On-job-site method of and system for providing class-A fire-protection to wood-framed buildings during construction
A method of and system for on-job-site spray coating of clean fire inhibiting liquid chemical (CFIC) liquid all over the exposed interior surfaces of raw and treated lumber, sheathing and wood used in a completed section of a wood-framed assemblies in a wood-framed building during its construction phase. The system includes a liquid spray pumping subsystem having a reservoir tank for holding a supply of the CFIC liquid; and a hand-held liquid spray nozzle for spraying the CFIC liquid from the reservoir tank, over the exposed interior wood surfaces of lumber and sheathing used in a completed section of a wood-framed assembly in a wood-framed building during construction phase. The CFIC-coated wood surfaces suppress fire ignition and suppression by interfering with free radicals (H+, OH, O) produced during the combustion phase of a fire.
Friction fit composite column
A composite assembly includes a series of elongated layers joined lengthwise thereof. At least two of the elongated layers each have an upper elongated portion and a lower elongated portion secured together in an end-to-end relationship at a joint therebetween by a connector arrangement. The upper elongated portion is constructed of a wood material, and the lower elongated portion is constructed of a non-wood material. The lower elongated portion may have a reinforcing rod therein.

Methods of designing and constructing Class-A fire-protected multi-story wood-framed buildings
A method of and system for designing and constructing high-density multi-story wood-framed buildings, and Class-A fire-protected building components, and methods and factories for producing the same in an economical manner. An on-job-site method is provided for treating wood-framed buildings so that such wood-framed buildings demonstrate Class-A fire-protection and improved defense against total fire destruction.
Method For Measuring Mass Distribution
A method for measuring the mass distribution along the width of a strip, in particular a dough strip, moved in the longitudinal direction of the strip and having a specified target width. At least two weighing cells are arranged at a distance to each other with respect to the width of the strip. The weight of at least one dough strand or dough piece having a width defined by the distances of the weighing cells is sensed. The mass of the partial pieces of the strip is determined on the basis of the distance of the weighing cells to each other, the position of the weighing cells along the width of the strip, the strip speed, and the measured values of the weight of the partial pieces sensed by the weighing cells, in particular over a defined time period.
Washer with shear tube
A fastener system is provided that attaches a connector or other upper member to a lower structural member such as a post or beam. The improved fastener consists of a fastener having an extending shank that is driven into a lower structural member and the fastener is received by a washer that also has an extending tube, and the extending tube of the washer is received by the connector or upper member and is also, preferably received in the structural member.
Self-adjusting heel joint connector and method of securing a heel joint
A self-adjusting heel joint connector for securing roof structural members, without the need for a conventional birdsmouth cut or toe-nailing. The connector is slideably insertable between a bottom surface of a preset rafter and the top of a supporting wall plate at a heel joint and is capable of self-adjusting to the precise preset rafter pitch. The connector includes a framing member securable to the top of the supporting wall plate, and a support member rotatably coupled to the framing member and freely rotatable about an axis of rotation perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the framing member. The framing member is securable to the angled rafter and an adjacent joist/tie member, as well as to the supporting wall plate, at the heel joint, and the rafter is supported by a substantially flat mating surface of the support member which extends in a direction perpendicular to a vertical leg of the framing member. The connector provides restraint from lateral movement and wind uplift, and provides for full vertical rafter load transfer partly through the framing member vertical leg of the connector and partly through the adjacent joist/tie member directly to the top of the supporting wall plate over a uniform distributed area, while transferring thrust force in the rafter to the adjacent joist/tie member. The support member further provides additional support for dead and live loads, while eliminating the need for a conventional birdsmouth cut at the heel joint.
TRUSS MEMBER CONNECTOR, REINFORCED TRUSS, AND TRUSS REINFORCING METHOD
The present disclosure provides in various embodiments a truss member connector including a first attachment section, a second attachment section, a connection section connecting the first attachment section to the second attachment section, and one or more guide pins. The present disclosure provides in various embodiments a reinforced truss and a method for reinforcing a truss member of a truss with the additional reinforcing member which includes attaching an additional reinforcing member to the truss member with a plurality of truss member connectors to enable rotation of the additional reinforcing member relative to the truss member such that the additional reinforcing member adds support and rigidity to the truss member and the entire truss.
Deck mounting system
A mounting system for mounting an external structure, such as a deck, with a building includes an anchor frame that couples with structural elements of the building and a bracket that couples with both the external structure and the anchor frame for securement. The anchor frame includes a plate element configured for mounting against a board of a building and anchor elements extending from the plate element and configured for mounting against a second board of a building. The bracket has a first face portion configured for coupling with the anchor frame and a second face portion spaced from the first face portion and configured for mounting with an external structure.
ROTATABLE STUD FRAMING GUIDE
A rotatable stud framing guide for aligning a first stud with a second stud includes a base, a rotatable arm, and a lockable retaining pin. The base includes a pair of angle flanges for securing the base to adjacent surfaces along the length of the first stud. The rotatable arm includes compression flanges for securing the rotatable arm to opposing surfaces at the end of the second stud. The lockable retaining pin includes a clevis pin, an eccentric cam lever, and a cotter pin that secures the eccentric cam lever to the clevis pin. The lockable retaining pin passes through pivot holes in the base and rotatable arm to provide an axis of rotation for the rotatable arm and maintain the rotatable arm in proximity to the base. The eccentric cam lever selectively locks the rotatable arm at a desired angle to align the second stud with the first stud.
