The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to an apparatus for releasably sealing a pipe. Particularly, the apparatus comprises a bar that includes an interior, an exterior, a first end that includes external threads, and a second end that includes a stop. The device further comprises a sleeve positioned over a portion of the bar, and a coupling comprising internal threads that couple to the bar external threads. The device includes a compressible gasket sandwiched between first and second adaptors. Advancement of the coupling over the bar external threads increases pressure on the sleeve, which compresses the gasket between the first and second adaptors.

A removable strainer basket, a drain assembly incorporating the basket and a method of using the same. The drain assembly includes a flange assembly mounted in an aperture in a bottom wall of the receptacle. The flange assembly defines a bore therein and a stopper is engaged with the flange assembly and is selectively movable between open and closed positions. A strainer basket is removably positionable within the bore between a part of the stopper and a part of the flange assembly. The strainer basket defines a plurality of apertures therein and through which water is able to flow when the stopper is in the open position. The strainer basket captures hair strands and other articles entrained in the draining water. The basket is selectively removable from the flange assembly for cleaning.

A drain stopper includes a cap, a seal and a strainer engaged with the cap, and a gripping element engaged with the strainer. The gripping element is resilient and has a generally tubular shape with longitudinal notches, which give it a segmented annular shape. A person grips and squeezes the gripping element to insert the stopper/strainer into a drain pipe, after which the gripping element expands and grips an inside wall of the drain pipe. The person pushes downwardly on the cap to place the stopper/strainer in a closed position and pulls up on the cap for an open position. Another drain stopper includes a cap, a seal, a push-push mechanism, a strainer engaged with the mechanism, and a flange or prongs that rest on a drain flange for holding and supporting the drain stopper.

Sink strainer assembly

A sink strainer assembly for attachment to a clamping ring of a sink waste valve assembly comprising a strainer sized to fit within and be attachable to the clamping ring by a locking bar attachable to the clamping ring and at least one or more screws affixing the strainer to the locking bar, the improvement to which comprises (a) the strainer comprising a cylindrical body having top and bottom surfaces provided with passageways extending from the top surface and extending through the bottom surface to permit fluids to pass through the strainer, a channel cut in the bottom surface and having a post cavity of greater depth than the channel, a screw passageway extending from the bottom of the post cavity through the top surface of the strainer body; (b) the locking bar comprising an elongated slat member having a width greater than the depth of the channel and a length sized to fit in the channel, the slat having a post member sized to fit into the post cavity, the post member having an axial passageway formed by a threaded interior wall and positioned on the slat member to be aligned to the screw passageway when the locking bar is positioned in the channel, the slat having its opposing end sections forming a shoulder extendable beneath the clamping ring lower rim when the strainer is positioned in the clamping ring; and (c) a screw sized and shaped to fit into the screw passageway and be operatively engaged with the threaded interior wall of the post member.

Pop up stopper and seal
11927001 · 2024-03-12 · ·

A pop up stopper comprising multiple aperture and at least one non-aperture lever rod engagement locations to allow use of the stopper as a replacement with different pre-existing actuating and drain systems when the existing stopper is broken, worn or needs to be replaced for aesthetic reasons. An existing lever rod is selectively positionable to engage with one of the lever rod engagement locations that are disposed at varying heights on the stopper. Most preferably, there are six lever rod engagement locations, four aperture locations and two non-aperture locations. A seal disposed below a cap and around a body of the stopper comprises an enlarged annular ring near its outer edge to provide increased surface area for sealing a drain opening. The body of the stopper has a maximum width measured in cross section of 1.04 inches or less.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING DECK MOUNTED FAUCETS
20240060280 · 2024-02-22 ·

A method for installing deck mounted plumbing fixtures. At least one annular opening is created in a horizontal planar deck. A backing plate is attached to the deck bottom surface that covers the annular opening in the deck. An installation plug is placed through the opening in the deck so that it rests on the backing plate. The installation plug includes an annular disc and a cylindrical post. A planar member is applied over the deck top surface, the planar member including at least a layer of liquid material, wherein the liquid material covers the top surface of the annular disc, surrounds a lower portion of the cylindrical post, and fills the annular cavity. The liquid material is allowed to harden, and the backing plate and the installation plug are removed, thus creating an opening in the planar member having the diameter of the cylindrical post and extending through the planar member and also creating a recessed annual region below the planar member adjacent to the bottom surface of the deck. A plumbing fixture is then installed in the opening in the planar member, such that the plumbing fixture is affixed to the top and bottom surface of the planar member and not to the deck.
