axis. When the V-blade strikes an obstacle on the surface during snow removal, the trip edges individually pivot about a horizontal axis extending along a shaft of the associated biasing assembly. The trip edges subsequently translate linearly along the horizontal axis and away from the vertical axis.

A vehicle mounted articulating snow plow apparatus is provided for clearing snow from roads and driveways. The snow plow includes a blade assembly having a center blade and an extendable wing blade coupled to each end of the center blade. The blade assembly can be raised and lowered relative to the vehicle and ground surface and can be rotated about a vertical axis. Each extendable blade is independently pivotable relative to the center blade through an arc of greater than one-hundred eighty degrees (180°) about a vertical axis. The blade assembly is extendable and retractable between at least a stowed configuration, wherein the extendable blades extend laterally inboard alongside the center blade, and a linearly extended configuration, wherein the extendable blades are outboard of the center blade. The blade assembly includes an actuation mechanism to pivot the extendable blade relative to the center blade.

FLEXIBLE SNOWPLOW CUTTING EDGE

A snow plow cutting edge, including at least one elongate backing plate removably fastened to a lower edge of a snow plow moldboard or to a cutting edge trip mechanism. The elongate backing plate has a long axis and a plurality of biasing member engaging structures. Slide bars are engaged to the elongate backing plate. The slide bars are arranged proximate one another along the long axis of the elongate backing plate and are slidable generally perpendicular to the long axis. Biasing members are engaged between the biasing member engaging structures and the slide bars such that the slide bars are biased generally perpendicular to the long axis toward a surface to be cleared of snow. Replaceable cutting edge sections are removably attached to one of the plurality of slide bars and located adjacent at least one of the other replaceable cutting edge sections.

Snowplow with ground contour following cutting edge and impact absorption

A cutting edge system for a snowplow is described. The system includes a backing plate coupled to a moldboard of the snowplow and cutting edge segments mounted to a front of the backing plate. Each cutting edge segment includes a blade segment slidably mounted to the backing plate. Each blade segment has a lower portion, an upper portion having an uppermost edge, and two upwardly extending lobes that define an intermediate portion therebetween. The two lobes each have a slot having a central slot region to receive a fastener and an upper slot region extending between the central slot region and an opening in an upper edge of the lobe. Each cutting edge segment also includes a compression member retained between the uppermost edge of the intermediate portion and an engaging surface of the backing plate to absorb upward movement of the blade segment when the cutting edge engages the ground.

A snow plow-blower operates as a snow plow, snow blower/thrower or as a snow plow-blower combination. The snow plow-blower includes a plow head blade and at least one blower door. The cavity contains a snow moving means, single, dual, or multi staged, for moving snow, ice and other materials out through at least one discharge chute and/or at least one opening. The blower door is adapted to move to an open configuration to expose said cavity, and from the open configuration to a closed configuration to thereby prevent snow, ice and other material ingress into the snow blower unit. Preferably, at least one retractable and extendable wing is located on the plow head blade to advantageously provide varying closed and open extended position configurations or positions for the removal of snow, ice or other material and debris.
