The main body may include a mouthpiece, a medication reservoir, and a mouthpiece cover, where the mouthpiece cover may be hinged to the main body. The electronics module may include a communication circuit, a pressure sensor, and a switch. The slider may be configured to engage the switch when the mouthpiece cover moves from a closed position to an open position. The switch may be configured to switch the electronics module from an off state or a sleep state to an active state. The electronics module may be configured to never return to the off state after the mouthpiece cover is moved to expose the mouthpiece for the first time by the user.

Dual Chamber Nebulizer Apparatus
20190015607 · 2019-01-17 ·

A dual chamber nebulizer apparatus for atomizing and administering a first and second liquid medicine includes a housing having first and second chambers for holding the first and second liquid medicines. An atomizer member is situated in the housing and configured to atomize liquid into vapor. An air flow member is coupled to the housing and in fluid communication with the atomizer, the flow member having an inlet port for receiving a compressed air flow to the atomizer member. First and second aspiration tubes are in communication with the atomizer member and extend into first and second chambers, respectively. The atomizer member includes a junction in communication with the first and second aspiration tubes, the valve selectively allowing both of the liquid medicines to be drawn through respective aspiration tubes and directed to the atomizer member when the compressed airflow is directed to the atomizer member.

POWDER DISPERSION DEVICES AND METHODS

A unit dose dry powder inhaler includes a base defining a capsule seat that holds a capsule of medicament and an air intake that is in fluid communication with the capsule seat. The intake draws air into the capsule seat to generate rapid capsule precession and centrifugal forces that fluidize and disperse powder agglomerates. Entrained powder is drawn through a grid to disperse powder agglomerates via impaction forces. An inlet funnel between the grid and a dispersion chamber tapers to a small inlet orifice into the dispersion chamber to disperse powder agglomerates via shear forces generated at the orifice. The chamber entrains powder from the inlet funnel and holds an actuator that oscillates during inhalation to disperse powder agglomerates by dynamic impaction with the actuator and increased turbulence within the chamber. A tapered outlet funnel reduces particle velocity and turbulence and provides an exit for air and aerosolized medicament.

Dry powder inhaler with drug inlet mesh network

The present invention relates to a dry powder inhaler. The dry powder inhaler includes an inhaler housing, a drug container configured to be provided in the inhaler housing and accommodate the dry powder drug, a drug inlet configured to be disposed above the drug container and through which the dry powder drug is inhaled, and a mesh network configured to be installed on a path of the drug inlet and have a mesh part for collision with the dry powder drug formed therein.

Means and method for fluid pulses

A pulsating therapeutic inhaler generating pneumatic pulses for treating respiratory disorders. The inhaler includes: a linear passage that has an elongate axis and is configured to conduct a fluid flow in a laminar manner; a patient interface fluidly connectable to the patient's respiratory tract having an aperture fluidly connectable to the passage; and a shutter disposed between the passage and the aperture configured to modulate a fluid pressure within the fluid flow. The shutter includes a disc having at least one cutout and rotating about an axis parallel to the passage axis. The cutout has four cornered perimeter thereof with two side portions and two circumferential arcs configured relative to the rotation axis. The side portions are circumferentially anti-symmetrical relative to the aperture.

The present disclosure relates to a dispenser device for spraying pharmaceutical powder. In the case of using the dispenser device of the present disclosure, a catheter can be prevented from bending, and pharmaceutical powder can be used through a spraying method without fine spray of the powder.

Dry Powder Inhaler

The present invention relates to an inhaler device for delivering a dose of medicament in dry powder form from a container to a patient in need thereof. The inhaler comprises first and second airflow paths (80, 85) which are arranged such that during inhalation, a capsule (40) having a longitudinal axis and first and second end sections (90, 95) delimiting the capsule on opposing ends located in a capsule chamber (30) performs an oscillating movement in the capsule chamber parallel to its longitudinal axis between first and second sidewall portions (60, 65) of the capsule chamber.

Medical or dental device for dispensing a powdered medium

A medical or dental device for dispensing a powdered medium with a container having a container interior space. The container can be connected to a compressed gas source to convey the powdered medium together with the compressed gas out of the interior space, and to a dispensing unit, so that the powdered medium is conveyed with the compressed gas to the dispensing unit. The container comprises: a wall, and a bottom that is connected to the wall and has at least one bore through which compressed gas from the compressed gas source can be conducted into the interior space. A swirl plate made of a porous material is provided at the bottom. Compressed gas can be conducted through the porous swirl plate into the interior space to aerate at least a portion of the powdered medium without conveying the powdered medium out of the interior space to the dispensing unit.

VIBRATING BLISTER

Disclosed is an inhaler and a method for using the inhaler for the inhalation of a formulation from a carrier. The carrier contains the formulation in a receptacle and is set oscillating by an air current. An improved or defined delivery and nebulisation of the preferably powdered formulation is made possible by the fact that the carrier is set oscillating in defined manner, the formulation is dispensed through a cover element having three to five holes and/or the air current flows onto a fin associated with the carrier and flows past at least substantially only one flat side of the carrier.
