SUBMARINE CABLE TRENCHER
A trencher includes a trencher body; a cable detection mechanism disposed at a front portion of the trencher body; a chain mechanism and a jet mechanism disposed in the center of a bottom portion of the trencher body; a first track mechanism and a second track mechanism, the first track mechanism being disposed on a first side of the bottom portion of the trencher body, and the second track mechanism being disposed on a second side of the bottom portion of the trencher body; and a soil discharging component disposed at a rear portion of the trencher body.
TRENCH CUTTING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A trench cutting apparatus and method, the apparatus comprising a central support element comprising at least one jetting outlet and a cutting element configured to be driven around the central support element. The trench cutting apparatus is configured to be operable in a mechanical cutting mode in which the cutting element is driven around the central support element to cut material forward of the trench cutting apparatus, and a jet cutting mode in which a pump is activated to eject fluid from the at least one jetting outlet to fluidize or cut material forward of the trench cutting apparatus.
UNDERWATER TRENCHER HAVING SUBMARINE CABLE BURYING APPARATUS
The underwater trencher includes an underwater moving body, and a trench digger provided in the underwater moving body by a support plate and a cutter support provided on an upper surface of the underwater moving body; a cable guide member configured to guide the submarine cable to a trench excavated by the trench digger is coupled to the cutter support; and an upwardly opened guide portion of the cable guide member is provided with a depressor configured to press downwards the submarine cable drawn into and guided by the cable guide member or to release a pressing force so as to relax a tensioned state of the submarine cable when tension is generated in the submarine cable.
System and method for laying an underwater pipeline on a bed of a body of water
A system for laying an underwater pipeline on a bed of a body of water has a construction site to form a string of an underwater pipeline, the string being defined by a curved portion shaped substantially like a portion of the bed of the body of water characterized by an abrupt change in slope; at least two vessels to transfer, in the body of water, the string from the construction site to a laying site in the body of water and substantially on the vertical of a path along which to lay the string; and a plurality of floating devices configured to be coupled to the string and so as to selectively support and sink the string in the body of water, and progressively lay the string along the path on the bed of the body of water.
Trenching assembly for laying in a trench a continuous pipeline and trenching method
A trenching assembly lays a continuous pipeline in a trench dug in a bed with uneven bathymetry, the trenching assembly including a trench digging device having a main body; at least four ground contact units, each unit having a height adjustment device, to position each ground contact unit with respect to the main body independently. A trench cutting tool digs in the bed includes a cutting depth adjustment device, for positioning the cutting tool with respect to the main body. A detection device detects bed bathymetry. A control device simultaneously allows cooperation between the detection device, the height adjustment device of each ground contact unit, and the cutting depth adjustment device. A command device cooperates with the control device to adjustment each ground contact unit and the cutting depth adjustment device, to obtain a trench having a height difference lower than a predefined tolerance and a predetermined burial depth.
Pipe trenching
Pipe burial apparatus are disclosed that include sets of rotary nozzle cutters configured to straddle a pipe that is to be buried and a nozzle array connected to a nozzle supply pipe in a manner that places the nozzle supply pipe in a cutting path of a rotary nozzle cutter. The nozzle supply pipe may be actuated to alternatingly move the nozzle array between a position straddling the pipe being buried and a cutting position that is below the pipe being buried.
Device and method for burying a conduit in the bed of a body of water
A device configured to bury a conduit in the bed of a body of water has a digging module configured to dig a trench in the bed of the body of water; a manipulating module configured to feed conduit sections into the trench; and a push module configured to join the conduit sections inside the trench and move the device in a travelling direction.
DEVICE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF VACUUM CONSOLIDATION DEWATERING HORIZONTAL DRAINS FOR DEWATERING SLUDGE PONDS
A device for installing horizontal drains in a coal combustion residual or other sludge pond consists of a trenching device that extends downwardly to the depth of required installation of the drains and an attachment through which the drains are fed during installation. The trenching device and attachment are mounted onto a carrier for floatation of the required equipment on the surface of a water-filled sludge pond. The carrier can be winched, hauled or driven across the surface of the sludge. A hydraulic system may be used to raise and lower the trenching device and attachment. The trenching device may be equipped with a chain driven blade mechanism or dredging device for the purpose of cutting a trench into the pond sludge, and a vibratory trenching device may be used to effectively liquefy the material to make the trenching device easier to pull or tow through the sludge in the pond.
Apparatus and method for inserting an elongate object into a trench
A wheel cutter tractor for inserting a cable into a trench is disclosed. The tractor comprises a wheel cutter for cutting a trench, and tracks for moving the tractor relative to the trench. A cable support tray supports the cable in a first position displaced from the wheel cutter in a direction transverse to a direction of travel of the tractor, and in a second position above the wheel cutter. A cable grab and lifting device transfers the cable into the cable support tray.
