Stabilizing features in a wear member assembly
A wear member includes a front end and a rearward end, the rearward end having a cavity formed therein. The cavity may include a forward portion, a rear portion, and an intermediate portion. The forward portion may be disposed toward the front end and the rear portion may be disposed toward the rearward end. Each of the rear portion and the forward portion may include at least four surfaces. Each of the four surfaces of the rear portion may converge toward a longitudinal axis of the wear member at a first converging angle, and each of the four surfaces of the forward portion may converge toward the longitudinal axis of the wear member at a second converging angle. The intermediate portion may extend between the forward portion and the rear portion and may include a different number of surfaces in cross-section than the forward portion and the rear portion.
Excavating Tooth Assembly for Earth-Digging Equipment
A tooth assembly having an adapter, a tooth, and a pin. The adapter and the tooth each have a first portion and a second portion. The first portion of the adapter is adapted to be combined with an earth-digging implement. The second portion of the adapter is adapted to be combined with the tooth. The second portion of the adapter has an opening adapted to receive an engagement member extending from the second portion of the tooth. The first portion of the tooth is adapted to engage the material being displaced by the implement and the second portion is adapted to be combined with the adapter. The second portion of the tooth has an opening adapted to receive an engagement member extending from the second portion of the adapter. The pin is inserted through openings in both the adapter and the tooth to secure the two components together during operation.
Attachment pin assembly
An attachment pin assembly includes a first pin body, a second pin body, and a bolt for fastening and fixing the first pin body and the second pin body to each other. A tip end of the first pin body is formed in a planar shape across a substantially entire area excluding a first bolt hole extending in an axial direction. A tip end of the second pin body is formed in a planar shape across a substantially entire area excluding a second bolt hole extending in the axial direction. The first pin body and the second pin body are fastened and fixed with the bolt in a state in which the planar tip ends contact each other.
Stabilizing features in a wear member assembly
A wear member may include a front end and a rear end and a longitudinal axis extending therethrough. The rear end may have a cavity formed therein with a rear portion and a forward portion. The cavity may have two horizontal surfaces in cross-section and converging toward the longitudinal axis. The cavity may have four substantially planar surfaces that are oblique in cross-section. A first two of the four substantially planar surfaces may be disposed on a first lateral side of the two horizontal surfaces, and a second two of the four substantially planar surfaces may disposed on a second lateral side of the two horizontal surfaces. An intermediate portion may be disposed between the rear portion and the forward portion, with the intermediate portion comprising a different number of surfaces in cross-section than a number of surfaces of the rear portion and the forward portion in cross-section.
SHROUD RETENTION SYSTEM FOR A WORK TOOL
A shroud retention system for a work tool is disclosed. The shroud retention system may have an adapter attached to the work tool. The shroud retention system may also have a shroud that slidably engages with the adapter. The shroud may have a retainer slot. Further, the shroud retention system may have a spring assembly disposed in the shroud. The spring assembly may have a block that slidably moves relative to the adapter. The spring assembly may also have a resilient member disposed between the adapter and the block. In addition, the spring assembly may have a retainer disposed in the retainer slot. The retainer may engage with the block. The retainer may have at least one recess disposed on the retainer front face or on the retainer rear face. The recess may extend partway toward the other of the retainer front face or the retainer rear face.
Adapter board bolted joint surface
A blade assembly comprises a moldboard defining an upper moldboard free end and a lower moldboard free end, the lower moldboard free end defining a lower curved mounting surface, and an adapter board defining an upper adapter board attachment portion, and a lower tool bit attachment portion. The upper adapter board attachment portion may include a first peak surface and a second peak surface, the first peak surface and the second peak surface forming a first valley therebetween and being configured to contact the lower curved mounting surface.
Drafted tool bit and blade assembly
A tool bit comprises a shank portion defining a longitudinal axis, and a working portion extending downwardly axially from the shank portion. The working portion includes a rear region, a front working region, a first side region and a second side region, and the first side region and the second side region define an angle of extension measured in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, forming a wider front working region than the rear region in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
WORK IMPLEMENT ASSEMBLY USING ADAPTERS, ADAPTER COVERS, AND A NOTCHED BASE EDGE
An adapter cover includes a front face portion that defines a thru-hole configured to allow a nose portion of an adapter to pass horizontally through the thru-hole past the interior surface and then past the exterior surface, and a top single leg extends horizontally from the front face portion. The thru-hole defines a perimeter with a right side edge, a left side edge, a top edge, an upper right corner and an upper left corner, and further defines a bottom open end.
Shroud retention system for a work tool
A shroud retention system for a work tool is disclosed. The shroud retention system may have an adapter attached to the work tool, and a shroud having a channel that slides over the adapter. The channel may have a retainer slot. The shroud retention system may further have a spring assembly disposed in the channel and connectable to the adapter. The spring assembly may have a slide compressor that can slide within the channel relative to the adapter. The slide compressor may have a compressor mating feature. The spring assembly may further have a resilient member disposed between the adapter and the slide compressor. The shroud retention system may have a retainer plate disposed in the retainer slot. The retainer plate may have a retainer mating feature that mates with the compressor mating feature such that the retainer plate and the slide compressor are engaged in a locked position.
Sectional grader system for a mold board
