GLUED BEAM, FASTENING ANCHOR FOR THE GLUED BEAM, AND JOINT CONNECTION OF GLUED BEAMS
The invention is related to the wooden house construction, especially to the glued beam assembly and anchor, as a component of a nodal connection, a nodal connection of glued beams, and possibly be used in building various-purpose wooden constructions, as well as in furniture manufacturing.
The invention is an improvement of construction technology and increases design durability by lowering the risk of connection destruction by placing a plastic tube within the glued beam and designing a nodal connection of glued beams.
Friction Fit Composite Column
A composite assembly includes a series of elongated layers joined lengthwise thereof. At least two of the elongated layers each have an upper elongated portion and a lower elongated portion secured together in an end-to-end relationship at a joint therebetween by a connector arrangement. The upper elongated portion is constructed of a wood material, and the lower elongated portion is constructed of a non-wood material. The lower elongated portion may have a reinforcing rod therein.
Fastening and Alignment Member
A connection between a connector, a fastener and one or more structural members is disclosed. The connector can be formed with a fastening and alignment member. The fastening and alignment member includes a projecting member and a protruding member in close proximity to a predetermined location for the fastener.
RESTRAINED JOINT APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A restrained joint apparatus, applications of the apparatus, and methods for making the apparatus are described. The apparatus is a wood-frame coupling that establishes the restrained joint with movement resistance and moment resistance of a wood member coupled with a frame. The frame includes a body with a wall. The frame can be a unitary structure wherein the wall of the body is arranged to replace an outer perimeter of the end of the wood member so that the wood member and the frame form the wood-frame coupling. In another embodiment, the frame is formed of a plurality of frame plates joined together about the perimeter of the wood member. The invention includes various applications for the wood-frame coupling where a restrained joint is useful. The invention includes a method of making the wood-frame coupling wherein the first described is forced onto and into the end of the wood member.
Bolted truss splice
A bolted truss splice that includes a first force distribution bar, a first collection plate, a second force distribution bar, a second collection plate, a tension plate, a truss member and a fastening mechanism. The first force distribution bar has a first side surface, a second side surface and an end surface. The first collection plate extends over at least part of the first side surface of the first force distribution bar, the second side surface of the first force distribution bar and the end surface of the first force distribution bar. The second force distribution bar has a first side surface, a second side surface and an end surface. The second collection plate extends over at least part of the first side surface of the second force distribution bar, the second side surface of the second force distribution bar and the end surface of the second force distribution bar. The truss member has an end, a first side surface and a second side surface that is opposite the first side surface. The first collection plate is attached to first side surface of the truss member so that the first force distribution bar is proximate the end of the truss member. The second collection plate is attached to the second side surface of the truss member so that the second force distribution plate is proximate the end of the truss member. The fastening mechanism is capable of extending through the first collection plate, the first force distribution bar, the second collection plate, the second force distribution bar and the tension plate to retain the tension plate in engagement with the truss member.
Construction using bundled tube and threaded stepped dowels
A system and method for creating a column for construction using bundled tube are provided. The column having a bottom portion, a middle portion, and a top portion. Each portion consists of a bundle of individual pillars, comprising a center pillar, a plurality of corner pillars, and a plurality of middle pillars. From the bottom portion of the column, addition pillars can be affixed on top of the pillars of the bottom portion, thus forming the middle and the top portion of the column. Each pillar can be secured to another component using a thread stepped dowel comprising of a base section, at least one middle section, and a tip section, with each section being progressively smaller in circumference than the last. The at least one middle section of the threaded stepped dowel further comprises thread spiraling around the outer surface of the at least one middle section.
A CONNECTION FOR TIMBER MEMBERS
A connection, a kit of parts, a modular building and associated methods. The connection comprising: a first timber member; a first connector assembly associated with the first timber member, the first connector assembly comprising: a plurality of elongate anchor members, each anchor member comprising a first end extending into and fixed with respect to the first timber member; and a second end protruding from the first timber member, wherein each of the anchor members defines a hole perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the anchor member for receiving a bolt; the connection further comprising: a plate connected or connectable to a second member, the plate defining at least one hole for receiving a bolt; at least one plurality of bolts, the or each bolt configured to extend through at least one of the anchor members and plate; wherein for the or each bolt, at least one of the corresponding anchor member hole or plate hole is oversized so as to receive the corresponding bolt with a clearance fit; and the or each bolt is configured to clamp the plate and anchor member such that relative movement of the plate and first connector assembly is resisted by friction caused by the clamping force provided by the plurality of bolts.
Self-building kit system
According to an example embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a self-building kit system including a first kit. The first kit includes: first modules of a first shape having two modules disposed opposite each other, and each including one or more first fitting portions cut out to a first length (d1) in the direction of the center thereof; and second modules of a second shape having N (N is a natural number) modules disposed between the two first modules, and each including one or more second fitting portions cut out to a second length (d2) in the direction of the center thereof. The second length (d2) is equal to or shorter than the first length (d1).
