TIP AND ADAPTER ASSEMBLY USING A SPRING STEEL SLEEVE DESIGN
A tip and adapter assembly includes a spring loaded retainer that includes a lug receiving portion defining a first maximum outside dimension, the lug receiving portion also defining a lug receiving slot that extends partially through the lug receiving portion, forming a first sidewall, a second sidewall, and a catch surface connecting the first sidewall to the second sidewall. A drive portion defines a second maximum outside dimension, and a first flat is disposed on the outside of the lug receiving portion proximate to the first sidewall or the second sidewall.
Ground Engaging Tool Assembly with Adapter for Attaching Tip to Machine Implement
A ground engaging tool assembly includes a ground engaging tip, an adapter, and a wear cap. The ground engaging tip has a ground engaging portion and a coupling portion including an interior surface defining a coupler pocket with an adapter opening and first and second lug openings. The adapter includes a mounting nose with first and second retention lugs extending from sides of the mounting nose along oblique taper angles. The mounting nose is disposed within the coupler pocket of the ground engaging tip with the first and second retention lugs extending into the first and second lug openings, respectively. The base includes a shoulder surface and a retention surface that define a mounting groove therebetween. The wear cap includes a mounting rail that is disposed within the mounting groove of the adapter to mount the wear cap thereto.
Stabilizing features in a wear member assembly
A wear member assembly may include a nose attachable to a bucket lip. The nose may include a rear portion having a first set of substantially planar surfaces including a first, second, and third subset of surfaces. The third subset of surfaces may be angled and positioned between the first subset of surfaces and the second subset of surfaces. The nose may also include a forward portion positioned forwardly adjacent to the rear portion, the forward portion having a second set of substantially planar surfaces including a fourth, fifth, and sixth subset of surfaces. The sixth set of surfaces may be angled and positioned between the first subset of surfaces and the second subset of surfaces. The wear member assembly may also include a wear member having a cavity comprising rear and forward bearing surfaces corresponding to the third and sixth subset of surfaces.
POSITION-BIASED LOCKING PIN ASSEMBLY FOR A GROUND ENGAGING WEAR MEMBER
A locking pin assembly for securing a wear member to a support structure may include a body portion and may include a shaft member partially disposed within and extending from the body portion and rotatable between a first position that mechanically inhibits removal of a ground engaging member from a support structure and a second position that permits removal of the ground engaging member from the support structure. A wear member for receiving a locking pin assembly may include a bore extending laterally through the bore member with a proximal opening and a distal opening, an installation ramp and a removal ramp may be disposed at the proximal opening for engaging a tang of a shaft member of the locking pin assembly.

LOCK ASSEMBLY FOR A TIP AND ADAPTER
A lock includes a drive portion and a pin receiving portion. The drive portion includes a polygonal aperture, and the pin receiving portion includes a hole with an internal surface of revolution that defines an axis of rotation, a radial direction, a circumferential direction, and a slot extending at least partially through the pin receiving portion into the hole.
WEAR COMPONENT STABILIZATION FOR MATERIAL HANDLING IMPLEMENT
A wear component assembly for use with a material handling implement can include an adapter configured for attachment to a lip of the material handling implement, the adapter having a forward-projecting nose, and a wear component including a pocket configured to receive the nose therein, the pocket having a deepest internal surface, and the surface being longitudinally spaced apart from a forward end of the nose. Another wear component assembly can include an adapter and a wear component, and in which contact between an inclined surface formed on the nose and an inclined surface formed in the pocket prevents contact between a deepest pocket surface and a forward end of the nose.
