11065397 · 2021-07-20 · ·

An inhalation device including a housing, which encloses a liquid reservoir in which the liquid is stored before discharge, and an applicator head with a nebulization chamber and an applicator piece connected thereto, wherein the applicator piece is designed either as a mouthpiece, to be received in the mouth of a patient, or as an inhalation mask, to sealingly cover the mouth, the nose, or the mouth and the nose. The inhalation device furthermore has a discharge channel which connects the liquid reservoir to the applicator head. The inhalation device includes at the end of the discharge channel a nozzle plate with a large number of nozzle openings which serve to generate an inhalation mist and through which the liquid from the liquid reservoir is conveyed into the nebulization chamber.

AN INHALER

An inhaler comprising an elongate housing containing a reservoir of inhalable composition. An outlet for the composition and suction port are provided at one end of the housing. A diaphragm is mounted in the housing defining a suction chamber such that suction on the suction port reduces the size of the suction chamber. An elongate leaf spring is mounted at one end to the housing at the end of the suction chamber opposite to the suction port, and is pivotally mounted at an intermediate portion about a pivot point. A valve element is at the end of the leaf spring opposite to the one end and is biased closed. Suction on the suction port deflects the diaphragm and hence the leaf spring between the one end and the pivot point causing the opposite end of the leaf spring to pivot about the pivot point thereby causing the valve element to open.

INHALER SYSTEM

Provided is a system for determining a probability of a respiratory disease exacerbation in a subject. The system comprises an inhaler arrangement for delivering a medicament to the subject. The medicament may be a rescue medicament and/or a maintenance medicament. The inhaler arrangement has a use-detection system configured to determine an inhalation performed by the subject using the inhaler arrangement. A sensor system is configured to measure a parameter relating to airflow during the inhalation. A user interface enables user-input of an indication of a status of the respiratory disease being experienced by the subject. A processor is configured to determine the probability of the respiratory disease exacerbation based on the recorded inhalation(s) from the use-detection system, the parameter(s) received from the sensor system, and the indication received from the user interface. Further provided is a method for determining the probability of a respiratory disease exacerbation in a subject.

NEBULIZER APPARATUS AND METHOD

An apparatus and method for providing a nebula or aerosol to a patient is described. In one aspect, the nebulizer is composed of a minimum number of parts to reduce complexity for automated or human assembly. The nebulizer may include an inhalation valve, exhalation valve and biasing member integrated into a single diaphragm structure that may be connected with an actuator and inserted into a housing for controlling nebulization of a medicine to a patient in response to the patient's breathing or in a continuous nebulization mode.

INHALER

An inhaler, preferably for insertion into a nostril, in particular a horse's nostril, with an inhalation valve, which has a movable valve element, whereby the valve element is designed in an annular manner and has an outer edge and an inner edge, whereby the valve element is fastened at the outer edge, the inner edge forms the boundary of an indentation of the valve element, and the inhalation valve has a valve body seat that corresponds to the inner edge.

INHALER

An inhaler with a respiration indicator, whereby the inhaler has a chamber wall forming a chamber and a dispensing device for fluidic connection of the chamber to a bodily opening, preferably a nostril, whereby the respiration indicator has a wall section of the chamber wall or is formed in this way, whereby the wall section is designed to indicate a respiratory activity by deformation and/or movement.

Inhalation device for powdered drugs

The invention refers to an inhalation device for powdered drugs to be received by a patient by an inhalation-caused air stream, comprising at least one powder reservoir, metering means for repeatedly metering a powder dose from the reservoir, a transportation mechanism for moving said metering means from a filling position for receiving a powder dose into an emptying position for releasing said powder dose into a powder channel, at least one activating device for manual operation by the patient being operatively connected to said transportation mechanism such that upon operation a single powder dose is being metered, said activating device comprising a dosage key (5) acting on said transportation mechanism when actuated by the patient. According to the invention, said transportation mechanism furthermore comprises a dosage lever (6) acting on said metering means, said dosage lever (6) being locked in the inhalation position of said metering means after said dosage key (5) has been properly pressed down by the patient. The dosage lever (6) in the inhalation position engages a trigger member and is releasable by actuation of the trigger member. The trigger member comprises at least one cam surface and the dosage lever (6) engages the cam surface tangentially in said locked inhalation position.

An inhaler comprising an inner housing (1) with a pressurised reservoir of an inhalable composition. A breath operated valve (5) is operable by a user inhaling on an inhaling end of the inhaler. A composition flow path extends from the breath operated valve (5) to the inhaling end via which the composition is dispensed when the breath operated valve is opened. The breath operated valve (5) is biased closed by a biasing member contacting the breath operated valve at one end. A bung (16) in the inner housing is positioned in an opening in the inner housing to support the end of the biasing member (8) opposite to the breath operated valve. A rigid outer housing (3) surrounds the inner housing and supports the bung (16).
