WORK IMPLEMENT ASSEMBLY USING ADAPTERS, ADAPTER COVERS, AND A NOTCHED BASE EDGE
An adapter cover includes a front face portion that defines a thru-hole configured to allow a nose portion of an adapter to pass horizontally through the thru-hole past the interior surface and then past the exterior surface, and a top single leg extends horizontally from the front face portion. The thru-hole defines a perimeter with a right side edge, a left side edge, a top edge, an upper right corner and an upper left corner, and further defines a bottom open end.
WORK IMPLEMENT ASSEMBLY USING ADAPTERS, ADAPTER COVERS, AND A NOTCHED BASE EDGE
Each of the plurality of center notches and the first and the second end notches of a base edge includes a different configuration including a different end notch depth along the direction of assembly that is greater than a center notch depth along the direction of assembly.
Retention system for attaching tool bits to a blade assembly
A tool bit includes a shank portion defining a longitudinal axis, a free end, and a perimeter, at least one anti-rotation feature on the perimeter extending to the free end, and a cross-hole defining a cross-hole axis along which the cross-hole extends through the shank portion. The tool bit also including a working portion extending downwardly axially from the shank portion. The working portion includes a rear region, a front working region defining a width with a midpoint, a first side region and a second side region. The first side region and the second side region define an angle of extension measured in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cross-hole axis pass through the width of the front working region when projected onto a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
SYSTEM FOR FIXING WEAR ELEMENTS ON EARTH-MOVING MACHINES
The system for fixing wear elements in earth-moving machines, which comprises a stem (1) that rotates between a locking position and a release position, said stem (1) defining an inner end and an outer end, said stem (1) comprising locking elements (2, 3), wherein said stem (1) comprises a first deformable locking element (2) placed at the inner end of said stem (1) and a second locking element (3) arranged shifted towards the outer end of said stem (1).
It allows providing a system for fixing wear elements in earth-moving machines that is easy to manipulate and that improves/secures the contacts between the tooth and the tooth-holder.
ADAPTER RETENTION PLUG
An adapter retention plug includes an elongated body defining a right extremity, and a left extremity disposed along a longitudinal axis. The elongated body also includes a right vertical undercut forming void, a left vertical undercut forming void, and a tab extending along the longitudinal axis defining the right extremity.
GEOMETRIC PROFILE FOR IMPROVED MANUFACTURABILITY OF A GROUND ENGAGING TOOL
A wear member includes a first leg, a second leg, and a throat portion connecting the first leg to the second leg. The first leg defines a first leg thickness, and the throat portion defines a throat portion thickness disposed adjacent to the first leg thickness. A ratio of the throat portion thickness to the first leg thickness ranges from 1.1 to 1.2.
Implement ground engaging tip assembly having tip with tapered retention channel
A ground engaging tip of a ground engaging tip assembly includes an adapter that attaches to the base edge and having a forwardly extending adapter nose, and a ground engaging tip. The tip has a rear edge and a top and bottom outer surfaces. The top and bottom outer surfaces extend forward from the rear edge of the ground engaging tip and converge at a front edge of the tip. The tip includes first and second side outer surfaces extending forward from the rear edge to the front edge. Tip includes a nose cavity for receiving the adapter nose therein. The nose cavity has first and second side inner surfaces opposite the first and second side outer surfaces, respectively. The nose cavity has an aperture and a retention channel on at least one of the first and second side inner surfaces. The retention channel extends from the rear edge to the aperture and guides a lug of the adapter into the aperture during installation of the ground engaging tip on the adapter. The retention channel has an untapered portion and a tapered portion, with the tapered portion extending from the rear edge to the untapered portion and the untapered portion extending from the tapered portion to the aperture.
RETAINER SLEEVE DESIGN WITH ANTI-ROTATION FEATURES
A retainer sleeve includes an at least partially annular body defining an axis of rotation, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction. The body may also have a radially inner annular surface defining a radially inner aperture, and a first anti-rotation feature extending radially inwardly from the radially inner annular surface including a sloping ledge having a locking surface that faces at least partially in the circumferential direction and along a direction that is parallel to the axis of rotation, forming an oblique angle with the direction that is parallel to the axis of rotation.
Electronically operated locking system for earth moving equipment and method
An adaptor includes a body defining a longitudinal axis, and a transverse axis that is normal to the longitudinal axis. The body also has a leading portion defining a lock receiving recess extending transversely at least partially through the leading portion, and a wire receiving conduit that is in communication with the lock receiving recess. The lock receiving recess defines a width and a depth with a ratio of the depth to width is greater than 1.0.
SYSTEM FOR SECURING BITS AGAINST ROTATION
A system for use in securing bits against rotation in a motor grader may include a bit, with the bit having a shank. The shank may include a locking portion. The system may include an adapter board including a hole configured to receive the shank of the bit. The system may also include an anti-rotation plate configured to engage the locking portion of the shank of the bit such that the anti-rotation plate constrains the bit against rotation with respect to the adapter board.
