METHOD OF ATTACHING A MEMBRANE TO A TUBULAR FRAMEWORK AND AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM USING THIS METHOD TO BUILD GEODESIC DOMES
A method of creating and attaching membrane panels of thin film, fabric or laminate to a tubular framework, that keeps the membrane tight over a wide range of air temperature and effectively seals the edges and hubs to provide a weather tight enclosure. A second aspect of this invention is a complete system for building enclosed geodesic domes and space frames using this method and addresses anchoring, external shading, venting, creating entryways and interior partitioning of said geodesic domes.
CONSTRUCTION STRUCTURE OF GEODESIC DOME-SHAPED HOUSE AND CONNECTION STRUCTURE BODY THEREOF
A construction structure of a geodesic dome-shaped house and a connection structure body thereof comprises: a plurality of triangular unit modules constituting a unit structure and a connection structure body of a geodesic dome-shaped house; a pair of inner beams which are disposed on both opposing sides of the triangular unit module; a connector which is disposed in a corner area between the pair of inner beams and connected to the pair of inner beams by a first coupling member; and a pair of outer beams which are disposed on outer surfaces of the pair of inner beams, respectively and connected to the connector and the inner beams by a second coupling member.
Frame structures
A frame structure using a tube subjected to bending processing by a pushing bending apparatus is provided to solve the problem of a simple body constituting the small-sized interior space. The frame structure forms a plane of frames by bundling a plurality of tubes or bars, each of which is bent to form a waveform of a constant amplitude around a linear axis in a same plane, to contact maximum amplitude portions of the tubes or bars each other, each maximum amplitude portion being in the same position in the longitudinal direction.
SPHERICAL TENT FRAME
The present utility model provides a spherical tent frame, comprising a plurality of support rods and a plurality of connecting members, each of the connecting members is provided with at least two connectors and each of the connectors is axially embedded with a socket; wherein an annular groove is provided in a position of the inner wall of the socket close to the bottom, and a plurality of elastic pieces pointing to the center of the bottom of the socket are arranged along the upper edge of the annular groove; both ends of each of the support rods are inserted to the socket to form a hemispherical frame put up with triangles as a unit and the connecting member as a vertex. For the technical solution of this utility model, according to the principle of stability of the triangle, the support rods are set up to a hemispherical frame in a unit of triangle by various multi-head connecting members, with aesthetic appearance, and the frame structure is firm and not easily deformed, and with the elastic pieces in the socket, the support rod is not easily fallen off or loosen from the connecting member after stressed, which assists in enhancing the overall stability of the tent frame and is convenient and quick to install.
Design and Methods for a Modular Construction Kit
A method for using modular items arranged as a system to connect easily available mostly inexpensive, bulky materials sourced elsewhere for the purpose of constructing objects of a person's own or another's design. The modular items work as an interlocking system that allows a wide range of options for securely connecting hoses, timber, pipes, plastic, metal and plywood sheets together as well as allowing various degrees of freedom of movement where required. Among other methods, connectors comprised of specialized sections that connect with each other as well as various base sections via inserts, lugs or other means are used to quickly assemble a designed item.
UNITARY HUBS FOR DOMES OR SPHERES
A unitary hub includes a central body and two or more tubular cylindrical prongs that can be used in conjunction with two or more struts to construct a dome or a sphere, such as a geodesic dome. The prongs have a first segment and a second segment that are disposed at an angle. The first segment has a first inner diameter and the second segment has a second inner diameter thereby creating a recess for the struts to be positioned easily and accurately within the prongs. The central body is formed from joining the two or more prongs disposed around an axial axis through a center of the central body. The central body has a top and bottom side with a spherically concaved section having a curvature. The struts may be tubular and cylindrical and can be inserted into the prongs or over the prongs.
Coupling Connector and Geodome Frame Made Therewith
A coupling connector for a geodesic dome frame comprising a body having holes radial to the vertical axis of the body and positioned at an angle to its horizontal plane. A geodesic dome frame formed with the coupling connector comprises coupling connectors with holes, in which rod ends are positioned to form multiple interconnected triangles forming the surface of the geodesic dome.
MODULAR CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A modular unit for forming a multiple member joint includes: an elongate body; a bracket attached adjacent an end of the elongate body, the bracket located around a longitudinal axis of the modular unit; a plurality of connectors associated with the bracket with a position retention mechanism, the plurality of connectors extending from the end of the elongate body parallel to a longitudinal axis of the modular unit; and one or more connector joints attached at a distal end of the plurality of connectors, wherein the one or more connector joints are adapted to join with one or more connector joints of connectors extending from connectors of an adjoining modular unit.
