Drug delivery device with electronics
A device for delivering medication to a user may include a main body, an electronics module, and a slider. The main body may include a mouthpiece, a medication reservoir, and a mouthpiece cover, where the mouthpiece cover may be hinged to the main body. The electronics module may include a communication circuit, a pressure sensor, and a switch. The slider may be configured to engage the switch when the mouthpiece cover moves from a closed position to an open position. The switch may be configured to switch the electronics module from an off state or a sleep state to an active state. The electronics module may be configured to never return to the off state after the mouthpiece cover is moved to expose the mouthpiece for the first time by the user.
Device to deliver a predetermined amount of a substance to a natural orifice of the body
The present invention provides a device for delivering a predetermined amount of at least one substance to a body orifice of a subject; comprising: a. a container for containing said at least one substance; b. a delivery end for placement in proximity to said orifice, said delivery end being in fluid communication with said container; c. a valve mechanically connectable to said container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which said valve enables delivery of predetermined amount of said substance from said container to said body orifice via said delivery end; and, (ii) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which said valve prevents delivery of said predetermined amount of said substance from said container to said body orifice; d. a trigger mechanism adapted to reconfigure said valve from said INACTIVE CONFIGURATION to said ACTIVE CONFIGURATION, and vice versa; e. a fluid tight chamber.
Drug delivery device with electronics
A system may include a mobile application residing on an external device and an inhalation device. The inhalation device may include a mouthpiece, a mouthpiece cover, medicament, and an electronics module comprising a processor. The inhalation device may be configured to both prepare a dose of medicament for delivery to a user and cause the processor to transition between power states when the mouthpiece cover is moved from a closed position to an open position to expose the mouthpiece. The electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to generate usage events based on usage of the inhalation device by the user. The electronics module may also include a pressure sensor, and the electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to determine whether a usage event is a good inhalation event, a fair inhalation event, or a no inhalation event based on feedback from the pressure sensor.
Reset mechanism for an inhaler
A valved-container inhaler (150) has a mechanical return assembly with a spring (214) and a transfer (212) configured to transfer stored potential energy from the spring to a canister (51) and a clutch (208, 210) in a load path of the force between the spring and the transfer, the clutch being rotatable between a first condition in which load is transferred from the spring to the transfer, and a second condition in which the spring and the transfer can move relative to one another to interrupt the load path and thereby allow the canister to resile after actuation.

The electronics module may be configured to never return to the off state after the mouthpiece cover is moved to expose the mouthpiece for the first time by the user.
HAND-HELD DEVICE FOR DISPENSING SPRAYABLE SUBSTANCES IN A PORTIONED MANNER
A hand-held device for metered dispensing of sprayable substances, in particular inhaler medicaments, includes a housing and a cartridge which can be displaced into a dispensing position by a pressure application relative to the housing, wherein the housing has a mouthpiece, wherein the cartridge can be displaced initially into a ready-to-dispense position and a dispensing spray process can be triggered by sucking in, wherein the displacement of the cartridge can be executed by tensioning a spring supported on the housing and acting on the cartridge. The spring is displaced into the position to perform a spraying process, but is hindered by a counterforce that can be deactivated by application of a negative pressure through the mouthpiece of the hand-held device A valve flap is moved by the negative pressure and cancels a mechanical block of the movement of the cartridge.
Atomizer and electronic cigarette using the same
An electronic cigarette includes a container for storing a tobacco flavored liquid, an atomizer connected to the container to atomize the tobacco flavored liquid by an electric heating, a battery tube to power the atomizer, and an actuating film movably positioned in the battery tube to control the atomizer.
Medicinal inhaler refill assemblies comprising a lockout mechanism
A refill assembly (129) for use in a medicinal inhaler (100). The refill assembly includes a patient port (110), and an adapter (118) configured to cause a dose of medicament to be released. The adapter is movable between a first position in which a dose of medicament is not released and a second position in which a dose of medicament is released. The refill assembly further includes a lockout member (117) movable between (i) a first (locked) position in which the adapter is not movable from its first position to its second position, and (ii) a second (unlocked) position in which the adapter is movable from its first position to its second position.
METHODS, DEVICES, KITS AND SYSTEMS FOR DELIVERY OF LARGE VOLUME OF PRESSURIZED GAS BY INHALATION
There are provided herein methods, devices, kits and systems utilizing respiratory mask for delivering pressurized fluid to a subject via inhalation in an efficient manner. The fluid may include gas and/or drug and by utilizing the methods, devices, kits and systems provided, efficient drug delivery to the subject's airways is achieved. The systems, devices, kits and methods further allow inducing insufflation/exsufflation in particular in subjects having impaired suffering from low neuromotor capacity, such as spinal cord injuries (SCI) patients.
Nasal delivery devices
A nasal delivery device for and a method of delivering substance to a nasal airway of a subject, the nasal delivery device including a mouthpiece (519) through which the subject in use exhales to cause closure of the oropharyngeal velum of the subject; a nosepiece (517) for fitting to a nostril of a subject, the nosepiece including a nozzle (549) through which the substance is in use delivered to the nasal airway; and a manually-actuatable substance supply unit (520) for delivering substance through the nozzle of the nosepiece.
