Reinforced joint for beam-column connection

The reinforced joint for a beam-column connection is provided for improving the resistance of steel-framed buildings against progressive collapse. Flange stiffening plates reinforce flanges of structural beams, with beam web stiffeners being attached to and extending between the flange stiffening plates. Additional column web stiffeners are attached to and extend between flanges of a structural column. A longitudinal cover stiffening plate is attached to the column stiffeners and the flange stiffening plates, extending across the joint and at least partially covering the beam web stiffeners. The reinforced joint between the structural beams and the structural column develops catenary action in the structural beams in the event of collapse.

The locking assembly (100) comprises: a first component (110) adapted for engagement to the building system, the first component (110) including a first locking portion (112) defining a first surface profile; a second component (120) including a second locking portion (122) defining a second surface profile corresponding to the first surface profile of the first locking portion (112), the second locking portion (122) being adapted for engagement with the first locking portion (112); and a third component (130) having a first end and a second end, the first end being adapted for engagement with the second locking portion (122) of the second component (120), wherein the third component (130) is resiliently deformable from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration under application of force to the third component (130), wherein in the locked configuration, the second locking portion (122) is engaged to the first locking portion (112) so as to secure the first component (110) to the second component (120), and in the unlocked configuration, the second locking portion (122) is disengaged from the first locking portion (112).

Modular integrated building and construction method thereof

Disclosed herewith a modular integrated building and a construction method thereof. The building comprises multiple prefabricated room units (1). A bottom of a load-bearing structure of the prefabricated room unit (1) is provided with a semi-prefabricated connecting port (2). Reinforcing bars arranged at a top of the prefabricated room unit (1) of a next floor are inserted in the connecting port (2) and thus connected with reinforcing bars arranged therein, so that the prefabricated room units (1) of two adjacent floors are connected with each other through in-situ casting concrete in the connecting port (2). A cast-in-situ concrete interlayer (3) is arranged on a top plate (11) of the prefabricated room unit (1) of a next floor, for connecting adjacent prefabricated room units (1) of a same floor together.

A construction formed of column and a beam, where the beam has top and bottom flanges coupled to the column by a lateral bracing system, and a web between the top and bottom flanges. The lateral bracing system may include a column-mounted plate including a horizontal portion and a vertical portion, the vertical portion affixed to the column. The beam may be coped at top and bottom edges of the web to prevent binding of the beam flange with the column-mounted plate upon rotation of the beam relative to the column.

MODULAR INTEGRATED BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREOF

Disclosed herewith a modular integrated building and a construction method thereof. The building comprises multiple prefabricated room units (1). A bottom of a load-bearing structure of the prefabricated room unit (1) is provided with a semi-prefabricated connecting port (2). Reinforcing bars arranged at a top of the prefabricated room unit (1) of a next floor are inserted in the connecting port (2) and thus connected with reinforcing bars arranged therein, so that the prefabricated room units (1) of two adjacent floors are connected with each other through in-situ casting concrete in the connecting port (2). A cast-in-situ concrete interlayer (3) is arranged on a top plate (11) of the prefabricated room unit (1) of a next floor, for connecting adjacent prefabricated room units (1) of a same floor together.

RETROFIT DESIGNS FOR STEEL BEAM-TO-COLUMN CONNECTIONS

A method of retrofitting a pre-Northridge type steel beam-to-column connection, includes welding the web of the beam to a flange of the column and slotting the beam web in the region of the connection and near the beam flanges. Stress relief holes are made into the web of the beam and slots are cut into the web of the beam. A top backup bar is welded to the flange of the column and a bottom backup bar is removed from the flange weld to the column. The method includes back gouging the flange of the column at a position of the removed backup bar and welding a bottom flange of the beam to the flange of the column.

A positioning device and method for producing a construction material body. The positioning device holds and orients a reinforcement body consisting of a textile reinforcement within a formwork. The positioning device comprises first and second holding part groups arranged on a main body. At least one of the two holding part groups is movable between holding and release positions. In the holding position, each holding part acts on an associated location of engagement on the reinforcement body. In the release position, the distance between the holding parts is different from the distance between the locations of engagement on the reinforcement body, such that the positioning device is brought into engagement with the reinforcement body or can be removed therefrom. In the release position, independent handling of the positioning device relative to the reinforcement body is possible. To switch between the holding and release positions, an actuation device is provided.
