METHODS, DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR PULMONARY DELIVERY OF ACTIVE AGENTS
Provided herein is a method of pulmonary delivering to a subject at least one pharmacologically active agent being in a plant material, which is effected by pulmonary delivering the agent to the subject using a metered dose inhaler device that is configured to vaporize at least one pre-determined vaporized amount of the agent upon controllably heating the plant material, wherein the pre-determined vaporized amount is selected so as to achieve at least one pre-determined pharmacokinetic effect and/or at least one pre-determined pharmacodynamic effect induced by the agent in the subject.
COLLAPSIBLE, DISPOSABLE MEDICATION INHALATION SPACER AND METHOD
A medication inhalation apparatus preferably formed of a single, unitary sheet of stock, includes an outer housing, movable between collapsed and expanded states, encompassing a first volume. An inner housing within the outer housing encompasses an inner or second volume. An inhaler opening to the first volume is within a wall of the outer housing at a first location. A mouth opening to the inner volume is within a wall of the outer housing and the inner housing at a second location. A one-way inhalation valve connecting the first volume and the inner volume is within a wall of the inner housing. A one-way exhalation valve connecting the inner volume and the exterior of the outer housing is within a wall of the outer housing and inner housing at a third location. The valve preferably includes an elongated spring body formed of a semi-pliant material with a strength and rigidity providing limited flexibility. A first separation is perpendicular to the elongate axis of the spring body, and extends from a first edge of the spring body across at least a portion of a width of the spring body. A second separation perpendicular to the elongate axis of the spring body extends from a second edge of the spring body across at least a portion of the width of the spring body.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VAPORIZATION AND INHALATION OF ISOLATED SUBSTANCES
A dose unit including at least one isolated bioactive agent applied on a carrier material in thermal contact with an electrically heating element configured to vaporize a pre-determined amount of the agent for pulmonary delivery thereof is provided herein, as well as devices for effecting vaporization and pulmonary delivery of the isolated agent, and methods for preparing the dose unit, controllably releasing the agent therefrom, methods for pulmonary delivery thereof and methods of treatment of medical conditions treatable by pulmonary delivery of the isolated bioactive agent.
DEVICE FOR INHALATION-SYNCHRONIZED DISPENSING OF A FLUID PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING SAID DEVICE
A device having a body (10), a reservoir (100) axially slidable relative to the body (10), a metering valve (200), a blocking element (500), a triggering element (600), a triggering system controlled by inhalation (60), an actuating member (800) cooperating with the blocking element (500), a cover (11) with a central axial sleeve (110) with a lower axial edge (111), a push member (810) mounted in the cover around the central axial sleeve (110), and a spring (850) disposed around the central axial sleeve (110) between a bottom of the cover and the push member. The lower axial edge (111) of the central axial sleeve is deformed after assembly of the push member and the spring in order to produce a retention collar of the push member and form a pre-assembled subassembly that is fixed to the body.
Flow regulating inhaler device
An inhaler device for pulmonary delivery of at least one substance from a drug dose cartridge to an inhaling user, including: a first conduit for conducting a carrier airflow to a proximal opening of a mouthpiece for use by the user; a holder configured to position the dose cartridge within the carrier airflow; and a second conduit for conducting a shunting airflow to the mouthpiece without passing through the dose cartridge position. In some embodiments, a controller connected to a valve controls a rate of carrier airflow, for example by controlling the shunting airflow, based on a sensor indication of airflow rate and a target airflow profile.
Therapeutic device for treatment of conditions relating to the sinuses, nasal cavities, ear, nose and throat
A therapeutic device for treating one or more conditions associated with a user's nasal cavities, sinuses, and/or ear canals includes a housing having an opening, an acoustic vibrator within the housing that is operable to provide an acoustic vibration to the user, a fan within the housing that is operable to provide a pressure to the user and a power supply that provides power to the acoustic vibrator and the fan. A mask is connected to the housing at the opening and includes a nasal interface appliable around the nose of the user, a nasal chamber in which the user's nostrils are located and an aperture through which the fan delivers the pressure.
INTRANASAL ADMINISTRATION
A delivery device for and method of modulating a condition relating to social cognition and/or behaviour in a human subject using oxytocin, non-peptide agonists thereof and/or antagonists thereof, comprising: providing a nosepiece to a first nasal cavity of the subject; and providing a supply unit for administering less than 24 IU of oxytocin, non-peptide agonists thereof and/or antagonists thereof through the nosepiece to an upper region posterior of the nasal valve which is innervated by the trigeminal nerve.
HAND-HELD DEVICE FOR DISPENSING SPRAYABLE SUBSTANCES IN A PORTIONED MANNER
A hand-held device for metered dispensing of sprayable substances, in particular inhaler medicaments, includes a housing and a cartridge which can be displaced into a dispensing position by a pressure application relative to the housing, wherein the housing has a mouthpiece, wherein the cartridge can be displaced initially into a ready-to-dispense position and a dispensing spray process can be triggered by sucking in, wherein the displacement of the cartridge can be executed by tensioning a spring supported on the housing and acting on the cartridge. The spring is displaced into the position to perform a spraying process, but is hindered by a counterforce that can be deactivated by application of a negative pressure through the mouthpiece of the hand-held device A valve flap is moved by the negative pressure and cancels a mechanical block of the movement of the cartridge.
METHODS OF TREATMENT USING NICLOSAMIDE
