SURGICAL GAS DELIVERY DEVICE WITH INTERNAL GASEOUS SEALING MODULE AND FILTERED TUBE SET THEREFOR
A system for performing an endoscopic surgical procedure in a surgical cavity of a patient that includes a gas delivery device configured to deliver a flow of pressurized gas to a gas delivery lumen extending therefrom, a gaseous sealing module communicating with a distal end of the gas delivery lumen and configured to generate a gaseous seal within a gas sealed lumen extending therefrom, and an access port communicating with a distal end of the gas sealed lumen so as to provide sealed instrument access to the surgical cavity and maintain a stable pressure within the surgical cavity.
SMOKE COLLECTING TROCAR
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and method for reducing surgical smoke. An exemplary apparatus includes trocar comprising a tubular hollow body circumscribing a cavity extending through a longitudinal axis of the trocar with a gasket at a first end and an exit port at a second end, the tubular hollow body comprising a first wall circumscribing the cavity and a concentrically spaced apart second wall. The apparatus further includes a first plate operable to maintain an electric charged disposed within the cavity on the first wall, and a second plate operable to maintain an electric charge disposed between the first wall and the spaced apart second wall.
FILTER CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLIES
A filter cartridge for a surgical gas delivery system is disclosed which includes a housing having a front end and a rear end and defining a first interior flow path extending downstream from a first inlet at the rear end of the housing to a first outlet at the front end of the housing, and a second interior flow path extending upstream from a second inlet at the front end the housing to a second outlet at the rear end of the housing, a first pleated filter element operatively associated with the first interior flow path, a second pleated filter element operatively associated with the second interior flow path, and a carbon filter disc operatively associated with the second interior flow path and positioned adjacent a downstream side of the second pleated filter element.
PRESSURE RELIEF ARRANGEMENT FOR OPEN SURGERY INSUFFLATION SYSTEM
A surgical humidification system includes a source of gas flow and a humidifier that receives the gas flow and outputs a humidified gas to a delivery conduit. The delivery conduit has an outlet and a suitable interface, such as a diffuser, is connected to the outlet. The interface can be positioned near or within an open surgical cavity of a patient to supply the humidified gas to the cavity. The system also includes a pressure relief arrangement that operates to relieve pressure from the system above a normal operating pressure. The pressure relief arrangement can be located in a non-sterile portion of the system, such as upstream from the humidifier, for example.
INSERTION INSTRUMENT AND MEDICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM
An insertion instrument includes a shaft projecting, by being inserted through a hole of a fixing instrument, from a distal end of the fixing instrument toward a distal side, and a gas supply channel formed in the shaft section and having a jet port, which jets a gas, in a distal portion of the shaft section. The gas is supplied from a proximal side to the distal side toward the jet port in the gas supply channel, and an extension dimension along the longitudinal axis from the jet port toward the proximal side is greater than an extension dimension of the hole of the fixing instrument.
Surgical gas delivery system with remote gaseous sealing module for maintaining stable pressure in a surgical cavity
