BEARING WALL OF WOODEN HOUSE
A bearing wall partitions into a plurality of openings and in a vertical direction between adjacent column members by bridging a beam member that serves as a window sill between intermediate portions of the adjacent column members in a framework. Both end portions of the beam member are tied to intermediate portions of the adjacent column members via metal joints. A window is installed in the upper opening, and a peripheral end portion of the structural plywood is fixed to the lower opening with a nail. The structural plywood is fixed with nails at a rough nail pitch.
Metal joint
A metal joint adapted to be fitted into a hole formed in a building component and fixed to the hole with an adhesive includes: a small diameter portion having an elongated shape and an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the hole; and two large diameter portions fixed to the small diameter portion individually at two locations spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of the small diameter portion, each large diameter portion having an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the hole. Furthermore, irregularities are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the small diameter portion in a section between the two large diameter portions.
Modular building structure
A connector that has a frame and a complementary column affixing pressure plate for coupling to the frame. The frame and the complementary column affixing pressure plate together forming a hollow body. The hollow body having a top end having an opening, a bottom end and side faces. The frame and complementary column affixing pressure plate having complementary apertures for receiving fasteners for affixing a column receivable within the hollow body from the top end. A joist plate coupled to the frame and a joist affixing pressure plate adapted for coupling to the joist plate. The joist plate and the joist affixing pressure plate having complementary apertures for receiving fasteners for affixing a joist. The connector can be used in construction of modular building and units.
Modular furniture system
A modular framework having a plurality of elongate structural members interconnected by brackets is provided. Each of the brackets includes at least one tubular socket to receive a structural member, and an array of holes is provided on a face of the socket to permit connection of an attachment to the bracket to support ancillary components.
Method and device for minimally invasive construction of additional level on a building
In several embodiments, the disclosed process may include installing one or more householder devices onto load-bearing structures of a building, installing one or more perimeter beams onto the one or more householders, installing a new exterior assembly onto the one or more perimeter beams, removing an existing roof, and constructing an additional level on the building. In at least one embodiment, installing the one or more householders onto the load-bearing structure may include cutting a hole in the existing roof above the load-bearing structure, attaching the householder onto the load-bearing structure, and sealing the hole around the householder. In some embodiments, the new exterior assembly may be partially or fully constructed on site and may be installed onto the one or more perimeter beams. In some embodiments, once the new exterior assembly is installed, the old roof may be removed from underneath the new exterior assembly.

WOOD TIMBER FRAMING METHOD
A method for constructing wooden framing for a structure is provided. The method includes locating a base on a horizontal surface, providing a wooden vertical framing support element on the base, installing a horizontal support member between the wooden vertical framing support element and one other wooden vertical framing support element, adjusting at least one of the base and the wooden vertical framing support element to have precise spacing between the wooden vertical framing support element and the one other wooden vertical framing support element, and securing the base to the horizontal surface and the wooden vertical framing support element to the base.
WOOD TIMBER FRAMING CONNECTION JOINT
A wooden structural joint is provided, including a wooden rectangular base member comprising, at one end, a removed center element, a plurality of removed center edge elements, and four intact corner elements, where the removed center element and the plurality of removed center edge elements are formed from vertical and horizontal cuts into the one end of the wooden rectangular base member, a plurality of horizontal members, each horizontal member having a height and further having a tab cut therein at one edge of the horizontal member, the tab cut at a percentage of the height such that all horizontal members fit securely together when assembled within the wooden rectangular base member, and a wooden rectangular top member having one end cut similar to the wooden rectangular base member.
FRAMING DEVICE
A simplified framing system with two or more arches which are joined together into a unitary structure by means of connector elements. Each arch is joined to a base by means of connector elements herein termed “base frame connectors”. The angle frame connectors and base frame connectors are preferably fabricated from sheet metal by conventional die cutting and press-forming or stamping techniques. The simplified framing system of this disclosure is particularly designed for assembly using nominal 2×4 inch lumber. The system does not require cutting the lumber except for straight, perpendicular cutting of the lumber to the desired lengths.
