Medication delivery apparatus and system and methods for the use and assembly thereof

An aerosol medication delivery system includes a holding chamber having an output end with a plurality of tabs extending from an exterior. A patient interface includes a housing having an annular attachment collar configured with a plurality of openings receiving the plurality of tabs. The housing has a plurality of engagement members formed on an interior of the housing and an interior wall defining a sealing surface. A retaining ring is engaged by the engagement members and is coupled to an interior of the housing. A one-way inhalation valve includes a non-moveable annular valve seat engaged by the retaining ring and the sealing surface of the interior wall. A one-way exhalation valve is formed separately from the one-way inhalation valve, and is coupled to the patient interface.

Inhaler

An inhaler, preferably for insertion into a nostril, in particular a horse's nostril, with an inhalation valve, which has a movable valve element, whereby the valve element is designed in an annular manner and has an outer edge and an inner edge, whereby the valve element is fastened at the outer edge, the inner edge forms the boundary of an indentation of the valve element, and the inhalation valve has a valve body seat that corresponds to the inner edge.

SPACER DEVICE FOR AN INHALER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF

A spacer device for an inhaler. The device may include a hollow tube. The device may also include a piston member configured to be inserted into the hollow tube such that a space between a first end of the hollow tube and the piston member may define a chamber for holding a mist released from the inhaler. The piston may be slidable along the hollow tube towards the first end of the hollow tube as the mist is aspirated from the chamber. The hollow tube and the piston member may cooperate to provide a visual indication of the progress of the aspiration of the mist from the chamber.

A nebulizer has a body, a fluid reservoir, and a flutter valve. The body has a first end that has a mouthpiece, a second end, an aerosol delivery channel extending though the body from the first end to the second end, and a fluid reservoir receiving compartment in communication with the aerosol delivery channel. The fluid reservoir is positioned in the fluid reservoir receiving compartment. The fluid reservoir contains a volume of fluid and has a vibrating mesh disc for delivering the fluid to the aerosol delivery channel in an aerosol form upon the vibrating mesh disc being energized. The flutter valve is positioned in the aerosol delivery channel of the body near the second end of the body. The flutter valve is moveable between a closed position and an open position when the expiratory pressure greater than a predetermined expiratory pressure is exerted on the flutter valve.

Receptacle having a removable discharge nozzle and methods for reconfiguring a medication delivery apparatus and adminstering a medication

A ventilator circuit for use in administering medication to a patient includes a housing, a one-way inhalation valve and a one-way exhalation valve. A metered does inhaler receptacle is in fluid flow communication with an interior space of the housing holding chamber. An exhaust conduit communicates between input and output passageways disposed on opposite sides of the interior space.

Smart valved holding chamber

A medication delivery system having a holding chamber capable of delivering dosages of medicament from a metered dose inhaler. The holding chamber includes an actuator detector, flow detector and display. In another embodiment, a medication delivery system includes a holding chamber having an input and an output end, a metered dose inhaler operably coupled to the input end of the holding chamber, and a metered dose inhaler identifier associated with the holding chamber and operable to identify the metered dose inhaler coupled to the holding chamber.

INHALER

An inhaler with a respiration indicator, whereby the inhaler has a chamber wall forming a chamber and a dispensing device for fluidic connection of the chamber to a bodily opening, preferably a nostril, whereby the respiration indicator has a wall section of the chamber wall or is formed in this way, whereby the wall section is designed to indicate a respiratory activity by deformation and/or movement.
