Inhaler

A combination of an inhaler and a refill pack. The inhaler comprises a reservoir for an inhalable composition, a heating element and/or vibrating transducer to selectively volatilise at least some components of the composition and at least one inhaler capacitor arranged to supply electrical power to the heater and/or vibrating transducer when a user inhales from the inhaler. The refill pack comprises a refill reservoir of inhalable composition and a battery coupled to a refill capacitor, and is arranged to engage with the inhaler and to simultaneously refill the reservoir and recharge the inhaler capacitor from the refill capacitor. The invention also extends to the inhaler and refill pack separately and to a method of refilling and recharging the inhaler.

Nasal spray delivery guide

A nasal spray delivery guide including a pair of guide elements spaced apart from one another and configured to be at least partially inserted into respective nostrils of a patient, and a flexible connector element attached to and extending between the guide elements. Each guide element includes an aperture extending therethrough from a base end to a tip end of the guide element. A method for delivering a nasal spray into a patient's nose includes the steps of providing the nasal spray delivery guide, inserting the guide elements at least partially into respective nostrils of the patient, inserting at least a portion of a nasal spray delivery device into one of the guide elements, and activating the nasal spray delivery device to deliver a nasal spray to a lateral wall of the respective nasal cavity.

The invention relates to an internal seal system. The internal seal may be incorporated into a pre-filled, small-volume nebulizer assembly with a T-connector. The small-volume nebulizer may be pre-filled with at least one unit-dose of medicine and hermetically sealed until use by an input port seal and the internal seal. The internal seal may operate as a valve when the assembly is changed into a second configuration.

Multi-orifice spray head

A spray head having multiple openings arranged to provide at spray coverage throughout at least 90 degrees from the spray head central axis. The spray head may be used for applying tissue sealants.

A nasal delivery device for and a method of delivering substance to a nasal airway of a subject, the nasal delivery device comprising: a mouthpiece (519) through which the subject in use exhales to cause closure of the oropharyngeal velum of the subject; a nosepiece (517) for fitting to a nostril of a subject, the nosepiece including a nozzle (549) through which substance is in use delivered to the nasal airway; and a manually-actuatable substance supply unit (520) for delivering substance through the nozzle of the nosepiece.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ARRESTING DEBILITATING MIGRAINE EVENTS
20190275270 · 2019-09-12 ·

A system and method for treating acute migraine events utilizing multiple sensory/receptive channels (olfactory, audio, visual and other sensory receptors) to both treat and optimize delivery to the afflicted sites in the brain. One of the primary migraine treatment methods includes a composition delivered through the olfactory system. Absorption through the nasal membranes is rapid and avoids delays and dilution inherent in methods using the mouth and gastro-intestinal (GI) processing. Effective, but less preferred methods that avoid GI delays and dilution include delivery as eyedrops or as an intravenous infusion. The effective composition comprises a caffeinic substance to bind and antagonize adenosine receptors in the brain. This immediately blocks continued action of adenosine to dilate the afflicted vessels and inflict pain. The composition also incorporates cannabinolic substances which work simultaneously or in parallel using the body's natural endocannabinoid pathways to rebalance and control blood flow to minimize swelling and pain. Additional features may incorporate additional active components. One available feature may incorporate a recipient/patient control modulus where the patient adjusts treatment using a feedback device such as a stimulation button to increase or adjust delivery. Another additional feature comprises one or more essential oils. Although some essential oil compositions may themselves include one or more compounds that contribute to the desired cannabinolic effects, adding essential oils even those lacking an inherent cannabinolic effect can contribute to effective treatment. Fragrant inclusions in an essential oil additive may provide a calming stimulation to the olfactory system that supports reduced tension and relaxation and thereby removes a tension induced exacerbation of migraine progression.
