STABILIZING FEATURES IN A WEAR MEMBER ASSEMBLY
A wear member assembly may include a nose attachable to a bucket lip. The nose may include a rear portion having a first set of substantially planar surfaces including a first, second, and third subset of surfaces. The third subset of surfaces may be angled and positioned between the first subset of surfaces and the second subset of surfaces. The nose may also include a forward portion positioned forwardly adjacent to the rear portion, the forward portion having a second set of substantially planar surfaces including a fourth, fifth, and sixth subset of surfaces. The sixth set of surfaces may be angled and positioned between the first subset of surfaces and the second subset of surfaces. The wear member assembly may also include a wear member having a cavity comprising rear and forward bearing surfaces corresponding to the third and sixth subset of surfaces.
CONNECTOR SYSTEMS IN EARTH ENGAGING WEAR MEMBER ASSEMBLIES
A fastener includes an elongated shaft having a head at the end, the head comprising a lock fin extending radially outward from the shaft. The head includes an engagement cavity. The fastener further includes a cap having an engagement protrusion for insertion into the engagement cavity of the cap such that rotation of the cap causes corresponding rotation of the head, the cap further comprising a contact portion having a plurality of radially outward facing planar surfaces. The fastener further includes a rotation resisting element having inward facing planar surfaces that fit with the radially outward facing planar surfaces of the contact portion, the rotation resisting element further including an interference feature extending radially outward, the rotation resisting element being resilient so as to allow but resist rotation of the cap with respect to the rotation resisting element.
RETAINER SLEEVE FOR GROUND ENGAGING TOOLS
A retainer sleeve configured for use in a retainer system for a ground engaging tool includes a plurality of plate-like sections, each section being flexibly joined with an adjacent section along either a radially inner edge or a portion of a radially outer edge. The radially inner edges of the plurality of sections form part of a segmented inner surface configured for engagement with an outer surface of a locking member of the retainer system. The inner surface extends partially around a central axis of the retainer sleeve to form a substantially C-shaped retainer sleeve having opposite circumferential ends that are spaced from each other. The radially outer edges of the plurality of sections form part of a segmented, frustoconical outer surface configured for engagement in an internal lock cavity of a ground engaging tool tip.
Lock for securing a wear member for earth working equipment
An articulated lock for securing a wear member to earth-working equipment includes a plurality of bodies interconnected for pivotal movement between an extended orientation with the bodies aligned and a retracted orientation with the bodies folded. The lock in the extended orientation can engage an opening of the wear member at an inner hold position to secure the wear member to the earth-working equipment or an outer release position. In the folded orientation the lock disengages from the opening of the wear member. Each body has a slot and a tab and, in the extended orientation, the tab of each body is received in the slot of the other body to limit separation of the bodies.
WELDLESS BOSS FOR ATTACHING LIPS TO A WORK IMPLEMENT
A lug member includes a slide platform defining a slide groove that further defines a sliding direction, a first end that is disposed along the sliding direction, and a second end that is disposed along the sliding direction. A spacer engaging projection extends downwardly from the slide platform.
Position-biased locking pin assembly for a ground engaging wear member
A locking pin assembly for securing a wear member to a support structure may include a body portion and may include a shaft member partially disposed within and extending from the body portion and rotatable between a first position that mechanically inhibits removal of a ground engaging member from a support structure and a second position that permits removal of the ground engaging member from the support structure. A wear member for receiving a locking pin assembly may include a bore extending laterally through the bore member with a proximal opening and a distal opening, an installation ramp and a removal ramp may be disposed at the proximal opening for engaging a tang of a shaft member of the locking pin assembly.
Retention system having double-ended expandable pin
A retention system is provided for use in connecting a replaceable tool to a work implement. The retention system may have a generally cylindrical pin with a first hollow end, and a second hollow end located opposite the first hollow end. The retention system may also have a first fastener configured to engage the first hollow end and cause the first hollow end to flare radially outward. The retention system may further have a second fastener configured to engage the second hollow end and cause the second hollow end to flare radially outward.
EXCAVATOR TOOTH RETENTION APPARATUS
With a view to providing such an apparatus, the invention comprises a tooth adapter defining top and bottom walls and side walls, an adapter recess in one side, a retention means in the adapter recess, a bolt with a fastening inserted in the recess, a collar formed on the bolt of predetermined diameter, a tooth having side walls and defining a hollow chamber fitting over said adapter, a through tooth bolt opening formed in a tooth side wall of predetermined diameter, said tooth bolt opening being located to register with said adapter recess, when the tooth is positioned on the adapter.
In one version the diameter of the collar is slightly greater than the diameter of the tooth bolt opening, to create a locking effect.
ELECTRONICALLY OPERATED LOCKING SYSTEM FOR EARTH MOVING EQUIPMENT AND METHOD
An adaptor includes a body defining a longitudinal axis, and a transverse axis that is normal to the longitudinal axis. The body also has a leading portion defining a lock receiving recess extending transversely at least partially through the leading portion, and a wire receiving conduit that is in communication with the lock receiving recess. The lock receiving recess defines a width and a depth with a ratio of the depth to width is greater than 1.0.
Retainer sleeve design with external ribs
A retainer sleeve includes an at least partially annular body defining an axis of rotation, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction. The body may also have a radially inner annular surface defining a radially inner aperture, and a first anti-rotation feature extending radially inwardly from the radially inner annular surface including a sloping ledge having a locking surface, and an outer peripheral surface defining a notch that is at least partially aligned with the first anti-rotation feature or an array of a plurality of external ribs extending outwardly radially from the outer peripheral surface.
