20230263969 · 2023-08-24 ·

A collapsible spacer for use with a metered-dose-inhaler (MDI) medicament cartridge the spacer being movable between an expanded configuration for operation of the spacer and a collapsed configuration for transport or storage of the spacer. The spacer includes: an internal chamber for receiving a medicament dose when the spacer is in the expanded configuration and a cartridge dock for, in use, engaging with an MDI cartridge and permitting delivery of a medicament dose from the MDI cartridge to the internal chamber. The spacer further includes a mouthpiece permitting inhalation of a medicament dose from the internal chamber and a storage volume configured to accommodate the cartridge dock and an MDI cartridge. The cartridge dock is retractable into the storage volume in a retraction direction to store the MDI cartridge within the storage volume whilst maintaining engagement between the MDI cartridge and the cartridge dock. The cartridge dock is configured to receive and engage with the MDI cartridge in a cartridge orientation that is not aligned with the retraction direction.

INHALATION CHAMBER

The present invention relates to an inhalation chamber including a body having an inlet orifice suitable for being connected to the outlet end piece of a metered dose inhaler and an outlet orifice suitable for being connected to a mouthpiece or a mask to apply on the face of a patient, and a support suitable for receiving the outlet end piece of the metered dose inhaler, the support opening into the inlet orifice, characterised in that the axis (X) of the inlet orifice is non-colinear with the axis (Y) of the outlet orifice and in that the support is pivotally mounted on the body around the axis (X) of the inlet orifice.

An herb vaporizing apparatus includes an herb receiving port, a grinder to grind the herb, and a heating chamber for heating the ground herb to create a vapor. A first end of the heating chamber is positioned closer to a top of the apparatus than a second end of the heating chamber, such that the ground herb generally moves in at least a partially downward direction as it travels through the heating chamber. The apparatus further includes a screw feeder positioned within the heating chamber that rotates and moves the ground herb within the heating chamber. The apparatus further includes an air pump for pumping vapor out of the heating chamber and a valve positioned along an airway between the heating chamber and a vapor output. The valve permits air and the vapor to move from the heating chamber to the vapor output only while the air pump is activated.

Methods and devices for delivering a dose, such as a medicament, for inhalation. A dose may be stored by a delivery device and dispersed and delivered in a metered fashion to a subject, such as by the subject inhaling via a mouthpiece of the delivery device. One or more chambers of the device may have a toroidal shape and may be arranged to be selectively opened for fluid communication with a flow path of the delivery device, such as by sliding the chamber relative to a portion of the flow path. The flow path may include a restriction that permits air to bypass the chamber, and/or the chamber may be arranged so that fluid entering the chamber interacts with fluid exiting the chamber so as to enhance dispersion of the dose.

An improved spacer connects at one end to metered-dose inhalers with a connector configured to accept the mouth of the inhaler. Additionally, the spacer has a mouthpiece at its opposite end and a collapsible body made of a nonrigid material that maintains it shape with a resilient frame. The mouthpiece and body compress and nest within a cavity of the connector when the spacer is not in use. The spacer can further include a cover, a case, a vent to improve airflow, and/or a valve to cover the spacer to a valved holding chamber.

NEBULIZER

A nebulizer for nebulizing a fluid is proposed. The nebulizer includes an indicator device with a rotatable indicator element for counting or indicating a number of actuations performed or still possible with the nebulizer and a rotatable shaft which rotatably drives the indicator element. The indicator device is non-detachably attached to the shaft and/or to an inner part of the nebulizer. The nebulizer may further include a positioning device that keeps the shaft in a defined rotational position and/or blocks the shaft from rotating backwards.

Systems, methods and apparatuses for vaporizing all or substantially all plant matter, liquid and/or other material to be vaporized are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention comprise a vaporization chamber sealed except for at least two conduits, heating element, a first conduit coupled to a source of fully or almost fully non-oxygenated gas, a heating element capable of heating the vaporization chamber to a temperature above a combustion temperature, a second conduit configured to transport vaporization gases and vaporized elements out of the vaporization chamber and at least one valve positioned in the second conduit preventing the flow of atmospheric air into the vaporization chamber. In some instances, the first gas substantially clears the vaporization chamber of atmospheric air prior to reaching combustion temperature. A second gas containing oxygen may be intermixed with the vaporization gases and vaporized elements proximal to the combustion chamber.
