A method of treating disorders in a human or animal subject may include heating a material containing a compound to a first temperature to form a heated volume of the material. The method may additionally include heating the heated volume to a higher second temperature to form a dose of vapor including the compound. The method may also include administering the dose of vapor to the subject to treat disorders such as pain. The method may further include pre-heating the material to a preliminary temperature prior to the heating to the first temperature. The heating and pre-heating may be performed with a capsule including two covering layers, each including an electrically conductive material, configured to hold the material therebetween and to generate heat by resistive heating.

INHALER WITH APERATURED POROUS SUPPORT ELEMENT

An inhaler article includes a body extending from a mouthpiece end to a distal end with an endpiece element at the distal end. A capsule cavity is defined within the body and extends a cavity length. An air inlet region is between the endpiece element and the capsule cavity. The air inlet region has an air inlet and an air passageway extending from the air inlet to the capsule cavity. The air passageway has an inner diameter less than an inner diameter of the capsule cavity. A porous support element defines a downstream end of the capsule cavity. The porous support element includes one or more apertures extending the length of the porous support element.

Mouthpiece For A Product Dispensing Device

The invention relates to a nozzle for a device for dispensing product in powder form, having a dispensing duct, with a dispensing opening configured to open freely into an airway of a user, a grid arranged transversally across the dispensing duct, a solid wall arranged in the dispensing duct around the grid forming a dispensing restriction, the dispensing restriction having a flow section smaller than a minimum flow section of the dispensing duct. The invention also relates to a device for dispensing product in powder form by inhalation comprising such nozzle.

Electronic nicotine delivery system

A system to generate a vapor from a liquid includes an electric heater and an elongate wick. The electric heater defines an interior void having an inner surface and a plurality of apertures, and it is formed of an electrically resistive material contained within a heat diffusing material. The elongate wick is formed of a durable elongate structure having a plurality of liquid-conducting features on the outer surface. At least a portion of the liquid-conducting features of the elongate wick proximate the first end engage at least a portion of the one inner surface of the electric heater and are capable of conducting a the liquid from a source proximate the second end of the wick along the outer surface of the elongate wick to the electric heater.

Apparatus and methods are described for use with a vaporizer that vaporizes at least one active ingredient of a material. In response to receiving a first input to the vaporizer, the material is heated, in a first heating step. An indication of the temperature of the material is detected, and, in response to detecting an indication that the temperature of the material is at a first temperature, the first heating step is terminated, by withholding causing further temperature increase of the material. The first temperature is less than 95 percent of the vaporization temperature of the active ingredient. Subsequently, a second input is received at the vaporizer. In response thereto, the material is heated to the vaporization temperature, in a second heating step. Other applications are also described.

NASAL AEROSOL DELIVERY SYSTEM

A nasal delivery device can include a nasal prong and an activation member. The nasal prong can have an opening at a top and bottom portion of the prong to allow for the passage of an aerosolized treatment agent through the nasal prong. The activation member can be positioned on the nasal delivery device at a location that is spaced apart from the subject's oral cavity when the nasal prong is received into the nostril of the subject. The activation member can detect a desired exhalation state of the subject and upon detection of the desired exhalation state, the activation member activates the delivery of the aerosolized treatment agent.
